Gained full visibility and streamlined threat detection through behavior-based insights and AI integration
Initially, we got to have a lot of false positives when we onboarded, but nowadays it's quite smooth. We have fine-tuned our security policies and allowed different levels of policies to get rid of those false positives. Currently, we are getting a fairly good amount of incidents that are not false positives or benign, but actionable items. The process is streamlined. In the initial days, the operations used to get involved in a lot of benign and other activities, but now the process is streamlined. We are leveraging the auto-detection and remediation plans. The operations teams are now more involved in other business roles as well, not just looking into the logs and fetching out what's happening there. They have fixed a lot of things. Initially, they didn't have IAC code drift detection, cloud posture management, or security posture management, but they have those now. They purchased different vendors and did a merger with that. They have now Prisma Cloud that gets integrated and now they are working with Cortex Cloud. Everything that was negative has now been addressed, and the product altogether looks to be in a very better and mature shape now. Currently, it's more or less detecting the workloads with AI-based best practices. Since most organizations are consuming AI agents and other things, we are looking forward to seeing what other feature enhancements Palo Alto can support in that.

Provides strong threat detection and response through behavior analytics and network isolation
I have found the most valuable features of Kaspersky Endpoint Detection and Response Expert to be its ability to tackle the biggest challenges customers face when they have to mitigate any kind of a malware, ransomware attack, or online theft scenarios. The solution utilizes its HIPS, which is the host intrusion prevention system, behavior analytics system, and device control mechanism, making the antivirus capabilities of EDR quite strong. It is able to detect zero-day threats as well as historical or legacy malware, providing protection against current threats in the market and legacy malware. My opinion on the advanced threat detection algorithms in Kaspersky Endpoint Detection and Response Expert is that the ATP functionality is quite strong because it utilizes the behavioral analytics engine in the backend, which employs machine learning mechanisms to identify any kind of vulnerability or exploit running on the operating system level and the network level. If an attack is about to happen on the endpoint, it is able to protect over the network as well and checks for any illegitimate encryption activities. The machine learning capability within Kaspersky Endpoint Detection and Response Expert has contributed to improving detection accuracy and reducing false positives in my environment by helping me identify malicious activity and differentiate between any malicious activity on the operating system level and on the network level. I have seen customers with in-house developed applications that have no public signatures available. Once I whitelist a particular application, it intelligently whitelists not only the executable but also all the dependent services required to run that application. Furthermore, Kaspersky Endpoint Detection and Response Expert has successfully blocked network-level attacks on the endpoint. For example, during a recent DoS attack aimed at choking the entire network, Kaspersky detected the attack, isolated the device in a sandbox network, and alerted my SOC team via email for corrective action, thereby proactively helping me detect and protect devices from malicious attacks.

"ESET Enterprise Inspector's most valuable feature is EDR."
"I find the multilayered endpoint security the most valuable feature."
"Scalability-wise, it is a very good solution."
"The product's most valuable features are its performance and stability."
"Rules are the most valuable feature of ESET Inspect. They are created through XML language, and they track and filter events from endpoints. If the event matches the rule, the rule is triggered. Exceptions are the second most valuable feature because it gives you the power to filter false positives in large numbers. The third most valuable feature is the Learning mode that facilitates making exceptions for known processes with a good reputation."
"The rules are the best and most useful features."
"ESET Enterprise Inspector's greatest asset lies in its user-friendly interface, which allows for easy navigation and thorough analysis of incidents."
"This solution is easy to install, setup and monitor."
"This solution is quite responsive and the tech support engineers are kind and good."
"The content filtering options are good."
"It's just running in the background, it doesn't bother us, and we don't even notice it is there, while helping improve security in our organization with good protection on offer."
"The solution does a good job of filtering and blocking unusual traffic."
"The integration with our hypervisor is quite smooth, especially within the Kaspersky Enterprise environment. We have many virtual machines, and the integration is helpful."
"Kaspersky Endpoint Detection and Response is an effective protection solution."
"In terms of effectiveness, it's the best; it is easy to set up, the product is stable, and we can scale the solution."
"We have a central console and from there you can monitor all workstations via an agent."

Cons

"The only issues that we have are, one the cost, two the dashboard is not very intuitive, even though you can drill down within the dashboard, we usually have to gather information from other sources to determine locations and if its a false positive."
"Based on our experience so far, its implementation is quite complex."
"The solution should force customers to integrate with network traffic to see the full benefits of XDR."
"It's very time-consuming to log support issues and the people that answer the tickets aren't very knowledgeable."
"Cortex XDR by Palo Alto Networks is a very good product, but financially, it is very expensive, so the company should look into that area."
"If you compare it to SentinelOne, which has more functionalities and detection capabilities on an open platform, the pricing on SentinelOne is far more reasonable and cheaper than Cortex XDR by Palo Alto Networks."
"The GUI could be improved. It's a little bit cumbersome. It could be more user-friendly."
"Initially, we got to have a lot of false positives when we onboarded, but nowadays it's quite smooth."
"It is not a stable product. We were disappointed in the stability of this product in comparison to McAffee."
"The solution could improve the consumption of resources. The RAM and CPU usage increases during usage which can cause issues. We have three separate services and it would be beneficial if all were executed from one agent limiting the over usage of system resources."
"It is not a stable product. We were disappointed in the stability of this product in comparison to McAffee."
"The platform's price could be better."
"Every vendor is working on making the job of SOC analysts easier, with fewer false positives and more precise detections. ESET uses LiveGrid technology that provides feedback on the reputation of files and operations. It's hard to eliminate all of the false positives, but hopefully, we'll see some improvement with the advances in AI."
"One area that needs improvement for the product is ransomware protection, which does not offer complete security."
"The product is complex to configure, and there are too many errors that are not errors, making it an area that can be considered for improvement."
"It may be difficult for a first-time customer to understand all of the functions that are available to him."
"The solution is expensive."
"The technical support team should respond in a more timely manner."
"They could provide a source of visualization for the product."
"The lack of DLP is the main reason that our company is moving away from Kaspersky EDR."
"It is not easy to follow the kill chain of a potential infection or malware."
"The prices can go down a little bit."
"Kaspersky Endpoint Detection and Response should continue to improve its protection while adapting to the changing threat ecosystems. Having more advanced features would be a benefit."
"The solution could always be more secure."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The price of the solution could be reduced. I have customers that have voiced that the solution is good for the value but if I want to sell more of the solution the price reduction would help."
"Licensing for Palo Alto Networks Cortex XDR can be costly, especially when it comes to a hundred users. A license is required for each user, and the subscription must be renewed on a yearly basis."
"I am using the Community edition."
"The price of the solution is high for the license and in general."
"It's about $55 per license on a yearly basis."
"The pricing is a little bit on the expensive side."

"The cost depends on your chosen license type, like Pro or other licenses."
"This is true in the case of licensing, we do not have the most expensive products, and we don't have the cheapest product, it's somewhere in the middle. Perhaps a little higher from the middle, but we are known for what we provide to our customers, and they are pleased."

"The platform's licensing is affordable and straightforward."
"The platform is expensive; it could be cheaper."
"The solution's cost is reasonable compared to other vendors."
"The pricing is reasonable. Not too cheap, not too expensive."

"Endpoint's pricing is good, especially compared to expensive solutions like Sophos."
"The price of Kaspersky Endpoint Detection and Response is in the middle range compared to competitors. The pricing model is based on the users using the solutions. The cost for us is approximately 2200 Algerian dinars. The price of the solution could be reduced."
