Deployment meets needs with simple setup while improving customer support
We have deployed FortiGate 200F and 600E firewalls. The 600E was installed four years ago and is still running, and we deployed another 200F last year. We are continually adding base stations and wireless APs across our company network. For new users, there is a learning curve regarding installation, IP configuration, and technical issues. Since we have been using it since 2018, troubleshooting is not difficult for us. We have a server on premises that controls all the APs across our company. We have approximately 400 to 500 WiFi users across our company. We are not currently considering a different solution as it would require extra investment, which would cost too much for us now. I would rate Cambium Networks Wireless WAN a seven out of ten. Overall review rating: 5/10

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"What I find valuable is the fact that you don't need to purchase any license. Basically you just get the hardware for the access points, configure an IP and connect it with a switch."
"It's a good product and works well when there is a lot of interference."
"When we log in to the device, we can easily configure it. So it is quite user-friendly."
"The features I appreciate most in Cambium Networks Wireless WAN include its licensing model."
"The feature that I really liked is the mesh feature. Currently, we are in quarantine, and the request of home users is that they need to cover the whole house or the whole indoor house. Mesh solution works really nice in Cambium environment. Being able to set up access points in advance is a good feature. It lets you set up the whole environment in your lab or any other place before deploying the access points."
"It is a good product for cloud management."
"The solution offers excellent product performance, long-distance coverage, and link reliability."
"Cambium Networks' PowerMax feature has been particularly beneficial for WAN connectivity, offering superior coverage compared to other solutions. The standout feature of Cambium Networks for me is its extensive coverage area."
"We've found the scalability to be good."
"HPE Wireless is easy to use. Integration is not an issue. It is easy to integrate HPE Wireless with any operating system and other brands of switches."
"It is a new product backed by HPE's expertise in networking and telecommunications. We can also work with 3Com products."

"The solution is easy to use."
"The support has been responsive and helpful."

Cons

"Cambium Networks Wireless WAN is stable but sometimes the 2.4 gigahertz network is sometimes not as stable as the 5 gigahertz. The 5 gigahertz works smoothly with everything, but 2.4 has some problems. If we change the configuration I am not sure if it would fix the problem."
"If they could move from the fixed wireless point to mobile, it will make a big change in the market. The cnPilot coverage should be covering big spaces. It should also have an external antenna, not a built-in antenna."
"The Wifi coverage and throughput performance of Cambium could improve."
"Pricing tends to be higher than its competitors."
"The solution needs to add an LTE solution and/or something in 3.5GHz."
"The Cambium user interface and configuration should be improved."
"Cambium Networks Wireless WAN's support services could be better."
"The product could have more access points to increase the network coverage."
"Integration might be improved, particularly with a single sign-on for Active Directory."
"HPE should improve performance and stability."
"The solution works smoothly unless more than twenty users connect to a single access point, at which point it becomes overloaded."
"The tool must warn the management about unwanted traffic."
"In the next release of the solution, there should be better integration with other platforms."
"The price of HPE Wireless WAN should be reduced."
"It's very old-fashioned, which is why we have made the decision to replace it."
"The HPE Wireless dashboard could be more user-friendly."
