Has significantly improved document-driven workflows and reduced processing time across finance and HR functions
Automation Anywhere has evolved significantly and upgraded itself to provide agentic AI and AI-based automation solutions for document automation. The product has matured considerably over time. We can create workflows that can call an API. We can include prompts in particular workflows for ChatGPT-related functions, connecting to an LLM and RAG to perform tasks. For document automation, modern features are available to train documents, ensuring high accuracy and repeatability over time. The system is very easy to use. I recently completed a course in document automation, typically designed for people involved in coding and technical aspects. Though I understand coding comprehensively, I don't do actual coding. The course was very accessible. Currently, extensive coding isn't necessary due to the hybrid model incorporating GenAI aspects, low-code, no-code capabilities, APIs, and numerous pre-built objects in Automation Anywhere. The features include GenAI-driven prompting methods and workflow creation capabilities. In these workflows, we can create decision boxes and call APIs without coding. We simply pull objects, drop them, connect them, and add minimal coding when needed. The most crucial aspect isn't coding but rather sizing the automation and fleshing out the details. Automation Co-pilot takes notes and performs automated analysis. It can extract details from videos, summarize conversations, and provide detailed information. During calls, it identifies instructions and performs tasks such as preparing reports and reconciliation. Automation Anywhere can also connect with Microsoft Co-pilot. Through Co-pilot, real-time operations can be executed, allowing direct interaction between vendors and automation through this component.

We've saved significant time by reducing manual processing
Boost has helped to reduce our interchange costs. Intercept's virtual card payment process has reduced fees by about $350,000 to $400,000. It generates a custom file to import into our system, making posting easy. We didn't realize the full benefit until a year into our deployment. They didn't have a report built for us yet, so we weren't posting in real time. We added customers to it, so we got some immediate financial benefits, but the reporting didn't come until later. We've saved significant time by reducing manual processing using Boost. It has saved our team about 10 to 15 hours monthly. It has also saved our card processing costs by around $350,000 to $400,000 and ten hours of time a month. It saves us around a quarter of an FTE.

Automated cash reconciliation has reduced manual workload but still needs broader channel coverage
HighRadius Accounts Payable can be improved by being flexible enough to accommodate various airline processes and other processes. The experience we had has been limiting in the channels it can accommodate, as we were only able to do cash. It needs to be flexible enough to incorporate card transactions, web sales, BSPs, and other types of channels. Flexibility is key, and HighRadius Accounts Payable really needs to enhance its capability to accommodate the different sales channels that various companies have. Regarding needed improvements or any other challenges I have faced with HighRadius Accounts Payable, the initial post-go-live support was lacking as we were redirected to a company in Poland. HighRadius Accounts Payable needs to ensure dedicated support from the team that does the actual implementation, even if outsourced, as good support is crucial for navigating different scenarios and challenges that arise after going live. We did not have good support initially, so that is one thing that needs improvement. I choose a six out of ten mainly due to support, which is very important, and because of flexibility; HighRadius Accounts Payable was not able to capture our end-to-end receivables. We could only capture part of our receivables and not all the sales channels we have, such as web sales and BSPs, along with other manual channels we could not reconcile with it.

Pros

"Co-pilot certainly makes the job easier if the client has a subscription. It allows me to analyze desktop flows and activities and create flows using natural language."
"We've shifted platforms a couple of times, and Automation Anywhere is the one that stuck based on end-user experience, the ease of development, and trainability with the tool."
"Automate Anywhere can just mimic what a human does."
"By automating those processes we achieved high ROI, great customer satisfaction, better STP, reduced manual work, reduced processing time, high accuracy, and 24/7 working capacity with the AA bots."
"Overall, Automation Anywhere is a very user-friendly and easy-to-use tool, and if clients are looking to implement automation into their business, I would definitely recommend Automation Anywhere over other tools because it is well-suited for their purposes and can be easily utilized."
"It's very easy to use. It helps streamline manual processes."
"By implementing processes using Automation Anywhere, we can save up to 3,000 euros within two weeks of development."
"With its user-friendly user interface, our developers are able to quickly pick it up."
"The value we get from Boost is that we don't need to run credit cards on our network. They consolidate the cash and give it to us."
"As far as credit card processors or third-party credit card payment issuers go, they are fairly easy to work with. People we work with tend to be responsive when we have concerns or questions."
"Since we have started with it, we have saved over 400 hours of human intervention and human processing."
"The impact has been that it increased our onboarding of vendors to the program, enabling us to grow tremendously."
"I just like that Boost is hands-off. That's the biggest thing for me."
"The Boost Intercept service is responsive and provides excellent on-the-spot communication, invaluable for addressing my numerous questions."
"Their customer service is excellent. The automation streamlines the process for supplier success cards."
"Since switching to HighRadius Accounts Payable, I can share that before, we could only process 30 items in Siebel because of the lags, but in HighRadius Accounts Payable, we can process 60 items or deduction claims."
"HighRadius Accounts Payable has significantly reduced the manual work and workload we have had because we used to manually reconcile cash, with accountants applying receipts manually, and that process has been largely eliminated due to automation, providing us with room to carry out other value-adding processes."

