Gained full visibility and streamlined threat detection through behavior-based insights and AI integration
Initially, we got to have a lot of false positives when we onboarded, but nowadays it's quite smooth. We have fine-tuned our security policies and allowed different levels of policies to get rid of those false positives. Currently, we are getting a fairly good amount of incidents that are not false positives or benign, but actionable items. The process is streamlined. In the initial days, the operations used to get involved in a lot of benign and other activities, but now the process is streamlined. We are leveraging the auto-detection and remediation plans. The operations teams are now more involved in other business roles as well, not just looking into the logs and fetching out what's happening there. They have fixed a lot of things. Initially, they didn't have IAC code drift detection, cloud posture management, or security posture management, but they have those now. They purchased different vendors and did a merger with that. They have now Prisma Cloud that gets integrated and now they are working with Cortex Cloud. Everything that was negative has now been addressed, and the product altogether looks to be in a very better and mature shape now. Currently, it's more or less detecting the workloads with AI-based best practices. Since most organizations are consuming AI agents and other things, we are looking forward to seeing what other feature enhancements Palo Alto can support in that.

Centralized threat intelligence has streamlined dark web monitoring and real‑time IOC detection
The best features Anomali offers are that it acts as an application that pulls data from different solutions. As I mentioned earlier, we utilize Mandiant, Flashpoint, and other CTI solutions. Using Anomali, I push all the results into it, providing a single UI to see what Flashpoint and Google Mandiant are providing rather than jumping into different platforms, which can be time-consuming. Anomali helps us stay on a single platform and provides the required results. The user interface in Anomali is very good. I have worked in Anomali for five years and think they have a great UI for writing queries and finding specific results much more efficiently than in other solutions where you need to scroll down through different widgets. Anomali has a query-based language, similar to SQL, that helps us dig out specific results, whether vulnerability-related or concerning threat actors and TTPs. We can also perform string-based searches. I think it's an awesome feature. Furthermore, regarding integration, Anomali has capabilities to integrate with different downstream applications such as Palo Alto, allowing us to create playbooks to block domains, URLs, or IPs directly within the firewall. Anomali has positively impacted my organization by reducing the time required to find intel specific to our needs. We can create our own queries specific to our organization and pull out results related to any posts within the dark web or any activities from threat actors targeting us. This capability enables us to create saved searches that provide exact results. I estimate that Anomali has saved me about 30% of my time.

Automation has reduced alerts and freed the soc team to focus on faster incident response
Regarding mean time to respond, the improvements I see with SentinelOne Singularity Complete are that genuine files also get alerts. We are getting false positives, but we are also getting genuine true positive alerts. The improvement will be deep visibility because as I am using Splunk as a SIEM, I compare deep visibility with Splunk, but deep visibility has limited access with only a 14-day policy to retain logs. The improvement will be in overall policy management. The third point will be the complexity of policies. If we want some endpoints to use only USB or if we need to block USB on some points, the policy management is very complex. The fourth point will be that Mac OS and Linux don't have the rollback policy; that policy is only for Windows. These four points are improvements if SentinelOne Singularity Complete can address them. Data privacy and security when utilizing Purple AI is crucial for SentinelOne Singularity Complete, and SentinelOne Singularity Complete lacks in data security. Data security is very important in this world. In my organization, if we deploy SentinelOne Singularity Complete and we have integrated all the firewalls, all devices, and AWS devices to SentinelOne Singularity Complete, logs will be forwarded to SentinelOne Singularity Complete through SentinelOne Singularity Complete. However, SentinelOne Singularity Complete doesn't have data security solutions such as Forcepoint DLP or 48 layer; SentinelOne Singularity Complete doesn't have that DLP solution. From the data security point of view, SentinelOne Singularity Complete is not good.

"Tracking down which devices don't currently have SentinelOne on them is the most valuable feature of the product."
"SentinelOne uses behavioral analysis and artificial intelligence to detect unknown malware."
"The solution works well in general."
"SentinelOne Singularity Endpoint helps reduce the number of alerts, generates precise alerts with very few false positives if any, and has actually reduced the load on our SOC analysts so much that I support approximately 18,000 to 20,000 endpoints with only two EDR engineers."
"The reporting part is awesome."
"I find the product very easy to maintain and troubleshoot. Their engineers are very helpful if you need additional assistance. It's one of the best products I've used. It's easy to use from my standpoint, both for troubleshooting and with the support we get from their team if necessary."

