Contextualized collaboration on records allows you to have historical conversations that are accessible by other users.
Chatter is a great way to connect your users, especially if your team is working in multiple time zones or locations. If you're struggling with why to use collaboration tools at all, I'd suggest you watch this video. One the best examples that I've seen is a property team who were managing the entire process from leasing properties with branding to shop merges via Salesforce. All of their notifications were email-based and they were getting 100s per day. By moving these alerts to automated posts into particular groups, the users could not only access multiple updates by using digests instead of per alert, but also choose to control who (group members) and how often they get those alerts.

Have streamlined daily workflow and task management but still face inconvenience from recent interface changes and limited integration options
There are challenges and issues in Microsoft Teams, such as after recent updates where group chats were combined with Teams, chats, and groups into one. Users have to work with settings to make it normal again so Teams are separated from chats, and that was a really inconvenient update. Many users ask me to help make it back again to separate Teams and groups from one-to-one chats. That's probably the worst update they've made recently. Additionally, there are some minor features, such as when I work with messages, I don't have an actual forward or quote option when replying to someone's message. I need to be careful not to miss the quote sign. For a lot of people, they are confused about where the quotes option is. I've received a couple of hundred support tickets just regarding this issue. The function to share email to Teams chat doesn't work sometimes due to our compliance policies, and sometimes it would be nice to be able to forward an email to the group chat and have further discussions. Microsoft Teams could improve by being less glitchy because it glitches a lot, leading to undelivered emails and undelivered messages. It would be beneficial if the MS application Shifts, which adds functionality to groups, could be integrated into the groups calendar. Currently, many teams don't use the app because it is not integrated with the general calendar or the Outlook calendar, making it basically a useless application. The platform needs less Copilot and more people. The general Copilot integration into the platform is less glitchy, but Microsoft Teams is quite heavy and glitchy sometimes. Stability depends a lot on compliance restrictions, policies, and quality of internet. Sometimes, when updates are enrolling, the platform glitches, breaks, or shuts down.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Salesforce being the number one cloud-based CRM product, I think one can recommend it in the first go."
"It is now possible to share information instantly with all the company without sending emails, but also looking for a topic using the search function."
"It helped us to strengthen our digital community all over the world with a dedicated group to share project information and best practices."
"It offers more than what you are looking for, for example, file sharing and "mentions"."
"I love the streaming feed of information from the people that I'm following that encourages collaboration at a business level."
"Salesforce Chatter allows for contextualized collaboration on records that allows you to have historical conversations, which are easily accessible by other users."
"The conversation function to engage different groups is the most valuable feature."
"I have participated in meetings with up to 500 people during all-team meetings, and it worked without any issues."
"Communication is really easy to handle."
"The corporate world widely accepts the solution for virtual meetings. Also, it has good availability."
"Microsoft Teams is user-friendly and flexible. I like its SharePoint feature also."
"It’s very easy to set up. It doesn't take that long."
"It is software that many people are familiar with, and if you have someone who needs to communicate with Teams, they will have the necessary software."
"The instant messaging and video meeting features in Microsoft Teams improve my productivity the most. Instant messaging allows for faster responses compared to email. With many colleagues working remotely, video meetings are often the only way to connect. I could even participate in my last meeting while driving to another city. Having meetings, with some people in a meeting room and others joining remotely, is also very useful."
"Microsoft Teams is a friendly and easy-to-install solution."

Cons

"Chatter invites should be possible from the UI on opportunity records."
"Live consumption of the communication needs to be improved so that it can offer more features similar to Twitter/Slack, such as a live rolling news feed, notification bells (to avoid email alerts), ability to share multiple files or actions in one post, etc."
"I wish an organization could create a company-wide Chatter that automatically follows everyone else in the company so that widespread access was guaranteed."
"We would not select them again."
"I would rate the technical support a 7/10 because Salesforce has its own way of looking at technical issues and sometimes takes its own time to implement or release changes as per their convenience."
"The storage of documents was quite limited when we used the tool."
"Microsoft Teams could improve the integration with Outlook because most of us are not using the last version of Outlook and it causes some issues."
"Its stability could be better."
"As an instant messenger, Teams is not as good as Lync."
"The solution needs to integrate ChatGPT so that the solution can summarize the meetings. The solution needs integration with AI. Copilot is already in the pipeline."
"The Teams functions can be improved and some other package should be introduced."
"I had to type the team members versus being able to set up a team's group of names as you can do with Outlook."
"For improvements to Microsoft Teams, I would say sometimes the tool gets stuck."
"We have experienced response delays with the product. It can be hard to understand where to click in the solution. Also, the solution should incorporate videos like 'How to use Teams' that can be popularized among customers."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"I don't think the solution is as expensive as big Webex licenses. It doesn't usually offer one-on-one licenses, so it's hard to compare. It's more expensive than the Google equivalent, but you can't replace Microsoft Teams with Google's offering."
"The tool's price is part of MS Office 365 and I would rate its pricing five out of ten. The tool's licensing costs are monthly."
"Microsoft Teams is expensive compared to other solutions."
"We have a license for the solution."
"Microsoft Teams is a cheap solution because it's included in the Microsoft 365 suite."
"It is affordable because it also includes the licenses on Microsoft Word, Microsoft Office and SharePoint."
"The pricing for Teams is very competitive."
"If you have content that requires more security and you want to use it in a more secure manner, with more protection, then it will come at a higher cost."
