Pros
"We can manage the entire system across the network and troubleshoot the pain points."

"Great out-of-the-box capability.""It delivers our customers many metrics, so they may make decisions""The ability to monitor any platform. We have Windows, Linux, AIX, and mainframe all being monitored with the same UIM infrastructure.""It gives an alarm when there's something going on, not just when there's an expected spike that happens every night on a server.""You can integrate clouds, hybrid infrastructure, and on-premise infrastructure into one product.""Having all of our information within one tool set; our alerts, our monitors, and the things that our operations team needs to function.""It is the foundation for our monitoring solution.""It is very scalable."

More DX Unified Infrastructure Management Pros →

"The solution helps to see client infrastructure. It has many boxes and blinks green or red when the station goes up or down. We have different domains for the device groups that we monitor.""The tool continuously improves, adapting to support new vendors and technologies. Importantly, it automates the process, triggering alerts when devices require attention, and eliminating the need for manual intervention.""The most valuable feature of FortiMonitor is user monitoring. We are able to see if the user is following the policy or not from their system. Additionally, the solution integrates well with Fortinet FortiGate and has centralized management.""With FortiMonitor, you can get all the logs of the traffic information of the destination or the source.""In FortiMonitor, we're linked up with our Netgear, CactusServer, and NOC. It's really valuable because everything's migrating to one dashboard for us system engineers. We can keep an eye on traffic, blocked sites, and the health of our hardware. That last part, about knowing if something's going to fail soon, is super important. It gives us time to sort things out before any big problems happen. As a system engineer, I need to keep tabs on everything – temperature, monitoring systems, and network operations. This data is really handy because it helps me ensure our site runs smoothly, whether it's turning systems on or off. Just last night, there was a system failure, but thanks to real-time monitoring, I quickly identified the problem and got the necessary replacement parts.""FortiMonitor is really easy to use for monitoring the logs on FortiGate...It is a stable product.""The most valuable feature of FortiMonitor is the overall ability to monitor the health of the environment.""The most valuable feature of this solution is what the devices are used for. We have big backups for our Cradlepoint solutions, but FortiMonitor is a great routing device and we love working with them."

Cons
"The Wi-Fi side needs improvement."

More Juniper Mist Premium Analytics Cons →

"CA UIM needs some improvement with performance reporting (if we compare it to CA eHealth).""The other element is that there are no real templates, out of the box. Let's go with an example where we do have the probe, which is great, and we do have a really nuanced customer with a small set of devices that maybe not a lot of other customers use. There might not be a template in place, so effectively we have the tool in front of us but we still need to develop a solution. So it would be really nice to see a little bit more of something like a central repository of templates that we could use. That would help us expedite our onboarding process.""It would be good to implement views showing the aggregated status graphically.""Currently lacks a mobile application which would be helpful.""The dashboards need to be improved.""There should be wider coverage of storage infrastructure.""I would like to see auditability. We've built our own audit functionality to ensure that every CI has the desired model configuration applied to it. And we run that on a daily basis. If that became part of the product, I think it might be a little bit less intensive in terms of resource, because we're doing it with scripts.""In the UMP, certain devices will show up multiple times and they don't correlate correctly. That's one of the issues."

More DX Unified Infrastructure Management Cons →

"We use FortiToken, and it's a pain to use because you have to send things through your phone and then confirm by email. Only after this can you log in. It's dual-factor authentication. I wish that I could just log in or bring up a dashboard where I could log in from.""The solution's initial setup process is time-consuming.""FortiMonitor needs to improve its alert system.""FortiMonitor could improve by having compatibility with other operating systems, such as Linux.""There is room for improvement in the FortiMonitor report. It is not ideal for showcasing to tech customers or managers, especially when trying to display high CPU usage from logins within a specific range of months or the most recent month."". Enhancements in the dashboard, such as clearer alerting, maintenance window management, software version tracking, and better visualization, would be beneficial.""FortiMonitor's monitoring could be much better. It should be like, in Palo Alto.""Sometimes, during high CPU usage, we cannot access FortiMonitor and must refresh it."

Pricing and Cost Advice
Information Not Available
  • "This product is expensive compared to other vendors (SolarWinds, ManageEngine)."
  • "The product-price ratio is better than other brands such as Fortinet or SonicWall."
  • "The license cost depends on the number of probes and robots."
  • "Reasonable setup cost and licensing prices."
  • "CAD $400,000 annually."
  • "Customers pay for the license and the support."
  • "Pricing for DX Unified Infrastructure Management isn't cheap at all. It's a complex tool, so you have to pay more. No one is happy with a large bill to pay, but if it's a complex product and you designed a complex solution to be monitored, it'll be your fault that you need to buy an expensive product, and that would be implicit in the design of DX Unified Infrastructure Management. Monitoring is just a small part of it. Sometimes you have to pay a significant amount of money for a complex yet very good solution."

  • "The price of FortiMonitor is approximately $200 annually for 225 users. The price is competitive."
  • "We have a large customer base for Fortinet, and the additional buying power got us really great discounts."
  • "There are additional costs needed for certain functionality, such as scalability."
  • "On a scale from one to ten, I rate the pricing a nine since it is a good solution that is available at a cheap price."
  • "In terms of licensing, while it may not be the most expensive option on the market, it's relatively cost-effective. You can obtain licenses at a lower cost, with the calculation being straightforward. For example, if you onboard around 5,000 devices, you'll need approximately 5,000 licenses, as each device typically counts as one license."
  • "FortiMonitor's price is very high."
  • "Compared to other solutions, FortiMonitor is a very expensive solution."
