Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"There are ready plugins and connectors to integrate with APIs for common systems like Oracle or Microsoft.""I like working with most of the commands in Automation Anywhere, such as object cloning commands. I like MetaBot for automating Citrix.""We are automatizing redundant activities, releasing employees to do value-added activities.""Our development time has been reduced because the solution is very user-friendly.""We found that RPA with additional AI capabilities, such as machine learning and Computer Vision, can enable the organization to augment existing business operations by creating efficiencies and improving the accuracy of data to be processed, without changing too much of the existing system.""Automation Anywhere is fully configurable.""This solution has decreased the time that our employees spend on manual processes.""I like Automation Anywhere's document automation. It can distill or scan documents and convert the information into a structured format."

"It has simplified compliance with regulations and company standards.""Another good feature is that the numbering of the shapes in iGrafx is much easier and more convenient, in comparison to what is found in Visio. So far I haven't found anything similar to what I have with iGrafx, in that regard.""Web diagramming and RACI have helped expedite the process, capture, and ownership initiatives of our organization.""The solution's technical support is of good quality since they offer fast and seamless services.""Simulation is most valuable.""Provides a valuable BPMN feature.""iGrafx gives you the capability of documenting your process and then the ability to use it as a tool for analysis to identify the loopholes and shortcomings of your process.""This product fulfills ninety percent of our needs, and we're happy as users of it."

Cons
"We need more commands for PDF integration to make it more flexible.""There is a dependency issue around the control room. If the control room is not working, the bots will not work.""Automation Anywhere can also be improved in machine learning and artificial intelligence. It would make our lives easier.""The technical support needs improvement.""The version that we are using has been difficult for us to code. As changes are very frequent, we have to make sure the code can be updated automatically so we don't have to make a change every time a user makes a change. Then, the user doesn't have to update us and we don't have to push a change to production. We have found a workaround with the help of the Automation Anywhere support people for this.""An option should be provided to disable the flow and dual-mode since those are not used often by the developers, and hence take up extra space on the screen.""The main things I've found that could be better are small things that can be annoying when you're using them a lot. I would recommend they add a feature where, if you mark the start of an "If" sentence it will highlight the end of the "If" sentence. That would make it easier to get a better overview.""I don't use the technical support a lot. It feels like a lot of time that they will ask us to check the user manual."

More Automation Anywhere (AA) Cons →

"The price could be more competitive.""The look and feel, along with the ease of use of the solution's web modeling version, is an area with certain shortcomings.""The solution could benefit from improvements to its interface. More specifically, when compared to other tools, the process modeling features lack symbols or object types that are used to represent the information or data within the process.""It can be more user-friendly.""Dragging and dropping shapes is not as user-friendly as in Visio. In Visio, it's very easy to work with shapes and in very few minutes you can plot a whole, multi swim-lane, cross-functional process.""With iGrafx, the implementation and the licensing were pretty complex.""It would be nice to have a Spanish user interface available to us.""I would love to see a template and shapes for customer journey mapping."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "Pricing is too high for small-scale groups. The Control Room yearly fee is high, making it difficult to break even."
  • "Automation Anywhere is competitive... Pega is somewhat comparable, but Pega also requires a lot more infrastructure and a lot more experience to get up and running."
  • "Automation Anywhere is costlier than the general competition. That is aligned with the share of the market it has."
  • "They're very flexible around pricing and licensing."
  • "They give us a good deal on the licensing because we bundle and customize things. If you ask to get a bulk business deal, you will receive more benefit. If you take other products from the suite, like IQ Bot, you can also receive a deal on the licensing."
  • "We just did a round of price comparison on a global scale and found it's so hard to compare the license prices. But, Automation Anywhere, in general, is on the same price level as the other vendors, a bit lower in some cases."
  • "If you look at the capital expenditure, Automation Anywhere is number two to UiPath. But if you take a long-term view, on a scalable model of a large number of bots coming out, it slowly goes on to become the costliest tool. There is something they can do about that. The capital expenditure goes out right at the point of buying the tool. For Automation Anywhere, I would need to spend $20,000. UiPath can give me something for $6,000, while Blue Prism will come in at $300,000."
  • "It's cheaper than other similar solutions."

  • "My company is trying to replace iGrafx because the license is a little bit expensive."
  • "Our license is a subscription-based model that is per user. The solution is not expensive, I believe a subscription-based model is $10 per user."
  • "The licensing part is one of the problems. Its licensing depends on the number of users, so it sometimes gets expensive."
