We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The most valuable Aruba switch feature is the lifetime warranty. It is a plus point in the budget.""The initial setup is quite easy.""a value-for-money product and comparatively a very reasonable price compared to competitors like SAP or IBM.""The most valuable feature of Aruba Switches is its performance.""Aruba Switches is stable.""The most valuable features of Aruba Switches are the use of use and user-friendliness.""The most valuable feature is that it's very easy to configure.""Very easy and quick to setup and provide a nice dashboard providing a view of everything."

"The pricing is very reasonable. It's not too expensive.""MikroTik offers full enterprise capabilities at a very reasonable price.""It has a lot of features. I haven't explored them all yet.""We have use cases like providing power over ethernet, as an access controller for Wi-Fi, and normal networking.""This equipment is resilient and available at a good price.""One of the primary advantages is its competitive pricing in the market.""The initial setup is very straightforward. You can typically set them up in about 30 minutes.""The tool's most valuable features are flexibility and configuration. It can be used in large setups."

Cons
"There are some growing pains with Aruba Central. When you first launch the wireless access points or switches, a lot of updates are needed to get Aruba Central ready, especially on the access points, so the initial deployment time could improve. I would hope that I could just turn it on and leave the updates until later on. The switches themselves probably did okay. I'm primarily referring to the wireless access points. There was a lot of back and forth before everything was in sync. It took hours.""The main issue we had with the Aruba Switches was that they would heat up easily when placed outside. We have two locations with no cover in the corridor and it's a historical building. We experienced outages on the first batch of Aruba Switches we received, which we never had with the Dell Switches, for example, even though Dell Switches are not as well-known. However, the Dell Switches had been outside for a few years and we never had any issues with them. In contrast, we encountered an issue with the Aruba Switch after only one week of being outside when it shut down in security mode.""The customer service could be a bit quicker and the employees could be more professional.""They should provide training courses for certification, and have it available on the internet.""There is room for improvement in the pricing because the Aruba Central licenses add a high cost.""The firmware in this solution has a lot of bugs that become noticeable when you have complex implementations.""I would say that the customization of the switches could be easier to configure.""The biggest issue right now is the delivery timeline. It takes too long to get the product."

More Aruba Switches Cons →

"The solution needs to be more robust. In case of power fluctuations, MikroTik routers are more vulnerable to malfunctioning.""They could improve their product if they set, for instance, a controller for wireless LAN. That would allow them to really have something more than an access point.""The initial setup is a bit complex.""I would like to have the option of having multiple logins.""The product needs to include more power.""As far as improvements, there are basically only two things I would suggest. First, I think they should provide extensive training for the new releases of products, especially in the LTE space. Second, they could spend more time ensuring that their OS releases are more stable, rather than waiting for things to fall apart on the customer's premises before they make the necessary changes.""There is an area of improvement. The firewall features are self-contained, but features like email scanning and voice control should be improved. This is the best routing product.""The solution should improve the features of Wi-Fi 6 a little bit."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "The license is annual. If you purchase a switch, you get a one-year free subscription."
  • "The price of these switches is high."
  • "Comparing with Cisco, and some other solutions, it's a cheap product."
  • "The price for Aruba is quite a bit cheaper than it is for similar products by Cisco."
  • "It is expensive compared to the competition."
  • "There are no licensing costs for the Aruba Switches."
  • "The price point was a big consideration for us and it is reasonable enough that we're able to standardize on Aruba for the networking pieces in our organization."
  • "This is an expensive product, costing about double what most competitors do."

  • "This product is a one-time purchase."
  • "In our last project, we used two hundred units and the price was approximately 500 Shekels ($140 USD)."
  • "There is no licensing fee in addition to the hardware, but we do pay an annual fee for support."
  • "This product is cheaper than competing products by other vendors."
  • "There are not any external or hidden costs."
  • "The price-performance is great."
  • "MikroTik is very cost-effective and quite good for the price. It performs very well. For one of our customers, the existing setup comprises Cisco Catalyst switches, and it is about 10 to 15 years old. We're looking into upgrading in a cost-effective way to get the performance and yet still be at par with the quality and expectations that customers have from Cisco. Price-wise, Cisco is really expensive, and customers are expecting something different than Cisco so that they can save on IT costs. They don't have the same budget that they had before when they installed Cisco products. That's why they're looking for a solution that can provide performance and features without too much money or investment. We're looking at some alternative brands, such as NETGEAR and MikroTik, to support our proposal."
  • "The main reason we use this solution is for the price — it's very cheap."

Aruba Switches is a network creation solution that enables users to easily manage every aspect of their networks.

