Improved industrial asset visibility has transformed risk management and compliance monitoring
I think there are some areas of weaknesses in Claroty Platform. The pricing could improve, as some of the features require licensing tiers and therefore the pricing could be higher. Claroty Platform could benefit from simpler licensing and pricing structures. The executive dashboard can improve as well, and they can expand their third-party integration. Additionally, their predictive AI-driven recommendations can be improved. I think it does provide for very good behavior analysis through AI capabilities and risk prioritization, which is generally quite trustworthy. As the capability of AI enhances, I think it can provide for better risk recommendations. Claroty Platform can have a better and simpler licensing arrangement. Their third-party integrations can expand. They can have better executive dashboards and more AI-driven predictive risk recommendations. I would rate them an eight for these reasons. Dashboards, licensing, integrations, and AI-driven recommendations are areas for improvement. Probably one more to add is that they can have better and more enhanced automated remediation workflows.

Risk monitoring has improved and real-time fraud detection provides transparent banking control
Dragos should be improved in deployment complexity as it requires OT engineering coordination. One needs to have proper engineering coordination to understand the system, deploy it, integrate it, and make all the complex things into one system. This is very challenging, and one should be really skillful and have experience to accomplish this. Cost is another area for improvement. The cost is higher due to site-based licensing and expert services. The licensing is very heavy, and expert services are required for deployment. Cost-wise is also challenging and needs to be improved. Integration needs alignment with IT security systems and compliance frameworks. Controlling cybersecurity where any fraudulent person or third party should not access the system is controlled, and managing that level of complexity is quite challenging. Since there is continuous monitoring, it can reduce operational risk losses by 20% to 30% annually. Controlling that huge amount of data and transactions, especially regarding storage, requires a lot of database space. The space-wise storage should be reduced.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The tool's best feature was the UI and the simplicity it offers."
"The solution offers comprehensive tools that greatly enhance your IT operations if implemented correctly."
"I like how the tool does passive and active discovery and threat detection and shows risks, recommendations, and vulnerabilities. It gives risk scores and gathers everything in one place - IP, device name, etc. We can integrate it with other tools for overall network mapping. It's useful for audits, compliance, and monitoring of all devices in the industry. It provides both monitoring and control. We also have SRA for incident response, which lets us search all alerts if we deploy the Claroty Platform."
"The main advantage of Claroty, when compared to its competitors, is integrated secure remote access."
"The solution's asset management is really great compared to Dragos or Nozomi."
"The platform ensures security without imposing significant delays, boosts productivity, and allows secure remote access to engineers through advanced methods while providing seamless integration with legacy systems and supporting both passive and active reconnaissance."
"I believe the two main aspects where Claroty stands out are their ability to provide a complete platform and their OT-specific focus."
"I have had a very good experience with the Claroty Platform."
"I have been working with Dragos almost since the time when they started the company."
"Dragos has positively impacted my organization by aiding us to compensate our time."
"Dragos' best features are that they are more focused towards Incident Response, so they have a dedicated playbook in their platform, making it easier for anyone investigating any incidents to investigate the alerts."
"Dragos especially ensures systems recover quickly, providing resilience, and it handles all the operational resilience in banking with metrics of 99.9% uptime, 30 minutes recovery time, and 99% transaction accuracy."
"Dragos is more expensive than other vendors, probably about fifteen to twenty percent more, but it is generally worth the investment."

Cons

"I've reported four bugs and three feature requests so far. The main area of focus should be on how attacks are detected. The attack vector information needs to be more detailed. For example, it's not enough to state that an SMB v1 version open can lead to a WannaCry attack. A more detailed explanation should help clients understand the various ways an attack could occur."
"The graphical user interface is quite poor."
"The Claroty Platform becomes too noisy when it gives numerous CVEs related to vendor match. Sometimes, these CVEs are not actually related to the device in the firmware at the site."
"More modularity would be helpful for Claroty Platform to improve its competitiveness."
"Claroty Platform could improve the pricing to get more acceptability in the market."
"We face issues in the alert investigation area because it does not properly give the alert communication patterns."
"The product could be improved in terms of user interface design."
"For improvement, I think the training could be more practical. We have external training, but they're mostly theoretical. I want the solution to provide hands-on lab experience to help users learn better."
"Dragos should be improved in deployment complexity as it requires OT engineering coordination."
"Dragos is very expensive, charging more than the OEMs. For example, if a PLC costs ten thousand dollars, a customer pays Dragos almost one to ten price in relation to what they would have spent building their plant."
"I think Dragos can offer more flexibility similar to Nozomi and more visibility into the assets, nodes, and links, which would make it more competitive in the future."
"Dragos could improve its asset visibility and discovery tools, as the competitor Claroty has better options in this area."
"From my point of view, Dragos cannot be improved at the moment, but having more user-friendly platforms would be good."
"Dragos basically helped us get to know the entire infrastructure because there were many devices that not even the client themselves knew existed or that were still active, making it a very good tool; however, it requires a lot of hardware and knowledge, especially expertise from people who have worked in the industry and know security, which was lacking in the company where it was implemented, leading to lucky hits but ultimately prompting my decision to change companies."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The tool is quite expensive."
"The licensing for physical devices is cheap, but the software version is expensive. The software version costs around 26-28 dollars. I was surprised and even double-checked. It was shocking."
"It's a bit expensive compared to other solutions."
