Gained full visibility and streamlined threat detection through behavior-based insights and AI integration
Initially, we got to have a lot of false positives when we onboarded, but nowadays it's quite smooth. We have fine-tuned our security policies and allowed different levels of policies to get rid of those false positives. Currently, we are getting a fairly good amount of incidents that are not false positives or benign, but actionable items. The process is streamlined. In the initial days, the operations used to get involved in a lot of benign and other activities, but now the process is streamlined. We are leveraging the auto-detection and remediation plans. The operations teams are now more involved in other business roles as well, not just looking into the logs and fetching out what's happening there. They have fixed a lot of things. Initially, they didn't have IAC code drift detection, cloud posture management, or security posture management, but they have those now. They purchased different vendors and did a merger with that. They have now Prisma Cloud that gets integrated and now they are working with Cortex Cloud. Everything that was negative has now been addressed, and the product altogether looks to be in a very better and mature shape now. Currently, it's more or less detecting the workloads with AI-based best practices. Since most organizations are consuming AI agents and other things, we are looking forward to seeing what other feature enhancements Palo Alto can support in that.

Long-term licensing has provided reliable lightweight protection for commercial customers and maintains strong performance without disrupting existing security tools
Kaspersky Total Security is a lightweight solution that does not slow down Windows. In many years of use for my customers, I have not had any broken software or other problems. Safe Money technology is available in the product, but I do not use it because my customers have other security solutions that intercept malware before Kaspersky on the firewall and networking firewall of LAN. I sell the various solutions of next generation, Optimum, and Advanced through MCP licensing.

A cost-effective security solution for endpoint protection
The initial setup is complex. It is rare to see an effective endpoint protection system that does not require some effort. It is neither on the cloud nor on-premises. You deploy it on every endpoint or server, irrespective of perimeter. You must use a deployment tool unless you prefer to do it manually on every endpoint or server. We used an automation tool to deploy it. Since we had MSI with us. We had to verify that everything worked, but it didn't take more than two weeks for 1000 endpoints.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"But overall, when we speak about security and protection, they are one of the top providers."
"It has a higher cost than other solutions, like CrowdStrike or Microsoft’s EDR tools, but it reduces the cost of our operations because it’s a new generation antivirus tool."
"The initial setup is easy."
"The information the dashboard provides is very clear."
"If any application performs suspicious activities, such as changing registries or modifying other applications, Cortex XDR detects and blocks the entire application."
"We switched because there were a lot of added features with Palo Alto that Check Point didn't have, and it was an upgrade for us."
"Technical support is the best in class, in my opinion, because they have invested heavily in research and development."
"Based on my experience, I would recommend Cortex XDR by Palo Alto Networks to other people."
"There has been a return on investment for our small and medium business users."
"Kaspersky is reliable because it checks everything before I want to log in."
"I find the solution to be very stable in terms of security and protection of the data."
"Kaspersky Total Security directly detects if there are any threats on the internet or when I use a USB stick."
"It is a stable solution...It is a scalable solution."
"It is a stable product."
"I am satisfied with the solution's security features because we have been using it for years."
"The most effective feature is its scanning. When they scan the viruses, they come back with the records quite fast. They make sure that they rectify."
"First of all, it does the job. It prevents harm to the operating system. Also, the visibility it gives to the user and to the administrator is very good."
"Nyotron protects your users and does not acquire any threat intelligence."
"This product really is the best solution for this security issue."

Cons

"We would also like to have advanced tech protection and email scanning."
"If he is using a smaller company, he can depend on some other tools because Cortex XDR by Palo Alto Networks is a bit expensive."
"The tool needs to be improved in terms of integration and interface."
"Palo Alto Networks Cortex XDR does not detect malicious activity like in other anti-virus solutions like Trend Micro and Windows with Cisco."
"The solution should force customers to integrate with network traffic to see the full benefits of XDR."
"It would be good if they could make an exception for applications. Sometimes, it can be a bit of a challenge to make exceptions for certain applications that have been used as rogue."
"It is a complex solution to implement."
"Cortex XDR by Palo Alto Networks is a strong tool, but it is true that digesting information sometimes makes the tool go a little bit slower."
"Regarding improvement, Kaspersky has a slightly larger system footprint, leading to a 5-10% performance slowdown compared to when I wasn't using Kaspersky."
"The authorization process could be faster."
"The only area for improvement is the price, which is slightly high."
"The system can be demanding on resources, making devices busy when running the client application. It would be beneficial if the resource usage could be reduced to lessen the burden on devices."
"The solution’s stability could be improved"
"Kaspersky has to improve its response when there is an incident. They need to respond faster."
"When you get the license number, there isn't a clear section in the program's interface that leads you to renew your license. You have to look and search a lot about it."
"Kaspersky Total Security should be easier to manage and improve user interaction. Resetting often requires some experience, which can be a problem for generic users. Web users also encounter some issues that should be improved."
"The solution should be available on Linux and other platforms, including mobile platforms such as Android and iOS."
"The main feature that is missing is to have the same solution on servers. Currently it's only protecting the client side, not the server. If they would add the server in the same solution, that would be great."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The price of the product is not very economical."
"We pay about $50,000 USD per year for a bundle that includes Cortex XDR."
"The return on investment is from the user side because we have seen the performance of it increase the delivery time of the product if we are using too many web-based and on-premise applications. In indirect ways, we saw the return of investment in terms of performance and user satisfaction increase."
"I feel it is fairly priced."
"The pricing seems fair, and I do like the licensing model. You use wherever they are, and it is elastic."
"We didn't have to pay any additional fee for the cloud instance. It just came with the renewal, which was nice."
"I did PoCs on products called Cylance and CrowdStrike. Although, I consider these products and they were also good, when it come to cost and budgetary factors, Traps has been proven to be better than the other two products. It is quite cost-effective and delivers all the entire solution which we require."
"The price was fine."
"I like this solution due to its cost-free nature"
"Users need to pay a licensing fee for the solution, which is neither cheap nor expensive."
"The product is not expensive."
"Kaspersky Total Security is a cheap solution."
"We purchase the product’s yearly license."
"Kaspersky Total Security is not an expensive solution."
"The pricing of the solution is good."
"We have a yearly license, and it's not expensive."
