Has significantly improved document-driven workflows and reduced processing time across finance and HR functions
Automation Anywhere has evolved significantly and upgraded itself to provide agentic AI and AI-based automation solutions for document automation. The product has matured considerably over time. We can create workflows that can call an API. We can include prompts in particular workflows for ChatGPT-related functions, connecting to an LLM and RAG to perform tasks. For document automation, modern features are available to train documents, ensuring high accuracy and repeatability over time. The system is very easy to use. I recently completed a course in document automation, typically designed for people involved in coding and technical aspects. Though I understand coding comprehensively, I don't do actual coding. The course was very accessible. Currently, extensive coding isn't necessary due to the hybrid model incorporating GenAI aspects, low-code, no-code capabilities, APIs, and numerous pre-built objects in Automation Anywhere. The features include GenAI-driven prompting methods and workflow creation capabilities. In these workflows, we can create decision boxes and call APIs without coding. We simply pull objects, drop them, connect them, and add minimal coding when needed. The most crucial aspect isn't coding but rather sizing the automation and fleshing out the details. Automation Co-pilot takes notes and performs automated analysis. It can extract details from videos, summarize conversations, and provide detailed information. During calls, it identifies instructions and performs tasks such as preparing reports and reconciliation. Automation Anywhere can also connect with Microsoft Co-pilot. Through Co-pilot, real-time operations can be executed, allowing direct interaction between vendors and automation through this component.

Automating processes has saved time and improved communication
Something frustrates me concerning Microsoft Power Automate, and that is about the integration with Microsoft Forms and Excel. The issue now is that I don't get my responses synchronized automatically, and that frustrates me a lot. If the team could take this as feedback, the synchronization of the feedback responses from the forms and the Excel sheets should be seamless. This synchronization issue happens frequently, and it causes a lot of delays in the sense that the mails that ought to go out to the agents fail at some point. I have to reload these responses so that the agents can get their responses as when submitted. What I notice is that the responses don't go out without proper synchronization, so I reload the field responses, and this works afterwards. I would say probably a seamless walkthrough process for new users would be beneficial. For those using it for the first time, a seamless walkthrough process would be fine.

It lightens the workload while giving our clients greater visibility into what's being done and how
I've used Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism, UiPath, and Pega Robotics, formerly OpenSpan. I still have ongoing projects with those, which tend to be client-driven. Verint probably works better for us because it originated in the call center world. Pega Robotics is probably the only one that can match Verint in that segment. Verint is better for call center employees or back-office workers. Depending on the use case, we could have used Automation Anywhere or UiPath. Those other solutions focus on replacing workers and automating all their tasks. Verint aims to make the workers more efficient and allow management to see what the worker is doing. You can have an equally significant impact with either approach, but I prefer the human-centered approach.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Its ability to integrate with other solutions is awesome."
"With the help of Bot, it has increased the productivity of the current process and we do not need to spend more time on error resolution and rectification."
"We have saved customers 400% in terms of time saved by implementing this product."
"The most valuable feature of Automation Anywhere right now is its low-code, no-code framework, which allows us to build a lot of templates that are both repeatable and reusable over time."
"Now, we can have the bot check all of them."
"Document automation has notably reduced manual effort."
"IQ Bot is one of the most valuable features because it helps in processing different formats from different vendors."
"We used to set up 150 to 250 products in a week; that has come down to a day, and now I initiate the bot, go home, and by the time I am back it is done, so time is something that we are saving, we are becoming more efficient, and our partners are happy."
"The engineers on-site can generate an automated report that takes approximately 10 minutes, while before it took them two days."
"So far, the tech support has provided me with good enough support and knowledge."
"The RPA robotic process automation is a good feature. We can make a flow within a flow. We just made a UI flow. The flow is to run every day so far it's been quite helpful."
"The most valuable features of Microsoft Power Automate are the connectors, such as loops, which make things easier."
"We use it for automating our business processes, sending reminders and these sorts of things, and every Excel update also happens through Power Automate."
"The value is that the whole platform seamlessly integrates well and that there are enough connectors to the majority of the systems for the SAP connection, or ServiceNow connection, or an email connection, or SharePoint connection."
"The most valuable feature is that it is very easy to use."
"It is basically free for me because it comes with my Office 365 subscription."
"Verint probably works better for us because it originated in the call center world."
"Verint RPA gives our clients greater visibility into what's being done and how. It also lightens the load on the workers by automating tasks."

Cons

"Automation Anywhere could assist in this transition."
"Automation Anywhere courses are a little bit complex to understand. You need a little bit more time, and accessibility is also a little bit of an issue."
"Logging into Automation Anywhere takes some time. I use it frequently, and each login currently takes some time. A reduction in this time would be helpful."
"There's potential for Automation Anywhere to integrate conversational types of tools and AI into their tool set, which would be really valuable."
"Automation Anywhere could improve by incorporating better integration with DevOps."
"OCR capability needs to become better."
"Especially while using v11, I often experience freezes with OCR extraction from PDF files."
"As a developer, the biggest con is the lag; it's pretty inconvenient to face that delay in things happening."
"The solution is not actually satisfying the complex programs that we want to execute."
"While working with non-structured data (like logs and user tracking information that usually fits the criteria of big data), all the data sources must pass by a data quality process via any ETL tool before linking and publishing any information to the automation workflows and forms."
"The initial setup is complex and has room for improvement."
"Sometimes there are issues with security policies within the company. Some parts get blacked. There are some drawbacks when we use it connected to the cloud. We need to convince clients to open some parts. This is often an issue that originates from the company itself, not Power Automate."
"While using this solution, we found it to be basic."
"There have been issues in which it has failed, and it remains a concern."
"The connectors and the integration capability can be improved. Microsoft RPA is a growing platform, and it is not yet particularly mature."
"When we scale up, we switch to another application."
"Verint RPA needs a more robust toolset to create complex UIs for workers. It's probably not just this product. Almost all automation solutions have similar limitations."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"In terms of monetary savings, we automated a bot in three days that has saved us $30,000 in costs."
"We brought onshore a lot of what we were doing offshore, saving our company close to $20 million."
"The cloud-based version comes at an increased cost, although our clients are happy with the new features and have not complained about the pricing."
"They all are very competitive today. At the end of the day, it boils down to the negotiations that happen and what type of partner you are."
"In terms of pricing, this is a good product."
"We only deal in annual licenses. There are no pay-as-you-go licenses."
"Costs savings have been seen by employing bots for multiple shifts instead of people."
"We have seen ROI in terms of cost and time with a couple of our projects."
"It is free for us. It is embedded directly in the Office package."
"Microsoft Power Automate is part of our Office 365 package, there are no additional licensing costs."
"You can have two types of licenses, one is user-based, and the other is app-based in the Power Platform."
"It has a cost-effective pricing model compared to competitors."
"Licensing is on an annual basis."
"The platform is averagely priced. I rate the pricing a five out of ten."
"This solution is bundled with our Office 365, so there is no additional licensing fee."
"The price of the solution is reasonable. I rate the pricing a five out of ten."
