Has reduced hardware strain through agentless patching and improved asset visibility
This solution does not have capability of managing applications. It is only used for asset management and patch management. Regarding analytics for Ivanti Security Controls, it does not have extensive capabilities. It is a basic tool from Ivanti for scanning and deploying. It does not have analytics features such as EDR or security tools available in the market. It only has capability to check missing patches, find them, and deploy them. When it comes to reports, compliance reports or similar types of reports are not user-friendly. Expertise is required for handling these aspects. The asset management in Ivanti Security Controls needs more visibility. Additionally, it can be improved to handle in-house applications, which currently cannot be installed. It can only handle existing applications, unlike Ivanti's Endpoint Manager. It should have additional features in this area that need improvement.

Have maintained accurate vulnerability scans and gained actionable remediation insights across thousands of servers
Tenable Vulnerability Management agents are very lightweight, and the results we get are very accurate. The solutions they provide to us, assuming if one vulnerability exists, there will be a solution. The resolution they give us in wording will be the best solution. The exploit rates and the reports we get provide a lot of information, making it very easy for us to verify. The main benefit of integration with Tenable Vulnerability Management is that there will be no lack of missing vulnerabilities when it comes to the patching environment. That is one of the key aspects of why we have integrated Tenable to our patching tools. It has a vast capacity of pushing the data to our tools due to its capability and compatibility. That is also one of the reasons why we are using Tenable Vulnerability Management.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"What has been most valuable is the ability to manage, restore and install upgrades and applications. We scan PCs and server and receive results."
"Ivanti Security Controls is an agentless tool which means we do not need to install any agent on the server or endpoint, and through agentless capabilities, it can install software, install patches, and control over the server, including asset management."
"Technical support is helpful and responsive."
"Ivanti Security Controls is a better solution than SCCM."
"The solution is very simple to use."
"Technical support has been good. They respond quite quickly."
"Tenable Vulnerability Management is the backbone of our vulnerability management and has affected my organization positively."
"The best feature of the solution is the amount of visibility it provides of the vulnerabilities."
"Tenable is user-friendly and excels in reporting."
"The initial setup is mostly straightforward."
"The solution is easy to use and configuration is smooth with no complexities."
"The dashboard is pretty intuitive, and it lets you do a drill-down analysis of each vulnerability. That is something that brings a lot of value to the organization."

Cons

"It should be more scalable."
"Ivanti Security Controls is a powerful product, but it has quite a steep learning curve."
"When it comes to reports, compliance reports or similar types of reports are not user-friendly. Expertise is required for handling these aspects."
"For the Windows upgrade, the errors we experience are not clear. We see a time out error but do not know the reason. We would like to know the root cause."
"The response times from the customer service and support team could be improved."
"They've been able to think about everything in terms of where the world is going and the type of assets that you've got. They've everything sorted out in that aspect, but you have to pay for most of the other components that they've got to give you complete visibility across your tech surface. If it already had those capabilities in-built, without having to add them on to take advantage of them, it would be a very compelling value proposition."
"I'd like to see them improve their support."
"The solution must be promoted more in the market."
"An area of improvement for this solution is being able to customize the dashboard."
"I would not say very expensive for Tenable Vulnerability Management; it is not prohibitive, but at the same time, there are some other tools in the marketplace which are offering the same kind of services that Tenable offers, the same kind of features that Tenable has offered at a lesser cost."
"The product is a bit expensive."
"Technical support from Tenable is rated six out of ten. It needs improvement in response time and addressing feature requests promptly."

"On a scale of one to ten, where one is low, and ten is high price, I rate the pricing an eight. So, it is a pretty expensive solution."
