Reporting issues are slow and painful and it needs a controller

1. Avaya wireless was sold to Extreme three years ago with all LAN gears. 2. The advanced APs are working correctly. The low-end APs aren’t working correctly. After three months of troubleshooting and four patches, we ended up replacing the APs at our own expense. 3. Lesson learned: select a brand with a controller. Avaya claims that their AP with an embedded controller makes the central controller obsolete. With our controller, deployment is more difficult as roaming between AP relies on device thresholds. Android, iOS, Dell PC, Spectralink barcode readers all have different Decibel thresholds ranging from 72 DB to 104db. A controller watches mobile devices as they move and instruct the nonoptimal AP not to talk to the device.

Reliable wireless coverage has supported busy operations and has improved daily connectivity

We have areas that are interference-prone. I am not using BeamFlex technology with Ruckus Wireless. We are satisfied, but there are some problems in the current Ruckus Wireless solution that we could not solve two years ago, and we are still waiting for a solution. These are lateral management problems, and we solved them with another type of tools. However, I do not know if the new versions of the product have resolved that issue. We had approximately 150 access points at that time, so we had many points to change. We had another solution five years ago, and we changed all the access points to Ruckus Wireless solution as well as the Ruckus Wireless platform to manage all the access points.