Cons

"If the deployment is not right, you get the frustration, not the automation."
"We had a major issue when it came to single sign-on. We couldn't get it working. There was a bug in Automation Anywhere that eventually got solved just a few weeks back. However, we have not implemented it. We have had hiccups with the single sign-on, but otherwise it was a smooth setup. We are not using single sign-on because of this bug."
"Excel, Outlook, and Word automation are very difficult with V11."
"In the Microsoft Excel features, it needs a command to wait for a calculation to complete."
"We tried Citrix six months ago, but the solution that they gave us did not work in our environment."
"As a developer or user, I feel that the performance of the overall package could be made a little better or reliable. For example, if I'm opening up a heavy Excel file, which is uploaded in some shared drive over the net, and I have my box coded to open that Excel to do some work or formatting on it, and depending on the network load and the size of the file, this client version while trying to access that file becomes unstable at times. It goes into the hang position until a human being comes in, ends the task, and restarts it. Until this happens, it does not respond."
"Some things that I do not see as of today are interactive chat or video interface."
"I suggest increasing assistance from support personnel."
"Boost could add a dashboard to show who's paying us and when. We could see if there's an issue with payments and correct it. Currently, we need to wait for the file to come in or the customer to tell us about the issue."
"The pricing, in some instances, is an area for improvement."
"It would be nice if Boost had a portal where you could log in and see the transactions. I'm not sure if they don't have one, but I suggest getting one."
"They have pretty much accommodated every special request I have had. The only thing that I can think of improving is reverse prospecting."
"If it was possible to have our payments go through Boost but have Boost initiate something like ACH payments, that would be great."
"I think HighRadius Accounts Payable can be improved in the cut-off time or the cut-off timing because I think they are linked to the SAP system, so we have a cut-off time in HighRadius Accounts Payable when clearing a deduction."
"Customer support is not good; initially, we had support directed to Poland, but we recently moved to the HighRadius Accounts Payable team, which is a bit better."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The Community Edition is a good offering from the company."
"Additional costs will be for the machines and the number of machines that you are using. You can deploy virtually as well as on physical machines. In both the situations, you do need to allocate a certain budget for securing the machines and where the software will be installed and running. The machines cannot be used for anything else, because only a certain bot can run at a certain time. You need to be very particular about your scheduling of running the bots, and while the bot is running nobody can use the machine. You cannot have an agent working on a machine and the bot running in the background. It has to be completely dedicated. Then there are the network bandwidth requirements and space requirements, which are additional costs apart from the licensing and software costs. The developer is also going to charge you for their coding time too."
"My only suggestion in terms of pricing is very generic and that is to consider that as much as RPA saves cost and does automation, please get a realistic estimation done on whether you are really achieving any ROI over your investment with RPA."
"It saves me around $100,000 a year."
"I would rate the cost of Automation Anywhere as a six out of ten, with ten being the most expensive."
"I find the license pricing to be competitive and reflective of the pricing models throughout the RPA space, and I believe there is a lot of value in continuing to maintain the free community edition platform."
"Despite being less expensive than UiPath, Automation Anywhere remains cost-prohibitive for many small and medium-sized businesses."
"As our team size increases, we may get some more licenses for the tool."
"We do not pay anything. As a supplier, we are receiving our payments through Boost. There is no fee for us to opt into it. The only fee is the credit card fee."
"The pricing is generally good, although we encountered a pricing dilemma with one customer."
"The pricing has been negotiable. It is not just one price. We are able to negotiate the price, which is great."
