Trellix MOVE AntiVirus Reviews

I can briefly describe our use cases for Trellix MOVE AntiVirus. We use it on all our computers at the office here. We use it for all our computers and we also use it while browsing the internet. It provides protection not just for the computer, but also on the web.

A positive aspect of Trellix MOVE AntiVirus is that our biggest feature prevents users from installing USB drives. We don't have the issue of distributing viruses or transfer of files. They always track harmful files before they can enter the computer system.

It protects against unnecessary use of external storage devices. It also gives protection to all the systems, on-premise or out of the premises, online, including the server. The server sends periodic updates to all the systems connected to it.

We have administrative overhead as we have centralized management for Trellix MOVE AntiVirus. We can monitor all our computers that are currently using Trellix MOVE AntiVirus. We can monitor all their vital points. If they are online, offline, if they are being attacked by any viruses, anything that we need to take action upon, it will be on our centralized overview application.

When it comes to disadvantages, the user interface of Trellix MOVE AntiVirus is a bit cumbersome and not really user-friendly.

Even though there is a complex interface, it could be better because there are certain things we try to do that a technician should be able to do on their own, but we have to call their representative. Other than that, everything has been great.

We've been using Trellix MOVE AntiVirus for about 10 years. It used to be McAfee, but now it's Trellix MOVE AntiVirus.

The product has been stable throughout. I don't know other people's experiences with it, but so far on my end, it has been stable.

Technical support from Trellix MOVE AntiVirus has been great throughout. We have clear and concise communication between our representative here and Trellix.

If I had to rate the support from Trellix MOVE AntiVirus from 1 to 10, I would give it a solid eight.

It is easy to install and straightforward. We have no issues configuring it.

I definitely see some return on investment from Trellix MOVE AntiVirus.

Trellix MOVE AntiVirus is relatively affordable for the budget that we have currently.

The integration in general has been smooth so far. We didn't really have any integration issues.

Regarding compatibility with VMware and Microsoft Hyper-V, it works with Microsoft, but I have not really been conversant with Hyper-V.

On a scale of 1-10, I rate Trellix MOVE AntiVirus a 10.

This solution is intended for endpoint users and endpoint solutions. I like that it addresses our needs comprehensively.

We are using Slack Intelligence, which is also from Trellix, and Threat Intelligence, which are valuable features of this solution.

This solution will consume more resources for the end users, which is an area for improvement.

I have been using this solution since 2004.

On a scale of one to ten, the stability is an eight or nine.

This solution is scalable for our needs. We started with 50 users, and now we are using it for 2,000 users. It has been very easy to scale up.

The customer service is very helpful. I would rate it as nice out of ten.

The initial setup was very easy. We had support from Trellix, which made the process smooth.

Only one person was involved in the implementation. I did not take part in the installation, but I was involved in purchasing Trellix and contacting our consultant. I am not directly using it. The deployment took about a day, but some fine-tuning took two to three days.

We considered other vendors, such as Trend Micro. We also completed a lot of proof of concept evaluations with Symantec and Trend Micro.

We are using TriNet, and now Trellix. Trellix MOVE Antivirus is just an abbreviation for a compatible product. I rate the overall product as an eight out of ten.

Since we're fully virtualized, it integrates seamlessly. We use the agent for deployment within the environment. Management is centralized, so updates, deployments, and reporting are done through the main console. 

We have a lot of flexibility in scheduling and configuring how your antivirus operates, which determines how you receive reports and alerts. You can access those through Avaya meetings or directly in the console.

Compared to Symantec and others I've used, it puts less stress on the network. There are no noticeable bottlenecks related to updates or traffic. That's been a major benefit. It runs smoothly and doesn't consume excessive network resources.

It functions like a standard antivirus – I scan, I get reports... it gets the job done as I configure it. Overall, I'm satisfied with McAfee MOVE Antivirus.

