Storage has supported long-term CCTV archiving and improves on-premises application performance
I think it would be good regarding how Dell PowerVault could improve to have, in addition to the excellent support service that exists, some training courses, forums, and a training school for using these tools. Many people specialize only in this kind of equipment, and others have no idea how to configure them or how they work and always end up depending on people who have spent a long time working with these systems and know how to handle them more because of experience than because of information that can be easily obtained about using this equipment. Everything regarding additional aspects that could be improved in Dell PowerVault has already been mentioned.

Given its ease of use and management, I believe there are no specific caveats that users need to be aware of during the setup of DXRIS for backups. The process was straightforward, and I did not encounter any challenges or issues. As for a rating on a scale of one to ten, with one being the worst and ten being the best, I would rate the Quantum DXI Series a nine. My deduction is primarily influenced by personal preferences, particularly regarding the user interface and it is a highly commendable system, I would rate it a solid nine out of ten.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The Dell warranty is the most valuable feature."
"I believe Dell PowerVault is the best option on the market at the moment, especially for entry-level and budget solutions."
"The initial setup was easy and simple."
"The security of the backup and the overall system that Dell PowerVault brings to the table is definitely the most valuable feature."
"The most valuable feature of this solution is that it is easy to manage and easy to use."
"We have this solution running almost all the time and it's very reliable and stable."
"The storage has been good."
"For customers who require entry-level storage, Dell PowerVault is an excellent choice."
"I am impressed with the tool's technical alliance with Veeam and Veritas."
"While the challenges posed by the difficulties were significant, they prompted the replacement of problematic components, resulting in the resolution of issues. Importantly, there were no substantial ongoing concerns. Regarding the overall performance, it has been consistently excellent."

Cons

"We could set up the installation through a web server, but it's not very reactive on the web server. For example, when you launch a task, and you don't know exactly if the task has begun or if the task is in progress, or if it's finished. You have to wait for three to five to ten minutes to be sure that the task is running or in progress or finished. So at that point, it's not very good."
"There have been situations when our customers requested professional support and the price of that feature is quite high."
"If we speak about the negative side of Dell PowerVault, I do see some areas for improvement."
"Only once when the storage array seem to be very slow and caused VMware Hosts to not see the volumes."
"We've had some control issues."
"Sometimes, engineers or someone who does not have proper knowledge always give more storage than what is required initially, and then we cannot reduce that storage."
"Dell's technical support will guide you through the steps, but there are certain steps they are not able to do for you, so you might need a local service provider."
"The product could support an NVMe hard disk."
"Perhaps the most notable area for enhancement lies in the web interface for management. The current limitations in LDAP editing capabilities are not addressed in the UI, and I haven't observed any recent updates. It's possible that the new version of the DXI service incorporates improvements in the GUI, but I cannot confirm. While there is room for improvement in the current GUI, it remains a relatively minor issue. Overall, the system is comprehensive, covering aspects such as reports on latency and networking, leaving little room for additional enhancements in those areas."
"The product needs to improve performance while scaling out. It also needs to improve stability."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The cost, compared to other solutions, is on the higher end."
"Dell PowerVault's price is the tool's main attraction."
"I would rate the pricing model a nine out of ten, with one being expensive and ten being cheap."
"The price is reasonable and we are satisfied with it."
"I rate the solution's pricing a seven to eight out of ten."
"They are offering a wide range of support models for the customers such as basic support that is budget-friendly, but they also provide a professional support solution that is a bit costly"
"The price of Dell PowerVault could be reduced. It is more expensive than some IBM solutions."
"I rate the product price a nine on a scale of one to ten, where one is low, and ten is high."
"I do not oversee this aspect, as pricing is contingent on factors such as volume, technical specifications, and the desired features. Consequently, I lack information on the pricing details and structure."
