Pros
"Forensics is a valuable feature of Fortinet FortiEDR.""It is very easy to set up. I would rate my experience with the initial setup a ten out of ten, with ten being very easy to set up.""Additionally, when it comes to EDR, there are more tools available to assist with client work.""Having all monitoring, response, tracking, and mitigation tools in one dashboard provides our analysts and SOC team with a comprehensive view at a glance.""This is stable and scalable.""The setup is pretty simple.""Fortinet FortiEDR's scalability is quite good, and you can add licenses to the solution.""The features that I have found most valuable are the ability to customize it and to reduce its size. It lets you run in a very small window in terms of memory and resources on legacy cash registers."

"The biggest strength of the solution is that it's an integrated product that includes EDR and antivirus.""It is a scalable solution and very easy to use.""The most valuable features of the solution are the ability to isolate or quarantine devices and block or detect Ransomware and other well-known tools that are used to exploit vulnerabilities on devices.""Blocking browser navigation is a feature of the solution with which we have experienced success.""Trellix has a user-friendly interface.""The product provides a one-click recovery of encrypted files.""This is a stable product.""What we're using the most and what we found valuable in McAfee MVISION Endpoint Detection and Response are Web Control, Advanced Threat Protection, and Threat Prevention features."

More Trellix Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) Pros →

"The response part of EDR was most valuable. We used that to separate the endpoint from the network. We utilized the solution during the instant response. We were also utilizing advanced malware detection capabilities, but we benefited the most from its help with the response.""We have a cloud-based instance, so we can deploy all our configurations through the cloud. That's the beauty of FireEye.""It's good that it periodically scans all my drives. I can stay up to date with the status of my drivers and update them if needed.""If the network has seen something, we can use that to put a block to all the endpoints.""FireEye Endpoint Security is easy to use and lightweight compared to others.""I found the initial setup to be easy.""It is very valuable in finding out unknown malware.""The agents are easy to deploy."

Cons
"They can include the automation for the realtime updates. We have a network infrastructure with remote sites. Whenever they send updates, they are not automated. We have to go into the console and push those updates. I wish it was more automated. The update file is currently around 31 MB. It could be smaller.""To improve Fortinet, we need to see more features and technology areas at the endpoint level introduced.""Detections could be improved.""We find the solution to be a bit expensive.""Everything with Fortinet having to do with their cloud services. They need to invest more in their internal infrastructure that they are running in the cloud. One of the things I find with their cloud environment compared to others' is that they go cheap on the equipment. So it causes some performance degradation.""The security should be strong for the cloud. Some applications are on-prem and some are on the cloud. Fortinet should also have strong security for the cloud. There should be more security for the cloud.""We'd like to see more one-to-one product presentations for the distribution channels.""The solution is not stable."

More Fortinet FortiEDR Cons →

"The technical support must be improved.""Trellix does not support Linux and Mac.""Some modules that are doing machine learning and artificial intelligence are blocking our processes.""The dashboard and reporting features are not so user-friendly or intuitive, so they need some work.""One of the issues about the product stems from the failure to work on its administrative scalability. The aforementioned area can be considered for improvement.""An area for improvement in McAfee MVISION Endpoint Detection and Response is the historical search. For example: when you have information on the artifact and a precedent, you want to do a search, and that is a bit lacking in the tool.""The main drawbacks are resources and processing time, as it consumes a lot of CPU and RAM.""The solution lacks the ability to integrate with external platforms. In future releases of the solution, I would like to see the solution increase its integration capabilities with external platforms."

More Trellix Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) Cons →

"You do not have access to all the features when you use the Trellix web interface. For example, you cannot do device or drive encryption from the web interface. Also, when we're working with customers, it's sometimes challenging to get sales support. Delays mean we might lose an opportunity. Lastly, Trellix lacks some documentation about custom features.""The solution can be expensive.""MVISION Endpoint is only compatible with Windows 10 and Windows 2016 and above. If I were using a Linux operating system, I would not be able to use MVISION Endpoint.""The reports need more development. They need more details on the reports and more details taking the executive view into consideration.""Most of these types of solutions including others, such as Carbon Black and FortiEDR, all have the same features. However, Carbon Black is the leader when it comes to being robust and user-friendly and this solution should improve in those areas to stay more competitive.""There is room for improvement in the pricing. The price should be improved, it's high.""The email protection isn't efficient enough, and I'd like to see DLP features in the next release.""I hope the solution can be used in cloud systems going forward."

  • "It was an annual fee. There was just one overall fee."

    Reviews from Real Users

Below are some reviews and helpful feedback written by Fortinet FortiEDR users.

An Owner at a security firm says, "The features that I have found most valuable are the ability to customize it and to reduce its size. It lets you run in a very small window in terms of memory and resources on legacy cash registers. The customer has literally about 800 cash registers. That was the use case for Fortinet FortiEDR - to get that down into a tiny space. The only way to do that was to use this product because it had that ability to unbundle services that were a surplus.”

Chandan M., Chief Technical Officer at Provision Technologies LLP, mentions, “The ease of deployment and configuration is valuable. It's very easy compared to other vendors like Sophos. Sophos' configuration is complex. Fortinet is a lot easier to understand. You don't need a lot of admin knowledge to do the configuration.” He also adds, “The security is also very good and the firewall response is good.”

Harpreet S., Information Technology Support Specialist at Chemtrade Logistics, explains, "It notifies us if there's any suspicious file on any PC. If any execution or similar kind of thing is happening, it just alerts us. It doesn't only alert. It also blocks the execution until we allow it. We check whether the execution is legitimate or not, and then approve it or keep it blocked. This gives us a little bit of control over this mechanism. Fortinet FortiEDR is also very straightforward and easy to maintain."

DeAndre V., Senior Network Administrator at a financial services firm, states, “The dashboard is easy to follow and use. The deployment and uninstalling were easy. I like the detailed information about the path of a file that might be suspicious. Being able to check that out was easy to follow. Exceptions are easy to create and the interface is easy to follow with a nice appearance.
