Automated processes have led to significant cost savings and efficiency improvements
There are too many technical details for a single developer to know, making it overwhelming. It would benefit from a roadmap wizard or templates to guide developers. AWS App Runner should have a wizard and templates to simplify creating a REST service. Developers need clearer guidance to avoid spending excessive time understanding the system.

Rapid application development empowers big projects in months
The ability to quickly develop applications without needing to code a lot is very valuable. It is very quick to create a page, and one can use AI to speed up software development. It is easy to learn. In my company, we could develop a very big application in a couple of months.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"I like that the solution is easy to start with."
"Our company realized tremendous cost savings by eliminating the need for a separate DevOps team."
"Oracle APEX improved our organization by making it possible for us to implement agile project development."
"You don't have to know a lot of PL because it's built on PL/SQL. You don't need developers. You only need to design a good application that resolves a problem, or many problems, for companies and you're ready to go."
"We set up the HTTP server and installed the Apex Xamarin DB using the Mark Hill SQL packages for an older version. That's the extent of our configuration."
"The product is fast."
"One of the most valuable features is the ability to build very fast data-driven UIs."
"Quick development and the connection with the database are the most valuable and useful features. It is also very stable, scalable, and easy to set up. Its support is also good."
"Oracle Application Express is easy to use, people don't have to be developers to use it."
"The product is easy to use."

Cons

"When you try to deploy some code that you've written and tested on other platforms, you should also tell the system what your configuration would be."
"There are too many technical details for a single developer to know, making it overwhelming."
"You also need an APEX specialist for deployment because not many people use it."
"An area for improvement in Oracle Application Express (APEX) is the slow reporting because pulling the report for two months, one year, three years, etc., is very slow. It takes more than thirty minutes to download the report. There's also room for improvement in integrating Oracle Application Express (APEX) with other vendors, such as open-source solutions through API integration. I believe Oracle is working on this feature, or the issue could be because my organization is using an older version of Oracle Application Express (APEX). The Oracle database also has to be improved because it's still lacking in some packages, triggers, and indexes."
"Better connection and integration with non-Oracle databases is needed."
"Being able to only design with HTML and CSS can be limiting as to what can be accomplished."
"One area for improvement in Oracle APEX is its workflow orchestration capabilities."
"The migration process is difficult in Oracle Application Express."
"Connections to the application pages are not handled well and at times more than one user can be accessing an application with the same ID."
"The grid reports contain a lot of bugs."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"You pay as much as your infrastructure and provision are running."
"The solution is cheap. It's a free solution. I rate the solution's pricing a six or seven out of ten."
"The tool is not expensive."
"When buying the data license, APEX is included."
"Oracle Express comes with the Oracle license, it is a bundle."
"Oracle Application Express (APEX) comes with Oracle. The Oracle price itself. I do not know the exact cost. Oracle is flexible on its price. If you overspend on your hardware, then I don't think you will overpay. I heard that Oracle is more expensive than other databases, but when you consider Oracle is the best traditional relational database out there. You get what you pay for."
"It is expensive, but I don't know what the licensing cost is."
"I believe APEX comes bundled with the database, including autonomous database and other related database products, so the pricing is quite reasonable."
"I do not think this would be an ideal option for a small sized company or a startup when considering the salary requirements for Oracle DBA'a and developers."