Cons

"The solution should offer more dashboards and they should be better customized."
"I would like to see better protection, specifically to protect email applications."
"We have found that there are times Cortex XDR by Palo Alto Networks does not detect some of the viruses, we have to use another protection solution called Kaspersky."
"We would also like to have advanced tech protection and email scanning."
"While using Cortex, I noticed some aspects that could be improved, such as increasing the synchronization speed between XDR and Xnor."
"The server sometimes stops continuously to check things so it would be helpful to receive access updates or technical reasons."
"Cortex XDR by Palo Alto Networks could improve by adding a sandbox feature to better compete with their competitors which have it."
"The solution should offer more dashboards and they should be better customized."
"Less code in integration would be nice when building blocks."
"Anomali Enterprise could improve by combining all the other tools' features into one solution."
"My experience with Anomali's customer support has not gone so well for us."
"Support in the past has been top-notch, but recent trends indicate that it has taken a back seat, as we often don't get answers for days."
"One more improvement I would mention is regarding compromised credential monitoring. Anomali should increase their capability to fetch details from various dark web solutions where threat actors post compromised credentials."
"An area for improvement is the intelligence sharing within the Anomali community. The tagging system can be inconsistent, as any company can use any tags for their reporting."
"A lot of tools can give you many features, such as CTI intelligence and a tax service reduction. However, many people are combining different tools together to have more capabilities. It is up to the consumer whether they want to have multiple tools or have one tool that serves the purpose. Anomali Enterprise could improve by combining all the other tools' features into one solution."
"I would appreciate seeing the browser extension react more effectively to events, going beyond mere detection."
"One area of SentinelOne that definitely has room for improvement is the reporting. The canned reports are clunky and we haven't been able to pull a lot of good information directly from them."
"I would like to see the reports from SentinelOne more customizable, as there are very few options."
"The false alerts can be annoying, especially during administrative tasks."
"The dashboards can be improved, and their dashboarding functionality needs to be better. The way the dashboards look is not really impactful or meaningful."
"For SentinelOne Singularity Endpoint, the first issue I dislike is the high CPU utilization, and the second is a very high number of false positive alerts from the EDR."
"One area for improvement is automated deployment. I use it through a group policy. I put in the PC name, and when the user logs in, if the PC is in that group, it attempts an MSI install through Active Directory via GPO. That seems to play a little havoc and can conflict with manual installs, causing issues where it wants to delete and reinstall the client."
"This solution would be more attractive to customers if the price were lower."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Traps pays for itself within the first 16 months of a three-year subscription. This is attributed to OPEX savings, as security teams spent less time trying to identify and isolate malware for analysis as a result of a reduction in malware incidents, false positives, and breach avoidance."
"Cortex XDR's pricing is ok."
"I am using the Community edition."
"The pricing is okay, although direct support can be expensive."
"Cortex XDR by Palo Alto Networks is quite an expensive solution."
"It's way too expensive, but security is expensive. You pay for your licensing, and then you pay for someone to monitor the stuff."
"Compared to CrowdStrike, Cortex XDR is an expensive solution."
"The price is on the higher side, but it's okay."
"When comparing the price of Anomali Enterprise to other solutions it is in the medium to high range. However, I am satisfied with the price."
"I believe that the current pricing and licensing structure is fair."
"We pay $30,000 a year for 275 endpoints. We're growing, so I plan to buy another 75 endpoints. There is still a year and a half left in my three-year subscription, so I'm going to increase my endpoint count by 30 percent."
"I do not know much about the pricing. What I do know is that the person who negotiates most of the pricing is quite a hard bargainer. In that regard, he often says that he managed to get a very good deal. When we first looked at replacing our old system with Singularity Complete, its price was definitely a big factor. Back then, Singularity Complete was fairly new to the marketplace. We got quite a good deal as an early adopter. They have honored that and respected that we were an early adopter, and I feel we are still getting a very good price."
"SentinelOne Singularity Complete is cheaper than CrowdStrike but more expensive than any traditional anti-virus solution."
"The pricing level for this service and application was very interesting for us. I don't know exactly what the price was, but apparently it was a big surprise that the SOC was also included in our pricing model."
"I find the licensing cost for SentinelOne Singularity Complete fair."
"I did not notice a significant increase in cost after adding SentinelOne."
"When it came to the price compared to other solutions we tested, SentinelOne Singularity gave us the price of our expectations whereas CrowdStrike could not."
