We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"I like that you can tag somebody and add some comments to make the modifications. You can share it with people. You can actually keep track of changes and engage in real-time collaboration. You can actually make those documents track changes.""Microsoft products are familiar to most users and intuitive to use.""The platform is well-integrated with all Microsoft products.""The initial setup is pretty simple.""The Exchange Online plan is helpful. It's built into the email, like a security feature or AI that helps to manage email. It has helped my company and clients a lot.""The solution is easy to use and scalable.""We use Microsoft 365 Business for email and desktop management. We also use Office Suite products like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint to manage documents.""I appreciate the mobility of this solution."

"OneNote is the feature I use the most. We also frequently use the Power Apps features.""If you have a global solution, you can go from one product to the other very easily. And then you can share data between all the different tools of Office which is good because participation and sharing is very good. That's the most important aspect of Office 365.""The cloud service and Skype are the most valuable features.""Many of the features in Office 365 are good, but I think Excel is a very good tool.""It's inexpensive to license.""The most valuable feature is the integration between net and mobile devices.""There's a lot there in terms of apps and features.""Using Office 365 has allowed us to go digital and onboard people seamlessly for working at home during the COVID pandemic."

Cons
"Some menu options are not as logical as you would think, and it can take time to figure out how to go about it.""The security sites need to be simplified and the technical support needs improvement.""Business 365 could potentially affect compliance with local and industry-specific regulations.""The solution could work to offer better security.""The management could be a bit better.""The security features and the engine they are using are not good enough. They are not able to protect you from phishing attacks, which is the biggest drawback of this solution. We have been getting phishing emails, and I have been chasing Microsoft every single day. In terms of configuration, all the controls that they have recommended are in place, but we are still getting a lot of phishing emails. I would like to see a feature that allows us to share a folder from an online archive, which is a sort of mailbox attached to the primary mailbox. Currently, you can share folders, contacts, and calendars only in the primary mailbox. You can't share any folder or other things from the online archive. The limit of the primary mailbox is 50 GB, whereas the online archive is unlimited, so it would be useful if we can share a folder from the online archive.""For the past six months, I have been facing a synchronization issue between the calendar of Microsoft Teams and the calendar of Microsoft Outlook. In Microsoft Teams, I can't see the updated version of some meetings, but Outlook shows the updated version. There is a problem with data synchronization between the calendars of these applications. Both calendars should be synchronized.""Outlook doesn't sync with Google Calendar."

More Microsoft 365 Business Cons →

"A need that a company like ours has is that we want to be able to have data flow into one tool, for example, for all the management of tasks through the company and workflow of who is doing what and so on. There are no real solutions for this at the moment in Office 365. It would be nice if they could implement this in the next release, so we can have one solution from one company giving us the whole data and flow of data into the company.""Normally, they have a way to work with specific developments, and I think they shouldn't allow the partners to make some changes they have made. When I have a client with a lot of changes, we have a problem with that because there aren't rules to develop inside the ERP, so you can do anything.""Microsoft Defender for Office 365 could use some customization, but this area for improvement is trivial.""Office 365 could allow for smoother collaboration with other companies, which is the main reason we use it. The B2B connection is something we need, like global adverse lists between two tenants or multiple users. That's what we're missing at the moment.""We have found that, with Teams, if you are including one more person who is not in the company ecosystem, supposedly I'm inviting them as a guest in the chat. However, when I do that, I can't share files.""I'm not sure if there are areas of improvement. For us, it's working quite well.""As a private user, I do not appreciate the cloud features, but I doubt that this is something Microsoft would consider a feature request.""I would like to see the macro functionality in Excel made simpler."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "Depending on which plan you purchase, there are a plethora of applications available to you."
  • "Compared to buying a license, it is much cheaper and a good buy."
  • "We do monthly billing, however, I'm not sure what the exact costs are. We may pay around $1,000/month. We started using the Microsoft Teams and we've started doing the conference call feature, so that's another $4 an account and we have a few accounts using that right now."
  • "USD $1,250 annually for the standard package."
  • "Pricing can vary a lot due to fluctuations in exchange rates and that is not favorable for planning."
  • "Now you can select different licenses, for example, if somebody doesn't need all of the features, it would cost $8 USD per month and if they didn't need the email application then it would cost $6 USD per month."
  • "It works out to be $12.50 per user per month."
  • "Microsoft 365 Business will be good to have if you have a large organization where you have more than 3000 employees. Other cheaper solutions, like Gmail, are easily available in the market."
