AMBARISH PATKAR - PeerSpot reviewer
Centralized control effectively manages devices while updates require powered-on systems
I use Bitdefender GravityZone EDR for the grooming industry. It is primarily utilized for the office environment The features I find most effective for threat detection include centralized control policy distribution and the control of independent devices, such as printers, laptops, and desktops…
Sagar Shekhar - PeerSpot reviewer
An open-source tool that offers great automation capabilities
Red Canary MDR generates a lot of output, so it would be good if, in the end, it generates a summary of all the previous attacks and what was the outcome of a single attack, especially so that it becomes easy for the user to see the summary and analyze the whole thing. In general, the solution currently fails to provide a summary to its users.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The cloud management is easy and useful, especially in our case when we have multiple offices in different locations."
"If you detect a virus, you can isolate the PC from the network and prevent access to the internet, network and routers. Once fixed, you can give access back to the client. We have not had this functionality using other solutions."
"The advanced direct control on offer is excellent."
"The tool alerts about lateral internet movements."
"One of the most valuable features is the signature updating in near real-time."
"I like GravityZone's short implementation time. It takes only a day, at most."
"The most valuable feature for me is the ability to whitelist, blacklist, and be very granular as to what I blocked, what apps I blocked, and what websites I block. I think that's probably the most valuable feature."
"The product is worth the investment."
"The most valuable feature of the solution is its automation part."
"The solution works well for what we use it for and the support and protection are good."
"The near real-time review translates into near real-time action. So, in addition to alerting, Red Canary MDR has response playbooks built out."
"I recommended Red Canary to my friends who work in other organizations."
"The valuable features of this solution are it integrates well with different EDR software, such CrowdStrike, and Carbon Black, and the information it provides is helpful."

Cons

"When patching devices for updates, if a device is not switched on, it does not provide information dynamically."
"They were working on the encryption management for laptops, and if they complete it then it would be helpful."
"The software itself is solid. It would be better if it was more of a real-time solution, like SentinelOne. The one thing that holds me back on the SentinelOne side is that I can blacklist websites and stuff like that, but it's not as granular as Bitdefender. With Bitdefender, I feel like I have more control over what I can whitelist and blacklist."
"The solution is sometimes resource-intensive."
"Bitdefender GravityZone EDR doesn't have an official office in Saudi Arabia, which is important if the vendor wants to gain or be closer to their customers."
"They should improve the solution's patch management feature."
"The one thing I'd say about their complete MDR product is that it's too expensive, which is why I prefer to use an alternative SOC and integrate Bitdefender to a different SOC on their own."
"Technical support could be faster and more responsive."
"In general, the solution currently fails to provide a summary to its users."
"Red Canary's pricing spectrum may not be ideal for smaller financial institutions."
"I would like there to be an on-premise version of this solution for our data centers because of the proliferation of online threats."
"The price could always be better."
"The most valuable feature of Red Canary MDR is the overall threat protection it provides."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Each endpoint device we purchased came with its own license."
"Bitdefender GravityZone Ultra's pricing is competitive in the market."
"Price-wise, we have a better licensing agreement with Bitdefender than we did with competing vendors."
"It has a suitable price for every company and organization."
"The product has a reasonable price."
"We take the subscription. Only we're taking that GravityZone and protection of the environment and the system. We didn't subscribe to the detection response."
"I rate the product's price a four on a scale of one to ten, where one is low, and ten is high."
"Price-wise, Bitdefender GravityZone EDR is a bit expensive in the Philippines."
"The solution could vary in price depending on how many endpoints a company has."
"Red Canary MDR I use is an open-source tool."
"I have not compared Red Canary to other solutions to know if the price is high or low. However, I have found the price of this solution fair and reasonable, it cost approximately $100 per year, per device. If they could provide the solution for $50 per year, per device, it would be better."
