Room for improvement in data handling leads to enhanced cost-effective data management performance
It would be beneficial if MongoDB Atlas could better support OLTP aspects and data frames, as well as enhance its capabilities for data pipelines and visualization dashboards. Furthermore, supporting the medallion architecture could be a valuable addition, and incorporating improved spatial and vector handling for geographical data could make it more competitive. Enhancing vector processing for AI capabilities would also be critical.

Has improved performance by enabling smoother business operations and real-time data integration
I am satisfied with SAP HANA Cloud and don't see any room for improvement. I don't use SAP HANA Cloud's machine learning feature at this moment. Currently, we don't use SAP HANA Cloud's ability to support hybrid data landscapes in our organization. SAP HANA Cloud can integrate real-time analytics with transactional data processing in my businesses by connecting it with other systems such as government systems and HR systems for fingerprint recognition. We are already using BOBJ or SAP BW for predictive analytics, which is an old solution from SAP. My overall rating for SAP HANA Cloud is eight out of 10. The reason I don't give it a higher score is that there are some concerns related to security and certain features that I have not seen yet.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"There are many valuable features, but scalability stands out. It can scale across zones. You can define multiple nodes. They have also partnered with AWS, offering great service with multiple features, including built-in backup, all under the same roof, without the need for external tools."
"It is nice because our developers create tables whenever they need to sync data."
"The most beneficial MongoDB features for our workload are the ability to scale up and down using automatic sharding and clustering."
"MongoDB Atlas is a database that is quite fast, stable, and reliable."
"For security reasons, I prefer MongoDB Atlas. It supports role-based access control, so you have an entity for each individual."
"Our databases used to be in-house. Now, they are in the cloud with MongoDB and everything is much easier."
"The dynamic structures are the most valuable."
"You can start quickly on projects which allow you to store many things."
"Using SAP HANA Cloud, we can replicate the data into HANA and use live data, which improves our business decision-making."
"The best features of SAP HANA Cloud are that its software is effective because it has tight integration between other functions, such as finance, materials, and sales."
"I would rate SAP HANA Cloud nine to ten out of ten."
"From my perspective, the best features of SAP HANA Cloud are that it's an ERP system connecting all departments together, making it a very smooth software for business operations."

Cons

"The UI is not currently designed in a manner to make it possible for a non-technical person or a layman to update the database easily."
"We need improved query performance."
"The initial configuration fine-tuning for performance can be time-consuming."
"The installation was straightforward except for the network hardware because it was a little complicated to make the connection with our VPC on AWS."
"The biggest challenge we all have is an application layer level. One node is sitting in the APAC region, another node is sitting in the US and UK region. The seamless replication has to be lightning fast, but we haven't tested the scalability yet."
"It would be great if it were easier to integrate MongoDB Atlas with AWS services. Technical support for MongoDB Atlas could be better."
"The cost needs improvement. The product is good, but the cost that we paid for it is expensive, so it wasn't that valuable."
"I would like the solution to offer more integration capabilities since it is an area where the solution lacks."
"The technical support from SAP is inadequate. We don't get timely responses, with support tickets taking more than 25 days to process."
"Regarding SAP HANA Cloud, one significant pain point is the lack of access to the database from the HANA Studio for developers."
"In future updates of SAP HANA Cloud, I would suggest some changes in the user interfaces to make it more user-friendly."
"SAP HANA Cloud requires extensive documentation before connecting with a human being to troubleshoot an issue."
"I see some weaknesses in SAP HANA Cloud regarding innovations, as they take their own time compared to what the market brings in with new features."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The pricing is not that expensive, but it can be, especially when we have deployed it across multiple zones."
"The price of MongoDB Atlas is highly expensive to use and maintain. They are taking advantage of the users with such a high price."
"We pay for the license on a monthly basis. It's not cheap or expensive. For smaller companies, it's definitely expensive."
"The tool is free since it's an open-source product."
"MongoDB Atlas is more cost-effective than Amazon DocumentDB. It also has a pay-as-you-go pricing model. Apart from the standard licensing cost, you must also pay to get MongoDB Atlas technical support, which is expensive."
"Pricing could always be better."
"The solution is expensive overall. It does not require a license but if you want the support then you will need to purchase the license. They use a pay-as-you-go model and you are able to receive some discounts by making longer usage commitments."
"We pay for a license."
