Straightforward installation, complete solution, and good support
Everyone in my organization is using the solution. The solution is scalable. IBM Cloud Identity Connect, generally speaking, it's an enterprise solution, you want to find something that's going to cover all your requirements. You don't want to select something that you then find has gaps. You need to have a very clear, well-defined list of requirements upfront, because, otherwise, you will find that you're trying to patch together a lot of different technologies to make it work. You want to find a single solution that does all of the things that you need.

Effective product tracking and monitoring enhances daily operations despite needing documentation improvement
The documentation part of Workspace ONE UEM can be confusing. The documentation is not comprehensive compared to other VMware solutions or Microsoft documentation. Most people struggle to connect the dots when looking at the documentation. Even the training material and PowerPoint slide decks that trainers use are sometimes too confusing or overwhelming, with too much content but not enough clarity. The support side has recently become weaker compared to what it used to be with VMware. This is another area that needs improvement. Since working with Workspace ONE UEM from when it was AirWatch, it has improved significantly over the last five years. However, there are still some gray areas and scope for improvement, especially in documentation and workflow between different aspects of the solution.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"IBM Cloud Identity Connect is a complete solution with all the pieces that are needed are there."
"Its value is when you use it with a Workspace ONE UEM solution as it is part of the ecosystem for VMware Workspace ONE."
"Its UI is extremely easy to use whether you're an advanced user or a novice user."
"It's perfect for our customers and our company."
"When compared to other products, AirWatch is highly scalable, redundant, reliable, and easily manageable."
"This product enables us to replace all existing stores PDA running windows CE with iPod touch."
"Imagine that your business apps on your mobile device, for instance, no longer require you to type in your username, password, or second factor of authentication—as long as you're handling a managed and trustworthy device, you can seamlessly log in to applications."
"The solution can scale."
"Right now, everything that I've looked at from an AirWatch standpoint that it says it does this, this and this, it has been able to do and do well."

Cons

"IBM Cloud Identity Connect is more expensive than other solutions."
"They do have a good integration, but there is a long way to go as far as integration is concerned. They need to integrate with the cloud solutions a little bit more. We are looking for Azure integration."
"The license could be better."
"The product's initial setup phase was quite complex."
"VMware Workspace ONE for the new users or the new clients that they try to procure and learn it, there can have difficulties. It does not have user-friendly portals. The portal seems to be more user-friendly in Microsoft solutions."
"Setup is not too complex."
"We have faced some issues with the stability of this solution. It is not as stable on mobile devices as Jamf Pro and Mac devices."
"The mobile device repository is somewhat difficult to manage with a large user base."
"It was a bit complex on the setting up of the policy, at first."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"IBM Cloud Identity Connect is more expensive than other solutions."
"The solution can be costly when the customer is dealing with multiple platforms. If a customer is only dealing with iOS, Windows, and Android then Intune is the better choice because there are free licenses."
"We pay approximately $6.50 per user for the standard version. If you are paying for an enterprise license that includes VDI then it will cost approximately $25 per user on a monthly basis."
"I rate the product price a five on a scale of one to ten, where one is cheap and ten is expensive."
"The pricing currently is higher than the competition."
"There is a separate cost for technical support and extra premium features. The pricing should be simplified."
"In some cases, a customer may feel the solution is expensive."
"I think the pricing of the product needs advisement. It would be great to bundle the VM products together. I think the actual box itself should be included in the license. At present, it is not paired with the mobile device."
"All licenses from VMware are only yearly. They start with a yearly license and look for a three-year commitment and yearly PO."
