Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"One of the features that people enjoy is the whiteboard, providing opportunities for academics to present content and for students to contribute. The platform also allows for the creating of different rooms, enabling large classes to break into smaller groups for discussions. Students can then return to the main classroom to share their opinions. It integrates with LMS.""Document loading and annotation.""The solution allows me to connect and collaborate with my classes."

"We don't have any link issues whether you use it to browser, or use it as a client. It worked perfectly fine for us.""There is no lagging and the meeting interaction is seamless.""Reduced the need for physically commuting between offices.""It was just chosen because somebody at the company said, "We need a meeting thing. Hey, go find a meeting thing." It wasn't me, but somebody else in the organization was like, "Alright, let's use GoToMeeting. It's free."""Even for somebody who does not have a lot of experience, they can easily use it.""Pricing is reasonable. It's not expensive. The pricing is one of the great selling points for the product.""I think all the features are very useful, especially the rooms features and we present with screen sharing. Instead of organizing conferences, we are able to do that online. This has been saving us from spending on travel. From the beginning of this year, because of GoToMeeting, I have canceled I think three or four business trips.""I like GoToMeeting because it is lighter than other solutions, such as Webex."

Cons
"If there were maybe more tutorials outside of what I'm aware the university is suggesting, I would take more tutorials on effective ways to deliver content. I come from the industry and content was always needed when people that were observing were smart and involved and decision-makers instead of so passively just trying to pass the course. In my imagination, the tutorials would be a tool where the learners themselves can have much more hands-on learning during a Collaborate session.""The system can overload when too many try logging in.""We faced outages when the user limit went over a certain number."

"Sometimes we'll run into issues where firewall rules aren't set correctly and won't work.""In addition to the features it already has, I think GoToMeeting should also have additional features that are not present at the moment.""We would like some improvement in the speed of initiating this solution, as it is currently fairly slow.""The product itself doesn't stand out against other options on the market.""The interface is a little outdated and could be better.""Using GoToMeeting in a meeting-sized conference room is kind of a letdown. The camera is supposed to track the speaker and focus on that person so that they can be on the screen. That feature rarely worked. We tested it thoroughly, so maybe it was an issue with the size of the conference room. It may not be suitable for large conference rooms.""GoToMeeting breaks down a lot. We're not sure if it's breaking down, but we start getting very erratic community channels. I don't know if it's because of GoToMeeting or if we're not buying enough bandwidth. Maybe it is just the infrastructure that it's running on. I'm not quite sure.""Poor error recovery, too sensitive to transmission errors. Needs better codecs and more robust system software that can handle network glitches."
