Visual traffic interface aids in network micro-segmentation while a streamlined update option enhances process efficiency
The strongest aspect of Illumio is the visual traffic interface, which allows us to see all traffic that communicates with our servers and allied companies. We can write rules that can be embedded into the IP table, making it easy to handle. Illumio enables us to see network flows, traffic sources, and destinations. The policy generation and enforcement capabilities are valuable, allowing for selective enforcement. Illumio helps in audit purposes by saving data and showing blocked traffic, ensuring no outside traffic is allowed.

Provides secure remote access and web navigation protection with highly customizable features
The most helpful features in Netskope are the data loss prevention module, the anti-malware module, and the integration that it has with Information Rights Management from Microsoft. It has better categorization and more granular features regarding web protection, as it allows me to control HTTP methods. I can publish WhatsApp web for my users as read-only, for example. Other providers cannot; they are only on and off, and do not have the granularity for a website to be read-only. That comes with a downside, which is that they need to regularly update their controls to support those features in those websites.

Offers sandboxing unit and virtual patch management, stop all the vulnerabilities and exploits
It's a good product. It's taken the majority of the market share in Pakistan from any other product; the major feature of Deep Security is its virtual patching management, which they download on the cloud. They stop all the vulnerabilities and exploits as long as you don't download all the updates and install them physically on the servers. So, in that sense, it is a very good product. And we've been selling it for a long time; it's been four to five years. And we have a lot of customers for it. Trend Micro Deep Security has a sandboxing unit, which is one of the major features that actually gives you a chance to detect any kind of threat in your network or on your servers. Also, if users truly want to secure their network and the servers, they may want to use XDR as well, which has all these features we just discussed.

Pros

"The features that I have found most useful is the ability to centralize all the rules and then distribute them across various locations. "We need more details on areas where there is an error or a traffic blockage. I would like the tool to offer a more detailed view."
"I have not had the chance to experiment deeply with it."
"There should be an option to upgrade from the console to the latest version instead of performing manual upgrades. This would be more helpful to streamline processes."

"The tool should integrate SIM functionality. It should also improve customer support."
"I would rate tech support in the range of six to eight out of 10. Time to provide solution could be improved."
"The problem with this solution is that if you go on large sites you have to have an external database, which would increase the cost."

"We'd like to see extended capacity in the on-premises versions."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"There is a subscription needed to use Illumio Adaptive Security Platform and we pay every three years. Overall the solution is expensive."
"The product's pricing is around 10,000-15,000 USD. The pricing is on a yearly basis."
"They should work on licensing costs."
"The price is in the middle range compared to other solutions."
"There is a license required for this solution and there are many licensing models available. For example, what applications are covered as part of the license."
"Licensing fees are paid annually."
"The product's price is average."
"The pricing is very flexible."
"I wasn't involved in the initial discussions about its cost. However, within the next year, by around June, I'll need to review the vendors' quotes. Typically, our procurement team handles the process by issuing an RFP to vendors to get quotes. From there, we evaluate based on pricing and may conduct a proof of concept to assess value."
"Licensing is on a yearly basis."
"CrowdStrike had an advantage over Trend Micro when it came to pricing. Trend Micro had several modules, so it was a little priced up, but CrowdStrike was not. However, even CrowdStrike has increased their price now, so probably both of them are on par, but the number of modules that Trend Micro has is far more than CrowdStrike. It comes with file integrity monitoring, application control, and web reputation. It has outbound URL protection, and it also has ransomware protection for servers, whereas CrowdStrike Falcon is a straightforward solution."
"The price of Trend Micro Deep Security could be less expensive."
"We are an original partner with AWS, so a couple of customers chose to directly take it from AWS Marketplace. A couple of customers will want us to take care of the billing. So, it's a mixed type of reaction that we receive from the customer."
"It is a very expensive solution. It would be nice if they lower its price. Its license is based on the machines."
"From a pricing perspective, I would say the product is economical...The payments are made on a yearly basis towards the licensing of the solution."
"The AWS licensing model is scalable and easy to use, but could do with tiered discounts. I am not sure how well this model will scale when we start to use Auto Scaling with AWS resources."
"On an AWS defined scope, it will cheaper than buying the on-premise service. We did a trial for the on-premise version, but we decided to go with the AWS version. We are downsizing our server room, and it didn't make sense to put more machines in there."
"It's more expensive than other solutions, such as Sophos and Kaspersky, as an endpoint solution."
