I had prepared for COC and the client. I work as a vendor for a client using Flow Mount for network performance monitoring. I focus on resolving client-side issues related to Packy Performance and quality use. This involves addressing network device issues, specifically Cisco network devices One…

Better support and more accessible resources are crucial. Customers have expressed that support is not as flexible, and it is difficult to obtain necessary information quickly. Customers would benefit from improved training material for integration with other products. The solution's pricing is high and needs to be reconsidered, and the technical support should improve to provide more accessible and open information.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The solution’s UI and single pane of glass is good. The new dashboard is modern with its new design. The look of it is not pretty, but it is efficient, which is good. It is user-friendly; you can find what you need on the interface quickly."
"It is not that expensive of a solution and produces tremendous value."
"The ability to measure performance end-to-end across the cloud data center allows us to take corrective action to keep our channels online."
"When a remote contact complains about a slow application, we can immediately pinpoint the cause of concern."
"The ability to measure performance end-to-end across the cloud data center allows us to take corrective action to keep our channels online."
"I think the analytics features are okay. My customer also likes the interface, the GUI, because it's easy to operate."
"Customer Service: Very good. Technical Support: Excellent and responsive."
"My customer also likes the interface, the GUI, because it's easy to operate."
"It’s easy to implement, a good solution for medium environments."
"Having all of our information within one tool set; our alerts, our monitors, and the things that our operations team needs to function."
"MultiWAN and Balance service"
"I would recommend DX Unified Infrastructure Management to others as it is a good and reliable solution."
"The feature that we've found to be very helpful is the way the solution categorizes the devices to identify groups, groups of devices and clusters. This allows us to be aware of their position within the topology."
"The technical support is very good, as we work closely with a dedicated project manager from CA who provides weekly status checks, troubleshooting, and responds to tickets fairly quickly."
"It has provided insight on almost all our information system components/layers using a single unified solution."
"Optimizes delivery of managed IT services with CA Nimsoft Monitor."

Cons

"I would like to see some improvements in parts of their synthetic transactions, which includes all the latency, jitter, and throughput."
"Embed a warning system to a mailbox when it exceeds the threshold for use of bandwidth over a given period of time."
"Because of the policies in Vietnam, we cannot connect the system to the Accedian cloud. It would be good if Accedian could provide a local cloud. In the next release, I would like them to focus on improving and adding more reporting features. This will help the operations teams."
"This solution is expensive compared to some others."
"It needs the possibility to export data because it is not easy to see larger data sets, e.g., for one month."
"It needs the possibility to export data because it is not easy to see larger data sets, e.g., for one month. It would be interesting to export data into a PDF or dashboard to keep a history of the situation."
"Combination with Avaya switches pose some problems."
"Support for more VoIP systems, Avaya, etc."
"Integration with other tools."
"The biggest concern stability wise falls under UMP, the management protocol. We’ve had a hard time bringing it up and keeping it stable."
"Technical support is OK. It varies depending on issues."

"We've had issues with pulling reports."
"Better support and more accessible resources are crucial. Customers have expressed that support is not as flexible, and it is difficult to obtain necessary information quickly."
"There are potential issues with the flexibility for the number of devices that we have because the scalability-performance issue is not fully vetted."
"I would really like to see HTML5. I spoke with a couple of developers about it. I'd also like to see additional monitoring so we can push rules a little bit easier."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It's not for free, clearly. But on the other hand, it offers very interesting functionality. We pay around €100,000."
"The solution was previously well-regarded, but after being acquired by Accedian, the prices have significantly increased. This has made it challenging to sell the product due to its high cost. It is an expensive solution."
"If you look into Riverbed, it's a licensing nightmare. You need to pay for every type of analysis... If you don't look into licensing, Riverbed and SolarWinds are pretty comparable. But if you look into licensing it would not be smart to go for either of them. On the pure, bare-metal basis, it's the same. But when you get the bare metal and a few basic licenses, then you need all those other licenses just to be sure that there's no issue... One of the great things about Skylight is you have them all, and you actually need them all."
"Pricing is a little bit expensive."
"The pricing of Accedian Skylight is really good. The sensors are low cost. Their model to analytics for sensors is by license, endpoint, or session. With the probes for their analytics, if they get deployed virtually, they are free. The licensing is only based on flows. So, you can effectively deploy probes everywhere in your network. Then, if you want to look at a specific type of traffic, you can enter into it with a very low cost license. You can just use things like spam ports, mirrors, TAPs, and aggregators to optimize what sort of traffic you send to these analysis tools. Then, if you want to start looking at more, you can up your licensed as you go. You are not getting forced into expensive appliances or subscription models."
"It provides value and the cost is not huge."
"The pricing is cheaper than other competing products, which is better for our budgets."
"We understand there's a significant cost difference, but have yet to investigate fully."
"Pricing for DX Unified Infrastructure Management isn't cheap at all. It's a complex tool, so you have to pay more. No one is happy with a large bill to pay, but if it's a complex product and you designed a complex solution to be monitored, it'll be your fault that you need to buy an expensive product, and that would be implicit in the design of DX Unified Infrastructure Management. Monitoring is just a small part of it. Sometimes you have to pay a significant amount of money for a complex yet very good solution."
"Reasonable setup cost and licensing prices."
"The license cost depends on the number of probes and robots."
"The product-price ratio is better than other brands such as Fortinet or SonicWall."
"CAD $400,000 annually."
"This product is expensive compared to other vendors (SolarWinds, ManageEngine)."