    Benefits of Aruba Switches

Some of the benefits of using Aruba switches include:

    • Easily access and manage every aspect of your networks. Aruba Switches give users a way to control their networks from a centralized location. The simplified control center can be accessed through both the cloud and on-premises devices. Intuitively view and manage every portion of your networks. You will be able to both analyze and control every device and client in the network while at the same time conserving resources for the areas of greatest concern.
    • Troubleshoot and upgrade your networks quickly and efficiently. Aruba Switches give users network visibility in real-time. It combines this with powerful analytics software that allow for the prediction, prevention, and resolution of issues. This allows administrators to act before their systems suffer serious harm. Additionally, Aruba Switches allow systems to maintain a high level of performance even during upgrading.
    • Automatically enact uniform system-wide changes. Aruba Switches gives users the ability to set their systems to automatically reconfigure when changes are necessary. Users are empowered to ensure that their systems run smoothly without worrying that there are parts of their network that are out of sync, reserving manpower and time for more pressing needs.

    Reviews from Real Users

Aruba Switches are cutting-edge network creation tools that stand out among their competitors for a number of reasons. Two major ones are the warranty that guarantees them and the intuitive way in which they are designed. Aruba Switches are protected by lifetime warranties. If a switch malfunctions or is rendered inoperable, it can be quickly replaced. If the line of switches are still available, HPE will send the user the necessary replacement. Aruba Switches are built to be intuitive for users to customize and manipulate. This allows users to make full use of the solution without requiring them to devote a significant level of resources to training.

The head of technical support at a real estate law firm writes, “One valuable feature about HP is the warranty. All switches are very similar when it comes to most functionalities. Most switches provide a one-year warranty, but with HPE switches, if there's a unit that malfunctions, we call them and they replace it the next business day if that line is still available. We had a switch we reported the other day, it was a 25-10, which we procured way back, around 2014, and they replaced it. In general, HP provides a lot of support for its products. We will be doing some tinkering on the VLAN soon, first the layer two, and then connecting the layer three functionalities for some other departments. The advantage of Aruba compared to other switches is their reliability. If the product is trustworthy, I'll continue to use it.”

A network systems engineer at a financial services firm writes, “Their technical support is great. I have used Cisco products, and as compared to Cisco, Aruba's command-line syntax is not as complex. The command-line interface of Aruba switches is quite intuitive. It also has a graphical user interface. With Cisco, using the graphical user interface for configuration can be complex, whereas Aruba simplifies it, and you can easily use the graphical user interface. The configuration is secured. Their graphical user interface is quite robust.”

MikroTik Routers and Switches provide all the features necessary for network administrators to secure and monitor their networks and are suitable for companies of any size. The solution is ideal for creating Wi-Fi hotspots, connecting multiple servers, setting up firewalls and VPNs, and distributing bandwidth. MikroTik's user-friendly dashboard helps you interact easily with your hardware. With MikroTik's user interface, you can obtain real statistics by user or IP address and monitor bandwidth consumption.

Benefits and Key Features of MikroTik Routers and Switches

    • Highly customizable: Flexible scripting policies and configuration options enable users to enhance the functionality of MikroTik's various products. MikroTik routers also offer hotspot profiles, which allows admins to create different customizable guest user authentication profiles.

    • Consistency: All MikroTik routers have the same operating system and features, making it simple to migrate between different products.

    • Routing protocols: MikroTik provides several dynamic routing protocols that can be deployed to build robust and secure networks.

    • Built-in firewall: MikroTik offers a very powerful firewall implementation with multiple features, including state inspection, layer-7 protocol detection, and peer-to-peer protocols filtering.

    • Stability and robust performance: MikroTik routers and switches are long-lasting, resilient, and perform well.

    Reviews from Real Users

MikroTik stands out among competitors for a number of reasons. Two major ones are its reasonably priced products and its user-friendly user interface, which makes it easy to work and communicate with its hardware.

Parameshwar P., a director at Navyug Networks, writes, "I like MikroTik's GUI. It's completely handy and easy to handle because of its GUI. Despite other brands like Cisco urging me to switch, I didn't because they don't have a GUI. This is the most comfortable thing in my project that anyone can use easily. It’s effortless to maintain MikroTik routers because both screens make it very easy in GUI mode. You can easily interact with your hardware.”

Rodney T., the chief solutions architect at Tech2go Strategic IT Solutions, says, "They are very good at providing the bandwidth for multi-tenants and multi-dwelling units. We're managing Wi-Fi hotspots for hundreds of locations, and the speed and performance are quite there. They also have very cheap 10G products that come with really good and flexible software. They are way cheaper than the top brands, and they're able to deliver the same performance and capabilities."

A principal consultant at a tech services company notes, "The most valuable aspect of this solution is the combination of value for money. They're extremely cost effective, yet they provide you with an extensive feature set of things you can do across the board. Also, they're pretty reliable, as far as equipment goes."
