Exceptional network support and AI integration drive performance while suggesting enhancements for future use cases
I work with both HyperFlex and other Cisco products. I prefer to make online support available because I can utilize my CCIE architect, solution consultant, and engineer team along with our account manager and product sales team. We can clarify requirements and decide how to support you. We should arrange a conference call about Cisco Ethernet Switches where I can invite my architect and consultant to clarify more about the features that are most beneficial for improving network efficiency. Today is AI day, and all the new firmware includes AI to optimize the performance, traffic, and security of Cisco Ethernet Switches. It's performing very well. With many solutions and vendors available, you have to decide on one. I am extremely satisfied with the licensing cost for Cisco Ethernet Switches. For the price of Cisco Ethernet Switches, I would rate it a 7. My overall rating for Cisco Ethernet Switches is 10 out of 10.

Provides robust routing capability but needs simplified documentation
I am using it, and I recommend it to my customers in the financial sector The router power is the most valuable aspect. I have not tried AppSec. Everything, I do on my own with Sage or something similar. I do not rely on technical support. I have used the solution for a couple of years, like…

Quotes from Members

Pros

"Cisco Ethernet Switches are pretty reliable, and I have rarely seen one of them break."
"The most valuable feature is the performance."
"When it comes to switching routing, we have no doubts about Cisco."
"The power stacking feature in Cisco Ethernet Switches can be considered the most valuable."
"We have a good technical support provider in Turkey that offers support, and we work closely with Cisco. Everything is sorted."
"I'm satisfied with Cisco switches. It's stable and beautiful."
"Remote access is a valuable feature."
"The features that I have found most valuable with Cisco switches are that once you get your configuration you can rest assured that it will work. The OS is not going to be failing intermittently or anything like that. Once you get your configuration end-goal right, the firmware and the OS are usually very stable enough to work a long time without support. Support is needed once in a while. My experience is that the Cisco switches are usually rocket."
"It is easy to set up the solution."
"There are a lot of features to control permitting or stopping packets in the network."
"The GUI is easy to use."
"The most valuable feature is that it has better throughput than its competitors."
"It's a well-rounded solution for routing."
"Some of the most valuable features are the simplicity, cost, usability, and power. As a package, it's extremely effective."
"The best aspect is that it remains affordable."
"The performance has been good."

Cons

"In terms of what could be improved, there is the bulk issue that is sometimes experienced with Cisco products we've used."
"AI technology must be involved in the future."
"The NX-API REST is not very good and should be improved."
"It could be cheaper, especially the DNA license. One DNA license is around $3,000 for a three-year contract."
"The solution needs to work on lowering the amount of bugs. We find them quite regularly."
"Cisco could definitely work on delivering improved pricing to its customers."
"It would be good for Cisco to provide certification to our engineers for our IT infrastructure. Basically to train and certify our engineers."
"The pricing and hardware warranty renewal costs are more expensive than other products."
"MikroTik Cloud Router Switch needs improvement in the area of security, although the recent models are addressing this."
"The user interface could improve and they should allow a license for IBS."
"The area for improvement is security. MikroTik is mostly used by medium and small businesses, so the security is not as robust as Cisco."
"Most of the time, the MikroTik Cloud Router Switch is stable. If I were to rate the stability on a scale of 1 to 10 where 10 is the best, I would give it a 5."
"It happens that you may find your network is down, if you reboot the switch, they come up. However, sometimes, they reset themselves. That's a big issue."
"MikroTik is mostly used by medium and small businesses, so the security is not as robust as Cisco."

"The solution does not yet offer a SaaS version."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Benefits of Juniper vs Cisco
Both are decent products. I prefer Juniper for the following reasons: 1) Cleaner separation of data plane from control plane. Higher end Cisco devices are better at this but most of the lower end products still seem to be more integrated than I like. 2) The Hierarchical config design means I can…
