Delivers lightweight protection while facing challenges with technical aspects
I have been working with Bitdefender GravityZone Enterprise Security for quite a long time, but recently, I do not appreciate their changes, especially on the technical side. They moved some portions to remote GUI-based interfaces. The Command Line Interface (CLI) is not improving. Even experienced personnel are finding it difficult. There is a power user function where you can stop it temporarily for installing applications. Previously, we had the option to click on the power user button and enter the password to allow stopping that particular function. Now, we have to do it via CLI, which even technical personnel struggle to understand. Currently, everything is working fine except for the technical aspects we can control. If they can revert to the old system, that would be much better. When we raise this issue with Bitdefender, they cite security reasons for the change. However, while Cisco is moving away from CLI to GUI, Bitdefender is moving backward. Normal users cannot handle these CLI operations effectively.

Doesn't have daily updates, which is important for healthcare IT
I face challenges with the exclusion policy - it still scans folders we told it not to, causing issues. When we contact support, they tell us to update the latest agent, but we can't do that immediately due to medical device protocols and validation testing. I wish support would try to understand our issues better instead of giving this standard response. The machine learning feature they use often tells us to upgrade the agent or add things to the exclusion list, which isn't unacceptable. It's a very good and new technology as a tool and antivirus. But sometimes, it doesn't work properly with our medical devices and products, quarantining files it shouldn't even after we add them to exclusions. This is tricky for us.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The solution is very scalable."
"The cloud console is good and the tool is effective in protection."
"Since implementing Bitdefender, the traffic to the firewall has significantly reduced, and network congestion has been resolved."
"We find the protection the solution provides valuable."
"Virus scan and the ability to remotely install are valuable features. Being able to manage everything in one place and set different policies and rules for different computer types are very useful features. It also has ransomware protection. It is very simple to use, and it is very effective."
"The risk analytics capability is excellent because the central console is very good."
"The fact that it is almost plug and play means the policies I have to define are not very complicated."
"The product offers an opportunity to monitor the things happening in our network. It also has a comprehensive dashboard."
"The Application Guard and ByteGuard are useful features."
"What I like best about CylancePROTECT is its accuracy, as it doesn't give many false positives."
"The deployment of updates is easy."
"Very easy to deploy. It can be done one by one or deployed by customizing an MSI file for GPO push."
"You can manage all the threats and everything from a centralized dashboard."
"A user can continue to add endpoints and the solution will continue to perform well."
"The solution runs in the background, and I do not need to care about it."
"CylancePROTECT works on AI technology, is always up to date, and uses very few resources on your devices."

Cons

"At this point in time, the download footprint is a bit big. What I mean is the initial file I download to deploy on end-user devices is about six hundred to seven hundred megabytes, and it should be scaled down to an agent size of maybe less than one hundred megabytes, max."
"The price of the bandwidth here is very expensive compared to European countries."
"I like the Application Control feature, but it's a bit tricky. Managing it can be a bit cumbersome sometimes."
"We've experienced multiple failures during appliance upgrades, sometimes requiring us to resort to backup."
"There is room for improvement in CPU utilization."
"The Command Line Interface (CLI) is not improving. Even experienced personnel are finding it difficult."
"The phishing feature report showed zero results, and the patch management component is one of the two main issues that need improvement."
"There are compatibility concerns as Bitdefender does not support Windows 7."
"Making the dashboards a bit modern to make them easier to search would also be helpful."
"CylancePROTECT's dashboard could be more user-friendly."
"Having worked with SentinelOne, Cylance is good, however, it probably needs to add a feature similar to SentinelOne's rollback functionality. With this feature, if you get infected, with a click, you can go back to the pre-infection state. If Cylance could add this functionality to their offering as well, that would be ideal."
"We would like to see secure integration and multi-factor authentication to be able to access the administration dashboard."
"It needs real analysis of quarantined files. The EDR product isn't showing much right now."
"The product needs to continue to offer better alerts. In particular, around false positives. It needs to reduce them from happening."
"If they can add more features on top of their Persona feature that would be ideal."
"Additionally, their channel management has been lacking, with a notable disregard for small and medium-sized businesses, focusing primarily on large enterprises and very large MSPs."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It has very flexible licensing costs, and it's modular-based."
"The tool's pricing structure is good. We use an annual subscription."
"There are many licensing options available, we have been on monthly agreements and other volume contract agreements."
"The license is yearly."
"The pricing is reasonable when I compare it to other security solutions, particularly Kaspersky, it stands out. It offers an excellent solution at a more favorable price point."
"The tool is not expensive and pricing is competitive."
"In terms of the licensing costs associated with Bitdefender GravityZone Enterprise Security, the agreement was made nearly three years ago, but from what I recall, the figure was around €6,000 to €7,000 for three years, including support for two hundred endpoints."
"The licensing costs can vary."
"Shop around for sure and be assured the price you pay will be close to other solutions available, but even at a slight mark-up from the other solutions, you are getting real endpoint protection versus nothing more than a cheap security blanket that might keep you warm at night."
"Our licensing cost for the solution is around $4,000 for six months. There are no costs in addition to the standard licensing fees."
"It's not so heavily priced; rather, it's average and decent."
"The licensing part of the product is too expensive compared to other solutions in the market."
"My company is on a yearly CylancePROTECT subscription. Price-wise, the solution is slightly expensive, so I'd rate it as eight out of ten."
"The license price for this solution could be better. It's on the expensive side."
"We would just add more if there are new users, but right now you just need one license for per user."
"CylancePROTECT's pricing is reasonable, at about €18 per user, per year."
