Has simplified credential management and improved secure access control across departments
The features I find most useful in Microsoft Active Directory are especially for the Single Sign-On. This is very useful for users, particularly if they have plenty of applications, such as tablet applications. When they log in to their computer, the application will automatically log in with their credentials. They don't need to remember another user and password to log in to the application because it's already maintained with Microsoft Active Directory using Single Sign-On. To assess the impact of Microsoft Active Directory's centralized domain management on security protocols and access permissions, Microsoft Active Directory itself has constraints with security because when we have a solution such as SSO or Single Sign-On, which makes it easier for users to log in, some parts have security openings. When their computer is compromised with a threat, malware, or other cyber threats, it becomes easier to enter the application without login permission.

Mobile access to calls and records has freed agents’ time but call logs create slowly
Working and getting advice from the Mobile Connect team and the process around it was spot-on. Ruben Opdenakker particularly was very supportive of our ad hoc requests while we were in our POV stage. He was very prompt, and I recommend Mobile Connect to anyone who's looking to implement a similar use case in their organization.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"I think the main reason we are using Active Directory for SSO Office for single time and for intake integrity capability to other services."
"The features and capabilities of Microsoft Active Directory that I have found the most valuable over the years are that it is a mature technology, it's stable, and it delivers what it promises."
"It's quite easy to integrate into other directories."
"Active Directory is more flexible and feature-rich than Apache."
"The solution is easy to install and has good reliability."
"I can use Active Directory to block a user's internet access and monitor how an employee is using the internet."
"Microsoft Active Directory is the most centralized tool for my organization, which has impacted us positively, as we can reset passwords for all users at once, add anyone to any group, and check the members tab, making it really easy for us to troubleshoot end-user issues and beneficial for our information technology needs."
"One noteworthy aspect we discovered is the ability to exercise tight control over systems, specifically Windows PCs. This pertains to the management of policies, usage patterns, and user access on these devices, particularly within the framework of Active Directory which is extremely well thought. This actually works better with on-premises solutions. However, as the global trend shifts towards cloud and hybrid environments, Active Directory and its use is diminishing. Yet, it hasn't entirely lost its relevance and remains a presence that cannot be entirely disregarded."
"The most valuable feature of this solution is its ability to answer calls."
"Working and getting advice from the Mobile Connect team and the process around it was spot-on."
"Mobile Connect has significantly improved our operational efficiency by eliminating the need for workers to switch between multiple applications."
"Pricing is fair for the quality of the app and features"

Cons

"Microsoft Active Directory Federation Services is very difficult for on-premises solutions, while for the cloud solution, it's very easy."
"Even better group management would be beneficial."
"The solution should maintain the infrastructure according to the period you are in and the security changes."
"Microsoft Active Directory fails to provide MFA. MFA, which is also known as multi-factor authentication on top of the password and username, is what I would like to see in the product's future releases."
"The interface for logs should be user-friendly and allow for enhanced filtering to drill down to incidents."
"Active Directory's user experience is a little dated. Group policy management should be more customizable."
"The product's premium support services could be less expensive."
"The solution could be made more safe by using authentication mechanisms."
"My only comment is that I would like more comprehensive documentation regarding the implementation process."
"There is room for improvement in video support."
"Salesforce voice call records are not created instantly in the system."
"The solution works well, but it is too expensive."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"I'm unsure about the cost of the solution, as I was never involved in that aspect. However, I don't think it would be expensive. It might be average, around four or five out of ten."
"On a scale from one to ten, where one is cheap and ten is expensive, I rate the solution's pricing a four out of ten."
"Active Directory is an expensive solution, primarily due to Microsoft's licensing model. This licensing approach includes paying for server licenses as well as for each computer that connects to it. However, when working with the Azure cloud, there is no cost for the server. This is profitable and one of the main reasons why Azure Cloud and other cloud-based solutions are being used more."
"I rate the product’s pricing a five out of ten."
"The license is perpetual and the cost is minimal. If you purchase Microsoft Windows then Microsoft Active Directory comes with the package."
"Microsoft Active Directory is not an expensive solution."
"The price of Microsoft Active Directory could improve. We pay annually for the solution."
"The version of Microsoft Active Directory I was using was expensive because it was used for large companies."