I haven't experienced any compatibility issues so far. So, it also offers good integration capabilities with other tools.

The quality of the reports depends on what you're looking for. They can be good, bad, or average. Overall, the reporting functionality is adequate.

McAfee could improve the administrative interface. It's functional but could be more user-friendly. Also, ongoing support and updates are important aspects.

I have been using it for two years. 

For me, it is a stable product. So far, I haven't had any issues.

We have about 60 to 70 machines protected.

The initial setup was straightforward. 

The most time-consuming part was setting up the SQL component. McAfee itself integrates quickly.

For the deployment process, I had SQL running on my network already. I installed McAfee on the SQL server, which populates the database. You manage updates there, then deploy them using the web interface.

The deployment to each machine takes less than five minutes.

Anyone can do it. There’s nothing overly technical about it.

There's a licensing cost involved. The pricing is cheap. 

Overall, I would rate the solution a nine out of ten. It's a good product. 

If McAfee can improve the administrative interface to be more user-friendly, then I would definitely recommend it. Currently, you might need some external support to manage it effectively, which can be a cost consideration.

The main benefit is the protection it provides. My systems haven't been attacked, which is ultimately what matters.

In my company, we use the tool in our business-related network so that it can be used to detect everything connected to the PCs or the USB ports. The tool is useful to provide protection and prevention of attacks on the user appliances in our company's environment.

The most valuable feature of the solution stems from the fact that it works fine for my company.

My company did not face any issues which McAfee could not resolve.

In our company, we have another solution that we use through Cisco for our handheld devices, but we don't find it for McAfee. Vendors like Cisco support the integration with the other devices. McAfee MOVE AntiVirus does not support integration with other devices, making it an area where improvements are required.

I have six years of experience with McAfee MOVE AntiVirus.

It is a stable solution. As my company hasn't had any issues with McAfee MOVE AntiVirus, we have not considered any other products against it. If my company faces any issues with the product, we will move to some other product.

It is a scalable solution. Scalability-wise, I rate the solution a nine out of ten.

Around 50,000 people in my company use the product.

Every time a user logs into their PC, they will find the tool ready and available, meaning it is extensively used.

Since we use the product all the time in our company, we have purchased new licenses.

I have experience with technical support for the product. The support offered by the solution is good.

My company has experience with Kaspersky. My company switched from Kaspersky to McAfee MOVE AntiVirus not because we had some issues with the former product. My company Wanted more solutions for the other devices in our environment, so We moved to McAfee MOVE AntiVirus.

The product's initial setup phase was not that easy, so I would describe it as a moderate process.

The solution is deployed on the cloud and on an on-premises model.

The solution can be deployed in less than a week.

For the deployment phase of the product, my company has around four technical personnel. My company has around three technical personnel for the maintenance part, which is not difficult.

My company did seek the help of a professional engineer for the installation of the product.

I have not seen any impact on my organization from the use of the tool. The tool is worthy enough in our company's environment.

There is a need to pay towards the licensing charges of the product on a yearly basis. The product is not way too expensive. Though the pricing can be improved, if users get good security from the product, then it is not worth thinking about the price as it will handle the headache related to attacks and viruses.

I recommend the product to those who plan to use it.

I rate the product a nine out of ten.

We use McAfee MOVE AntiVirus predominantly for antivirus and anti-malware protection.

The solution’s stability could be improved.

We haven’t faced any issues with the solution’s stability or performance.

I rate the solution’s stability a seven out of ten.

The number of users for the solution would definitely be somewhere in the range of thousands.

I would recommend the solution to other users.

I have experience using this product. However, I haven't used it specifically since I moved to the Azure team. The reason is that when it was on desktops or on-premises servers, we used it to help customers.

For example, let's say their SQL Server was running and suddenly crashed. We would collect a memory dump and see that the McAfee driver was causing an unexpected integration check. So, we'd discuss with the McAfee team to see if the driver is signed and compatible with that specific system offering and if it's tested with the latest hotfixes we release.

