We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The most valuable features of this solution are the Web Filtering and the APT.""It analyzes the domain security helps us implement the securest policy.""I like the original functionality, which allows for providing secure DNS services.""Helps block personal email accounts.""It offers good visibility for the Administrator. The administrator has full visibility of what is blocked or has the knowledge of where users go when they are surfing the internet.""Cisco Umbrella is such a solution and can be implemented very fast and easy. All that we must do is redirect the DNS registers in their routers, or the active directory service of the enterprise that are going to use in Umbrella services. If you buy the service now, in two hours you are protected by the service because it's very fast to put in service.""I like that it integrates with the infrastructure. I also like the kind of data and intelligence that's built-in. It helps create innovative reports for security.""Some clients only want DNS security, while others want more of the advanced features that it has available."

"The feature that I like best is the GUI.""In Azure, we have multiple subscriptions and with every subscription, we add some kind of instance ID. We can work with the instance ID so that we allow all of the instances containing nodules. Everything else, we block. This way, if you go to outlook.com and check your email, if you log in with your company account, the instance ID will show. The network will take action according to the instance ID and say, "You are using the enterprise email. I'll let you surf. I'll let you see your email." But when you try to log in with your own email address, like Hotmail or Gmail, the instance ID will be different. This way we are not completely blocking Outlook, but we are blocking people from accessing their Outlook. We are only allowing the enterprise-level emails, and we are not allowing user-based emails.""Their technical support is very good.""Netskope is a really good product. I cannot segregate which features are the most valuable. We find most of the features to be valuable. It gives us what we are looking for.""I have found the most useful features to be the Web Secure Gateway, CASB, infrastructural service scanning, and Zero Trust.""Technical support is pretty good.""A very straightforward interface.""The automation offered by the product is pretty solid."

"The most valuable feature is the SecOps because they have our back and they help us with the reports... It's like having an extension of your team. And then, it grows with you.""Technical support is very helpful."

Cons
"It's a very new product, so it's quite immature at the moment. It can be more user friendly.""It could be more secure. It would be better if they provided a transferring proxy as an add-on and more integration.""The pricing is a bit high. Being outside of the USA, we have issues with the exchange rate.""In the future, they should combine some of the Cisco AMP features that they already have, for anti-malware purposes.""I would like to see more integration between Cisco Umbrella and Cisco DNA Center.""I think it's a very basic solution, and because of that, Cisco Umbrella would not be a suitable solution for large companies.""Looking at the full umbrella suite in the light of SASE, Secure Access Service Edge, they are clearly lacking in the inline CASB.""The product can be pretty expensive."

More Cisco Umbrella Cons →

"The configuration in the cloud model could be improved upon.""There could be better integration with other solutions.""The solution is still pretty new to the CASB environment.""They can focus more on ease of admin, ease of use, and ease of migration. Migration should be simple for companies that are using a different platform and would like to move to Netskope. Everyone looks for a simple migration. They can also focus more on cloud services and cloud trends. They have to see the cloud market, and they should try to compete with Zscaler and other players. They should also work on licensing costs.""The initial setup is complex and should be simplified.""Lacking in local customer support.""There should be some granular custom roles that are not available. However, this is on the road map. There are many devices that do not have the Zero Trust feature and other enhancements available which they should have.""Compatibility with other proxy polars would be helpful."

More Netskope CASB Cons →

"The compliance and governance need improvement.""They could give a few more insights into security groups and recommendations on how to be more effective. That's getting more into the AWS environment, specifically. I'm not sure if that's Threat Stack's plan or not, but I would like them to help us be efficient about how we're setting up security groups. They could recommend separation of VPCs and the like - really dig into our architecture. I haven't seen a whole lot of that and I think that's something that, right off the bat, could have made us smarter."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "I am not sure, I don't have the numbers in front of me, but I think it's $1.00 or so per device/month."
  • "Cisco uses subscription models for the pricing and there are three subscription plans."
  • "The licensing part for Umbrella is really flexible."
  • "There are three models for licensing with different feature sets."
  • "I think it's worth the money."
  • "The price of Cisco Umbrella is a little higher than similar solutions, like Gateway."
  • "The price should be slightly lower than the current price because if you look at the whole solution, it is simply a threat intelligence solution to block blacklisted things. The price should be lower looking at the features provided by the solution. The price isn't too high either, but it could be lower."
  • "There is a subscription cost."

  • "What we're paying now is somewhere around $15 to $20 per agent per month, if I recall correctly. The other cost we have is SecOps."
