Reliability and reasonable pricing enhance data center management
I researched on peerspot.com about IT solutions, specifically about HPE BladeSystem and HPE Synergy, because we are already using HP servers in our state data center. In HP Cloud System, we are using a converged infrastructure to connect LAN and SAN connectivity across the network. Regarding Virtual Connect technology, there is a noticeable impact on network management. For day-to-day operations, we use various applications such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams to connect virtually. Using HPE BladeSystem Virtual Connect technology in HP Cloud System, we achieve efficient network management with well-defined LAN and SAN connectivity. We already have a defined modular architecture in place designed by the HP team for our data center. My company name is National Institute for Smart Government, also called NISG, under the National e-Governance Division. My title is Technology Management Consultant. I would rate HPE BladeSystem as an eight out of ten.

We're able to set-up multiple VLANs in it.
Hyper V was the best option in case of server fail-over & Storage option was the best with the VD pools assigned to the server modules We have improved a lot, and our customers are very satisfied with the product. We're able to set-up multiple VLANs in it. I think that Intel shouldn't have…

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The solution has good performance."
"The solution is very easy to use; it's user-friendly and simple to navigate, the space conservation it provides is excellent, it helps compact the server, the product is quite stable, its performance is reliable, and the solution can scale so a company can expand it if it wants to."
"In three years, we have not had any issues with enclosures nor with server instability."
"We get higher density and better hardware maintenance."
"HPE's customer service is almost perfect, they are number one, at least in this class."
"The product has a lot of options for checking servers and IoT ports using artificial intelligence."
"ILO for great control over servers remotely HPE SIM for efficient monitoring and inventory of servers FlexFabric for its flexibility and ease of use"
"It has reduced, by about 50%, our administration time in terms of server maintenance and we have the ability to withstand an outage that we didn’t have before."
"We have improved a lot, and our customers are very satisfied with the product."
"The MFSYS25 is a relatively cheap blade system with a built in "mini" SAN."

Cons

"The tool must provide integration with the cloud."
"We sometimes have compatibility issues depending on the browser that you are using. For example, sometimes you have to switch between Edge, Mozilla, Internet Explorer, or Chrome to have things operating correctly."
"The ecosystem of software that comes with HPE blade has been lacking. HPE's Rapid Deployment Pack (was rebranded Altiris when I used it) is a clunky solution for imaging blades and it may have been replaced."
"We are looking for a new product more inline with our goal."
"The only side that must be improved is the active-passive interconnect module architecture."
"The solution could improve by having more automation, such as the automatic mapping feature that is available in the Synergy Blade series."
"The scalability is limited because you only have a 16-server by chassis, so you have to add more chassis, and you can't have a domain fabric like HPE Synergy, for example."
"Management Monitoring."
"The Intel Switches give very poor performance when mixed with anything else."
"There is one regular error which irritates me during production hours. It continually gives us COMPONENT UNFIT ERROR."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The price of HPE BladeSystem could improve. They need to reduce the price to be able to compete better with other vendors, such as Dell."
"The pricing is competitive."
"Add OneView and ILO advanced to the base product. Don’t adjust the price, but just include them."
"I need to pay for the license, and it is expensive. We make yearly payments."
"I don't have access to your financial information or the specific details of this solution's pricing. There are no additional fees. It is the hardware and the support."
"We have an annual license."
"The price for HPE BladeSystem can vary between $100,000 to $1 million or above. The price can be high."
"When you purchase HPE BladeSystem you have to pay for the support service. The first three years are covered under the warranty, and for any further support, you have to pay annually. When comparing the cost of HPE BladeSystem to other vendors, the fees are less expensive."
