We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"Technical support is good. They are friendly and fast.""We have some customers who are in both SAP and non-SAP. When we do scrambling for different applications, it is extremely important that DATPROF and the SAP applications talk to each other and synchronize. Otherwise... [an] identity [can be] lost, from a name perspective.""We can create synthetic test data for our different development teams without needing production data, which is an excellent capability.""Its ease of use is valuable. It's pretty straightforward. With minimal training or with minimal guidance, it can be used.""I am very impressed with the capabilities of the software.""The data modeling software gave additional insights for debugging in the case of circular foreign keys.""The most valuable feature is that it's easy to use... We were able to quickly port a JD Edwards application into the DATPROF solution and we were able to scramble the data in that application. It's a single tool that helps us to do that across applications.""The most valuable feature of DATPROF Privacy for us is the possibility to mask sensitive test and development data on different kinds of databases. Furthermore, the tool comes with different useful masking functions. It is possible to mask deterministic and it is possible to add your own functions. The tool has an intuitive interface and customer support is fast and efficient."

"Data masking features are the most valuable, as non-production environments are used by diverse parties and data privacy has to be guaranteed.""I like the features compared to other tools. This tool is more flexible to use than other tools like an Oracle product or SAP product. I think IBM tools are more flexible, and this tool is also a good product.""The platform's ability to generate metrics is the most valuable feature for data management. It is a user-friendly and easy-to-use tool."

Cons
"Although it is possible to mask flat files inside DATPROF Privacy, the current solution is solid. However, it can be improved with an improved user interface.""Right now, we need to make process agreements with our supplier to keep our source and target database in line with the current production version. This may become an issue when (if) we reach a CI/CD level with multiple releases per day.""They could improve the solution by expanding the APIs. If there were options to integrate it with other solutions, that would help.""I feel that we have to do a lot of reworking of the template implementations... Maybe it is a limitation, but as a customer, it feels like we need to start from scratch every time. It would help if we could reuse at least some of what we have already done.""The synthetic data-generating element of the tool is relatively new, so we sometimes encounter bugs, though when we inform DATPROF, they act quickly to fix any issues. Of course, the fewer bugs we face, the better.""The product could be improved by adding functions to mask flat files and XML data.""From what I know, there are some challenges with respect to the number of data formats that can be made available. This is something that can be improved.""We organized the orchestration via ServiceNow/Runbook. It would be nice if DatProf software had this functionality as well."

More DATPROF Cons →

"I would like to be able to combine different masking functions on the same column map, making more complex masking without the need of writing an Lua procedure.""TDM's efficiency in terms of generating reports needs improvement. It could work faster.""I think it could be more secure. I don't have experience with the security aspects concerning PII data, but I think it can still be streamlined a little more. It could also have some more features, and the initial setup could be more straightforward."

    Overview

At DATPROF we see and understand the struggle and challenge of software development teams with test data. These data issues have different appearances. It can be in finding or understanding your test data: which set of data should be used to cover your test cases properly? Or it can be getting in control of your test data: do you also have a “test data ghost” - sometimes your test data is there and a second later in can be gone. Or it can be about the challenge of getting compliant without losing the representativeness of data in your development stages. And then there are things called data or databases. Software development teams need to work with test data, but they generally don’t spend too much time on databases or data content in flat formats. Software teams rather spend time in delivering beautiful new code or validating the quality of the software code, as you should. That’s what you love, and that “database thing”, well that’s a need-to-have.

We envision to solve this issue. We want to make sure your life is once again centred upon delivering or validating software code and quality. We take care that test data is easy accessible and readily available, so you can take care of software quality.

We improve and innovate our test data software with the latest technologies every single day to support medium to large size organizations to ensure an even better fit with our DATPROF products. The DATPROF test data management suite is module based, so it enables you to select and deploy the modules that fits your needs in your digital transformation stage.
