Proactively address issues with seamless monitoring while enhancing custom metrics functionality
We use CloudWatch for monitoring and logging. It helps us monitor our applications' performance, particularly in ensuring that every API hit returns a response within four seconds, which is our SLA. We also monitor invocation errors in Lambda and use CloudWatch alerts to notify us of any issues…

SaaS platform used by developers to store and conveniently search for logs
If a company has the budget and the log service is critical for them, I would say use Coralogix. It is a very good service for that. I would rate Coralogix an eight out of ten. It is an excellent service for storing logs for a long time. The capacity is unlimited for unindexed logs. The cost model is also very efficient because you pay for the ingested data per month. This can be compared to a solution like New Relic where you have to pay it upfront and cannot limit the data ingestion. Coralogix provides an easy way to search for logs and to visualize them. This a great feature because developers are constantly looking for or browsing logs.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Most of it's around optimizing utilization, their cloud utilization. They're making sure that they're getting the most out of their in-cloud environments and their instances. Making sure that there's no strange behavior in the environment."
"You can enable alarms and metrics, and it has robust integration with AWS services. You can also trigger events. For example, if the CPU utilization is above 80%, it can launch a new instance for you."
"The most valuable part is the metrics part, which is really good."
"We can set CPU thresholds using the solution."
"The scalability of Amazon CloudWatch rates as high scalability, scoring a perfect ten."
"It offers direct integrations with various storage providers, making it convenient to push logs from CloudWatch to these external platforms."
"The tool's UI is good. One can scroll through the logs very easily."
"Amazon CloudWatch is a cheap and easy-to-use solution."
"The overall stability and reliability of Coralogix are excellent, and I rarely encounter issues."
"The log monitoring is good, and the dashboards that we create are beneficial."

"The solution offers very good convenience filtering."

Cons

"Amazon CloudWatch's pricing needs improvement."
"There could be further enhancements through CloudWatch's partnerships."
"This product lacks some features: real-time data stream monitoring, application performance monitoring, mobile app monitoring, and live dashboards. Its workflows also need improvement."
"The monitoring part and GUI are areas in Amazon CloudWatch that have shortcomings currently and can be considered for improvements in the future."
"CloudWatch doesn’t monitor disk throughput by default."
"Improvement of SSSD logs would be beneficial."
"The dashboard of Amazon CloudWatch is not very customizable right now."
"I do not know whether or not CloudWatch can be integrated with on-prem services."
"We want it to work at what it is expected to work at and not really based on the updated configuration which one developer has decided to change."
"From my experience, Coralogix has horrible Terraform providers."
"It would be helpful if Coralogix could integrate the main modules that any organization requires into a single subscription."
"The user interface could be more intuitive and explanatory."
"The documentation of the tool could be improved"
"The features we were missing in the past were related to the way we see our metrics and aggregate our data."
"The user interface is not intuitive, especially when first onboarding, and improvements could be made here."
"Coralogix should have some AI capabilities to auto-detect anomalies and provide suggestions. The increasing volume of data and the resulting bandwidth charges are concerns."
