A potential area for improvement is enhancing support for cluster environments and distributed Vaults. Clients in multiple countries that need central access have different challenges that require better solutions from CyberArk. For financial services, CyberArk can improve incident response by ensuring fast support for critical priority tickets to meet compliance requirements. Providing more documentation on CyberArk is recommended for new team members to enhance their troubleshooting capabilities. I understand it's up to the client, but 99% fail to change the demo key, so it's crucial for CyberArk to emphasize changing the key and documenting it as part of the installation process.

Utilize support for installation. They are quick to respond, and quick at getting to the bottom of issues.
Not really. When following the written instructions, it goes pretty smoothly. Sequencing of the products needed for IE: * The database * The dashboard * The licensing server. It is intuitive, but spread throughout the instruction manual. For instance, you have to change the password for the Records service, and it is on a last page. Just read through the whole manual.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"As an end-user within the organization, I can't and I don't need to know the passwords of privileged accounts as CyberArk is taking care of the password/SSH Keys management on the target machines."
"It is a robust product."
"We are maintaining compliance in PCI, SOX and HIPPA, which is a big thing. Auditors really like it, and it has made us stay compliant."
"Initial setup was very easy; we started integrating systems and providing access to systems within a few days."
"CyberArk probably has probably the best vault on the market because of the multiple layered security and each password getting its own encryption."
"The solution is stable and reliable."
"We know when passwords will be expiring so we can force users to change their passwords, as well as requiring specific password requirements for length, complexity, etc."
"CyberArk Privileged Access Manager's main benefit is it provides secure access to our servers. There are features to capture the user activity, it provides video recording processing. If the users are logged in to the server, we can see what activities they are performing. It's a very nice tool for Privileged Access Management. They have plenty of useful services and the solution has fulfilled our needs."
"We have used the Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) and Citrix session recording features, and have found them to be extremely valuable."
"Customer Service: Excellent; attentive, acquainted with networking environments, and seems to be genuinely interested in getting us the right solution at the right price."

Cons

"They can do a better job in the PSM space."
"We're still struggling with the use of RDP through PSMs."
"My concern and area for improvement revolves around reporting."
"I'm not a fan of technical support with CyberArk. It's like jumping through red tape and hoops."
"Initial setup is complex. Lots of architecture, lots of planning, and lots of education and training are needed."
"It should be easier to install. It is a comprehensive product, which makes it difficult to install. You need to have their consulting services in order to get it all installed and set up correctly because there is so much going on. It would be nice if there were an easier way to do the installation without professional services. I suspect they get a fair amount of their money from professional services. So, there is not a huge incentive."
"The usual workload is sometimes delayed by the solution."
"Having a centralized place to manage the solution has been something that I have always wanted, and they are starting to understand that and bring things back together."
"A built in utility that alerts when connections are made, either via RDP or ICA."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The solution is very expensive and requires a license. We pay for an enterprise license."
"The price of this solution is quite reasonable."
"CyberArk Privileged Access Manager is perceived to be somewhat overpriced compared to similar market products. It is a little bit overvalued. It could come down a little bit for my liking. However, the industry-leading reputation and the quality of service justify the high price point to some extent."
"My company always complains about the cost of CyberArk Privileged Access Manager because it's too high."
"This solution is considered to be more expensive than others out there on the market today."
"I'm a technician so I don't handle the licensing for CyberArk Privileged Access Manager, but I know that the price for the core license is about €140 per year. There's another type of license, the external vendor license, and that's about €600 and you can manage twenty devices. From what I know, the price for one device in a subscription is about €65 per year. You can buy the CyberArk Endpoint Privilege Manager too, or you can buy some other application or application license with CyberArk Privileged Access Manager, but all other features, such as the Analytics Server is included in the basic CyberArk license. With WALLIX, you need to buy separate licenses for the features."
"The pricing for CyberArk is on the higher side compared to other Privileged Access Management products. Something should be done regarding enterprise licensing for long-standing customers."
"The product's licensing is yearly. I would rate the solution's pricing a six out of ten."
"We went with subscription licensing. It paid off big time for us as we installed the V.3, and just received V.4 without paying for the upgrade."
