Multi-cloud costs have become transparent and teams gain persona-based insights to optimize spend
CloudZero is a multi-cloud cost management solution for enterprise organizations who want to view their cloud spend in a single dashboard with appropriate information and identify cost anomalies in a faster manner. The best features CloudZero offers include persona-based dashboards, meaningful data insights to optimize cloud spend, and telemetry data and integrations with other cloud platforms, along with email-based proactive cost anomaly alerts. CloudZero offers a single pane of dashboard to understand cloud cost visibility for a multi-cloud infrastructure, and we were able to drill down into unit economics to understand the unit level cost in each cloud platform. The governance and security are excellent, allowing us to create and assign permissions based on each persona, so the security features are outstanding. The accuracy and reliability are excellent by using CloudZero AI features, and we were able to get more meaningful data insights for optimizing cloud spend. The features are excellent and we were able to add the AI feature in CloudZero to get more valuable cost optimization insights. Using CloudZero dashboards, every team is able to understand their cloud spend by cloud platform and it helps to detect cost anomalies before there is a cloud cost spike.

Cost reports have driven accurate AWS workload optimization and continue to guide savings
I can suggest improvements for CoreStack, especially regarding reporting periods. I noticed that some of the cost optimization reports generated potential savings while considering systems that have only maximum utilization of 1% or 2%. The recommendations made in CoreStack to delete a machine have the potential to generate major cost savings, but such machines should not be listed for deletion if they have maximum CPU utilization of 1%. I have concerns about needed improvements primarily regarding AWS. If a customer is running ten virtual machines and one machine has a maximum of 1% utilization, it is considered as an idle instance in the report, which completely ignores that particular machine. This should not be the approach.

Pros

"The best part of CloudZero is the UI for creating dashboards."
"CloudZero's best feature is the dashboarding capabilities."
"CloudZero is a great tool; I have definitely enjoyed using it and have seen business benefits from it, so I am very happy with the tool."
"CloudZero has delivered practical benefits to my organization including faster cost investigation, better architecture decisions, easier executive communication, improved resource governance, and reduced manual analysis."
"CloudZero is a great solution for an enterprise organization looking for a third-party cloud cost management solution, and it provides meaningful data insights for optimizing multi-cloud costs."
"My advice for others looking into using CoreStack is that anyone who is looking to optimize their workload cost for public cloud services should start using CoreStack because of the reports and granularity it produces to optimize cost, which will benefit them."
"CoreStack has positively impacted my organization by saving hours of time for reporting—for example, the governance report which my employees used to take at least four hours for one customer, and since I'm sending out 20 reports every month, that equates to 80 hours, thus saving me two man-weeks every month and approximately $8,000 in pure savings if I estimate $100 an hour for my architect."
"Currently, I think CoreStack is the best FinOps tool available in the market, which is why we are using it."
"CoreStack helped me to manage the Cloud Security Posture Management across different clouds, including AWS, Azure, and other cloud providers, allowing me to view all the policies and misconfigurations in one centralized console rather than going to multiple consoles to look for violations and take actions, which was really helpful for me."

Cons

"I chose a rating of seven because I'm looking for CloudZero to focus more on the optimization side and Kubernetes clustering."
"We were applying various filters that they did not support."
"In terms of improvements for CloudZero, I felt there could be potential improvements in their budget section."
"CloudZero can be improved by ingesting more AI features for analyzing the database platform as a service, and we need more AI-related features in CloudZero."
"I would not recommend it to small setups."
"I noticed that some of the cost optimization reports generated potential savings while considering systems that have only maximum utilization of 1% or 2%. The recommendations made in CoreStack to delete a machine have the potential to generate major cost savings, but such machines should not be listed for deletion if they have maximum CPU utilization of 1%."
"I give it an eight because, as I mentioned, a few things from the billing operations need to be added, and we need more security features, particularly since the market is increasingly demanding better security tools for cloud management platforms, including cloud security posture assessments."
"I believe the multi-tenancy feature is present, but if it could be improved and secured further, that could be beneficial."
"I am not currently using CoreStack, as I moved away from CoreStack due to a lot of issues with accuracy."
