We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The Juniper Ethernet switch feature I find the most valuable is reliability.""In terms of performance, Juniper switches have a more user-friendly interface and more features than Cisco products.""The solution is stable and scalable.""Juniper Ethernet Switches' best features are the high packer sorting and throughput, good uplink port capacity, and virtual setup.""You willuse almost every feature on every switch to some degree because the utility is valuable.""The most valuable feature is that Juniper is multiple kernels, so there's isolation, which means you won't get a process that runs away, creating problems across the whole platform.""Juniper Ethernet Switches are high-end solutions.""It is easy to configure, and there are three routing switches."

"The product is great for networking.""The solution is stable and reliable.""It is a stable and good product.""The installation process is straightforward.""The installation is easy.""The solution is very flexible.""What matters most to me is the security of the product, and Cisco does a pretty good job.""Administration can be done using the web-based interface."

"The most valuable aspect of this solution is the combination of value for money. They're extremely cost effective, yet they provide you with an extensive feature set of things you can do across the board. Also, they're pretty reliable, as far as equipment goes.""The solution is stable.""I've never had any issues with the solution.""It's pretty stable.""The most valuable feature is the ease of use.""I think they have very strong routers because they have multiple processors. I like its easy configuration with applications. For example, configuration with Linux, Iptables, and routing protocols.""The MikroTik Hotspot is great.""I like MikroTik's GUI. It's completely handy and easy to handle because of its GUI. Despite other brands like Cisco urging me to switch, I didn't because they don't have a GUI. This is the most comfortable thing in my project that anyone can use easily. It's effortless to maintain MikroTik routers because both screens make it very easy in GUI mode. You can easily interact with your hardware."

Cons
"The security features for the product should be more unified for the product regardless of the product model.""Stability could be better, especially during a reboot. We have had some issues recently with the software getting corrupt on reboot, which causes a lot of downtime.""The initial setup for Juniper switches is complex. Juniper has a new program that solves that problem a little bit, but it is expensive, so I don't use it. It is Juniper Mesh, Juniper Wire, or something like that where you plug in a switch, and it goes out to their cloud, finds a config, and brings it down. So, you can do everything cloud-based, but there is a fee for that. It is expensive, so I've never used it. If we were starting, we would try to do something like that. It is more for a large enterprise for managing hundreds of switches versus what we're doing. They should make its price more cost-effective or include it for new or smaller companies.""The only issue that we have with Juniper Ethernet Switches is the firmware because it is not stable.""The difficulty of the installation of Juniper Ethernet Switches depends on the environment it is being implemented in. It is fairly straightforward in terms of being able to source the technical information as we need it. However, this process could improve.""The only issue that we have with Juniper Ethernet Switches is the firmware because it is not stable.""The updates are constantly breaking.""Juniper Ethernet Switches would be improved by upgrading the uplink port in EX2300 categories service from 10G to 25G."

More Juniper Ethernet Switches Cons →

"They could work on the pricing and make it more affordable for everyone.""The pricing can be a bit unstable.""Cisco Linksys could be more secure. It could also add a controller to control all the devices, like the access points and so on.""It would be ideal if they could do more configurations and offer more flexibility. Right now, it's not flexible at all.""The price of the solution should be lower and it should have better security and scalability.""We are expecting one software that can run across all of Cisco hardware, software, and Cisco Switch router, similar to what Juniper has.""We are using an old version of this solution and it could be more stable.""The problem with installation is not the installation process, but the building. Sometimes our building has a high ceiling, so installation is hard."

More Cisco Linksys Ethernet Switches Cons →

"It could be more scalable. Product awareness could also be better. There's a lack of awareness when it comes to MikroTik. People only know about Cisco and others, and they won't rely on MikroTik. This is primarily because of hardware limitations. While this product is good economically, it's unsuitable for high-end projects. In the next release, I want this product to be more compatible.""They can improve the way the user interface is laid out. Their user interface is slightly geeky. There is more than one way to do the same thing in the user interface, and they need to work on that.""The initial setup can be a bit difficult. The configuration can take a lot of time.""Technical support could be better. They don't have good support like Cisco. It can also be more stable and scalable.""MikroTik does not have a wireless solution. If they created a high-performance wireless solution we would deploy it in our infrastructure.""There needs to be better support for this solution in India. We have no local support.""If the client wants bigger capacity, there may be some issues. That is, there may be issues with scalability.""The Soft-GRE support needs to be improved."

    Reviews from Real Users

MikroTik stands out among competitors for a number of reasons. Two major ones are its reasonably priced products and its user-friendly user interface, which makes it easy to work and communicate with its hardware.

Parameshwar P., a director at Navyug Networks, writes, "I like MikroTik's GUI. It's completely handy and easy to handle because of its GUI. Despite other brands like Cisco urging me to switch, I didn't because they don't have a GUI. This is the most comfortable thing in my project that anyone can use easily. It’s effortless to maintain MikroTik routers because both screens make it very easy in GUI mode. You can easily interact with your hardware.”

Rodney T., the chief solutions architect at Tech2go Strategic IT Solutions, says, "They are very good at providing the bandwidth for multi-tenants and multi-dwelling units. We're managing Wi-Fi hotspots for hundreds of locations, and the speed and performance are quite there. They also have very cheap 10G products that come with really good and flexible software. They are way cheaper than the top brands, and they're able to deliver the same performance and capabilities."

A principal consultant at a tech services company notes, "The most valuable aspect of this solution is the combination of value for money. They're extremely cost effective, yet they provide you with an extensive feature set of things you can do across the board. Also, they're pretty reliable, as far as equipment goes."
