Meets the needs of the customer but all of the features need improvement
I do not choose the solution. The client does. I am an implementer. We are systems integrators. It is worth mentioning that the solution should be easy to install and offer the user exhibition capabilities. Also, a data sheet should be used to gather information about the product, to facilitate easy and simple implementation. I rate CA Unified Communications Monitor as a five out of ten.

PRTG Network Monitor can be improved because the dashboard themes feel outdated. It should be updated to a newer version for the new Gen Z customers. The notification sound options are limited unless customized. Restarting probes after Windows updates is necessary, and there should be some kind of automatic restart. The initial auto-discovery added too many unnecessary sensors, so auto-discovery should only take the necessary sensors into consideration.

"Good end-to-end monitoring"
"We use the solution to meet the needs of the customer."
"Our users perceive it as our being able to provide a very high level of service because we're avoiding situations where they suffer downtime."
"One of the valuable features is the diversity of metrics available to us to monitor. It's all there, it's all in the box. It's all made very easy, by virtue of it being pre-configured."
"If you're looking from a holistic infrastructure deployment and monitoring perspective, it's a good tool to use and to start with."
"Technical support has been very helpful so far."
"It is a user-friendly solution."
"You will not find anything cheaper that really does the job."
"The feature set is very strong compared to other products that I have used; it's great because it does everything that we need it to do, it's easy to use, and it looks great when you present it in an open office environment."
"PRTG Network Monitor has positively impacted my organization; before PRTG Network Monitor, it was very difficult to monitor a wide variety of sensors, but since implementing it, which supports numerous sensor types and protocols, it has become much easier for us to monitor servers, virtual systems, and cloud services to some extent."

Cons

"The solution should have automatic baseline detection."
"All the features and functions of the solution can be improved, specifically the user experience."
"It's very good for monitoring our internal infrastructure, but we're using more cloud services now."

"I would like to see them take their graphing tools and convert them into a collector so that we can point telemetry to them"
"We would like to monitor certain aspects of the user experience. We should be able to analyze the cause of end user experience, bad or good, so we can do some research and development on our own."
"Dashboards can look cluttered on smaller screens, and the UI can feel crowded when there are hundreds of sensors in one group."
