Amazon API Gateway offers strong customer support, especially for enterprise plans, with variable response times based on support tier.
Sentiment score
6.4
Postman's documentation and community resources minimize support needs, but users desire better responsiveness and documentation completeness.
Within 15 minutes, we had a support engineer allocated via Amazon, and we were able to resolve the issue promptly.
Technical support is excellent, deserving a ten out of ten rating.
If you have a tier-one partnership, the support has been phenomenal.
I appreciate the ease of using Postman, especially its desktop version, due to the features it offers such as cookie management and environment synchronization.
There is a lot of support available through forums and user groups, which has been sufficient for me.

Scalability Issues

Amazon API Gateway excels in scalability, efficiently managing traffic for diverse users, perfect for small teams and large enterprises.
Sentiment score
7.1
Postman is popular for API testing across company sizes, scalable but faces performance issues under heavy loads; free version is limited.
It is very scalable, and we don't need to hire additional engineers.
We've significantly increased our traffic from hitting it once or twice a minute to now hitting it ten to fifteen times within a minute.
I haven't observed any significant issues indicating a lack of scalability, as it can be efficiently managed through configurations.
Postman does not have database validation available, which affects its scalability.
This solution is scalable.

Amazon API Gateway is highly stable and reliable, with minimal disruptions and a 99.99% uptime, supporting millions globally.
Sentiment score
8.0
Postman is praised for stability and reliability, with the web app more stable than the desktop version despite minor issues.
I've deployed it for a client with millions of users without issues.
Our applications are stable, owing partly to our architecture, which is spread across three regions.
I would rate the stability a nine out of ten.
I rate it ten out of ten for stability.

Room For Improvement

Amazon API Gateway requires enhancements in pricing, integration, security, technical support, feature richness, and reduced latency for improved user experience.
Users desire better UI, platform integration, pricing, documentation, testing features, and flexible authentication with improved compatibility and connectivity.
A local version of the API Gateway would be beneficial for testing purposes without incurring extra costs.
AWS charges for data ingress and egress, which could be further reduced.
It's important to consider the type of gateway endpoint carefully.
One of the primary challenges with Postman is handling authentication issues, especially relating to tokens and passwords.
If they can enhance it to have a database kind of validation like we have in ReadyAPI, it would be better.
Maybe Postman can be a good contender and replicate some features such as more scripting and control over API calls.

Setup Cost

Enterprise users find Amazon API Gateway's serverless, pay-as-you-go pricing competitive and flexible, despite potential high-volume cost concerns.
Postman's free version and competitive pricing make it attractive for both small and large enterprises, offering scalable options.
However, my understanding is that it easily goes to $14,000 or $15,000 USD each month for each account, and we have several such accounts.
It is a really cheap product, but if used incorrectly, it can become expensive.
It is expensive.
Postman's pricing model includes a basic free version, which is favorable given the Professional enterprise options offered.
Postman is open-source, so the cost is minimal compared to commercial platforms.
Postman is much cheaper than the other tools.

Valuable Features

Amazon API Gateway provides scalable integration with AWS, robust security, and cost-effective management for API applications.
Postman excels with user-friendly features, automation, collaboration, and affordability, appealing to both developers and non-developers alike.
Additionally, it's cost-effective, even as our workload and the number of APIs we manage have increased.
It acts as a master tool, offering easy configuration and excellent integration capabilities with third-party services.
The solution is solid, robust, and scalable.
The desktop version's features like cookie management, environment compatibility, security settings, proxy integration, and data synchronization add significant value.
It's easy to navigate because tons of documentation and examples are available.
Postman's collaboration tools, such as version control and team workspaces, are particularly useful when working with teams of three to four people.

Cost-effective serverless routing with room for extended timeout settings
We are using API Gateway to route the traffic to our Lambdas. Every API pass is linked to some of the Lambdas. When traffic hits CloudFront, it redirects it to API Gateway, which then redirects it to the respective Lambda server. We have different kinds of services invoked through these Lambdas…

Solution simplifies web service testing with impressive speed and accessibility
It is very easy for me to use and I highly prefer it compared to SoapUI and other products for performing its job. It is more handy and faster. It has impacted us very nicely. Postman is used for free by us. I'm not sure if there might be a paid version for multiple users. It is a very good product used for development. It is easy to install, as well as to learn, particularly for new users, even if they are not developers. I taught my business analyst to use it. I just showed them once, and it was easy for them to understand. For example, I gave them the URL and request format and asked them to test independently. They were able to use it on their own and do their testing as well. It was a good experience, especially for generally smart people, like those we usually hire in our company. It is pretty easy to explain, and learning it is not complex.
