Efficient data storage with reliable and easy management
We are working on monitoring software that involves making a lot of measurements with sensors. We store all the data in Firebird, which is why we use It primarily for data storage It's difficult to describe how it has improved our organization because we have been using Firebird for a very long…

Performs well with high database and reporting performance
We face difficulties replicating the AC DOCA table, which is a huge table, from S/4HANA to SAP HANA BAS, Business Application Studio, or HANA Studio using SLT. For developing Power BI reports using the AC DOCA table, we are replicating full data daily. We want to implement delta load, and while we used OData service for one client, the delta OData service link is not properly updating delta records. Licensing costs with SAP HANA are very high. Due to high pricing, many clients are moving from BW on SAP HANA and S/4HANA to Azure SQL. I have worked with several clients who have moved all data flows to Azure and developed Power BI queries on top of Azure. Many clients are also using Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The certification costs are also very high, more than ₹1,40,000 INR. Previously, it was ₹30,000 to ₹40,000. I want to pursue three certifications but am unable to do so due to the cost.

"The most valuable feature of the solution is that it is reliable, offers good performance, and is easy to use."
"This solution is very fast."
"The performance in terms of processing time is unmatched due to the in-memory processing capability."
"The most valuable feature of SAP HANA is the interaction it provides with external suppliers and clients."
"Probably the main feature is its in-memory database."

"The solution is extremely stable; there is no downtime, the performance is very good, and you can upgrade and upscale without any downtime as well."

Cons

"I'd rate the solution five or six out of ten for the possibilities it has currently."
"On large databases, we have some difficulties."
"I don't think the solution is very scalable because the scalability of the performance when using more than one process is not very good."
"The main feature I expect is to be able to work with different databases at the same time because that's a wishlist item for me."
"In the next release, it should support JSON, XML, and replication with third-party tools."
"The solution could improve by providing partitioning and encryption. It is not at the higher level of database solution but it could be with some upgrades."
"Technical support and performance could be better. We have some problems with this solution, but we don't know if the problem is with the database or the configuration. For example, sometimes, the users can't access the database."
"The security of the users could improve in Firebird SQL."
"The main issue is the ecosystem, which lacks the widespread support that SQL enjoys."
"The solution's development platform should be more flexible and scalable to adapt to other solutions."
"The setup process and deployment process for SAP HANA is complex."
"I cannot recommend this product to users. I feel that SAP's approach of mandating customers to go with SAP HANA is not a good point; they should make SAP HANA so good that customers willingly choose it."
"I'd just like to see some more improvements done on the training, both on the functional training and technical training sides as a part of the complete solution."
"The price is high and could be a bit cheaper."
"The releases need to be more stable. It's surprising to still encounter significant bugs after ten years of the product being available."
"In practice, SAP HANA is very powerful, but I see areas where it could be improved to make life easier for users and teams, such as having too many Fiori apps with overlapping functionality, navigation not being intuitive for finance users, and users still needing to switch between Fiori and SAP GUI."

"There is an annual payment needed to use the solution."
"The price of this product is good."
