Automated complex ETL workflows have reduced coding effort and improved data integration
One area for improvement is in integrating mostly the data which comes from telemetry, where I can see some sort of improvisations can be made. It is a massive amount of unstructured data, and I believe Alteryx is able to handle it, but there can be some improvements. Suggestions for improvements in Alteryx include areas for increasing efficiency, particularly in processing telemetry data, which involves dealing with large volumes of unstructured data. Additionally, I believe when we use filter tools immediately after the input source, there can be slowdowns when handling massive data. The user experience of Alteryx is generally good, but there are areas for improvement from a user's perspective, particularly regarding user interface enhancements. I think there's always room for improvement, but otherwise, Alteryx has been a great tool for me. We haven't experienced significant disruptions while increasing data volumes, though I sense there could be performance issues as data grows exponentially. This is an area that could use improvement in Alteryx.

A stable product that is easy to deploy and can be used for structured and unstructured data mining
We use the solution for predictive analytics to do structured and unstructured data mining I like the way the product visually shows the data pipeline. The product must provide better integration with cloud-native technologies. I have been using the solution for 20 years. The product is very…

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The most valuable feature is user-friendliness, as Alteryx can be used by those without any coding experience or experienced data scientists as it has the functionality to embed R and Python scripts."
"Alteryx is the kind of software that a corporation would want to go with and to deploy for people who are not really data scientists and that have to use data, design dashboards, clean and prepare data and so on."
"The scheduling within the solution is excellent."
"We are taking the data from disparate systems and transforming and making the data available for further visualization."
"Our analyst’s time was cut from two days to one hour of data blending and the output was amazing!"
"I think the most valuable feature is the ease of use for my business scientists."
"Alteryx is easier to set up and implement and allowed us to also focus on different aspects of the business."
"Something that would take an hour or two hours to do it manually can take five to 10 minutes for Alteryx."
"The most valuable feature is that you can use multiple algorithms for creating models and then you can compare the results between them."
"Overall it is a good solution."
"The data processing of the solution is very good, easy to use, both for enterprise and personal use."
"I found the ease of use of the solution the most valuable."
"SAS internal support is very qualified and if we have any issues, we contact them and trust that they can help."
"Technical support has been good, and when I called them at the start of using the product with some issues they were very helpful."
"The setup is straightforward. Deployment doesn't take more than 30 minutes."
"The most valuable feature is the decision tree creation."

Cons

"The price could be better; though we are satisfied with the solution, we feel the price to be a bit on the expensive side and we would like to improve on and escalate Alteryx, but find it too expensive at the moment to do so."
"I'd like to see more artificial intelligence business tools or features in Alteryx."
"Alteryx can improve in data science. They have to have more features and components in the data science aspect because they claim to be a data science tool. However, in order to be more competitive, they have to improve on their data science propositions. Thre are other solutions on the market, such as other players in the market, Data2Go or DataIQ, and Alteryx needs to catch up."
"Alteryx needs to focus on the supply chain aspect since detecting financial figures and data anomalies is currently insufficient."
"In terms of data extraction, during the sequel queries of servers as an example, you can structure your sequel query and it's fine, very readable, but once you run it, it crashes into one complex single line, and makes it very difficult."
"I think sometimes the solution doesn't load properly or takes so much time for the workflows. Though the workflow runs and completes the file in Excel, if you use the same formula, it's a bit slow. Also, the image processing is not so good because I tried to do some image processing and they were like, sometimes they put two to eight. In the document, it was two, but the OCR predicted it as eight."
"It would be great to create the final users' visualization within Alteryx."
"There are a few imputation techniques which they really need to include."
"The preparation of both the mining and modeling process could be improved. The solution requires data and will reflect data, but the preparation of the data is not useful for end-users; we ended up having to do the preparation in another tool."
"The visualization of the models is not very attractive, so the graphics should be improved."
"The stability isn't perfect. We have issues with accuracy in some AI forecasting areas, and the accuracy is not as good as the clients need it to be."
"The initial setup is challenging if doing it for the first time."
"We really don't like the protocols the solution offers. The solution is much more complex than other options."
"Plus it is prohibitively expensive and is not available with perpetual licensing."
"The product must provide better integration with cloud-native technologies."
"The solution is quite expensive. The pricing is too high."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It is $4,000 a year, so it is cheap versus other solutions. It also accomplishes three times the volume on the job in the same time (as the other solutions)."
"Opt for the three year subscription. It is 20% less than the yearly one."
"The seat is too expensive."
"The price for Alteryx Designer is reasonable but the price for Alteryx Server for universal collaborations is too expensive."
"It can be a bit pricey, especially after the first year."
"The solution has a more costly license than other tools in the market."
"The desktop platform costs $5,000 per year. It's very costly."
"The license is really expensive, we cannot afford to have two or three. It takes away all the budget of my area."
"This solution is for large corporations because not everybody can afford it."
"The solution must improve its licensing models."
"The solution is expensive for an individual, but for an enterprise/institution (purchasing bulk licenses), it is not a high price for the use that will come from it."