We'd also check for any potential bugs in the antivirus filter drivers. That's how our relationship works with these antivirus vendor teams.

With antivirus products, it depends on the features available. Does it protect the hypervisor and the Hyper-V VMs? Do we need to install agents in the VMs, or will the entire solution manage the VMs itself? Depending on that, we configure it and even help the customer accordingly.

Moreover, real-time threat intelligence and adaptive capabilities benefit our organization.

For example, if someone is trying to access our server with stolen credentials. So, as far as the sign-in logging is enabled and analyzed by the threat intelligence, it will identify that. It will recognize the pattern of the requests. 

So, it may try multiple times within a specific timeframe. It can discern the behavior of the user request and create an alert indicating there is a possibility of a credential test and generate an alert.

The system can identify the pattern. It identifies a pattern of a person, the request, where it's coming from, and what location. Is it a blocked IP address if the request is coming from there? Or is it a suspected IP address range the request is coming from? The sign-in request is just one example.  There can be any other kind of request. 

So, there may be many patterns that it will identify, assess, and decide on whether it is a critical, medium, or low critical event. Based on that, the event management by the threat intelligence is automated. The human is not involved there. The engine itself makes those decisions by assessing the data, the pattern, the behavior, the location, and all those parameters.  

Threat detection and prevention are the most significant features. It covers most of the data collected by sending it to McAfee by looking at the behavioral analysis, vulnerabilities, and such, and then it assesses the data with the threat intelligence in their analytical engine. 

Based on that, it makes decisions by either creating an incident, resolving it automatically, or providing an option to respond based on the requirement, etcetera. These are the very basic operational functionalities common across all antivirus or security applications, whether it's Trend Micro, Check Point, or McAfee.

I'd prefer more frequent updates.

For us, McAfee is a third-party vendor service. 

It should definitely be stable. Since McAfee provides an enterprise security solution, I'm pretty sure it is stable. I'm not aware of any significant issues, bugs, or other concerns with McAfee, but I am confident that it is a stable product.

With McAfee endpoint security, when you install it on a server, you can create a scalable solution with multiple instances. That is a very basic configuration requirement, and I'm pretty sure McAfee supports this.

The customer service and support are very helpful.

We switched to Azure Defender. It's constantly being updated. It's just a superior framework.

If I use Azure Sentinel, which is a centralized SIEM solution, and a client is using McAfee as their antivirus solution, I would use a connector for McAfee in Sentinel. This allows me to connect to that McAfee client and collect all the data McAfee has gathered from vulnerability and risk assessments. 

Then, I can perform further analysis of this data using my threat intelligence. McAfee may already have very good decision-making capabilities, but if you have a separate centralized SIEM solution, McAfee can be integrated into that by using the connector to the McAfee client.

Currently, we use Microsoft Defender as our security solution.

Understanding the core functionalities of a security framework is key – regardless of the vendor. You need to know where the vulnerabilities and risks are, what data needs monitoring, and how threat intelligence is used for decision-making. So these core aspects, the framework itself, really don't differ much between McAfee, Symantec, or Azure Defender.

The licensing depends on the number of devices secured by this product. Or it can be user-based or device-based.

Overall, I would rate the solution a seven out of ten. I would definitely recommend McAfee itself. Every enterprise security solution is up to date with the latest threats, so there wouldn't be major challenges between McAfee, Symantec, or any of them in that regard.

However, my overall recommendation depends on their specific requirements. If you're looking for a specific solution like a firewall or a web application firewall (WAF) specifically, then my suggestion might change. It would depend on where you're planning to configure it - Azure, GCP, on-premises, etc. 

For example, if their applications are running on Azure and need a WAF, I would suggest Azure WAF instead of a third-party service like McAfee. But if it's on-premises or another cloud platform, then it depends on the available services. In that case, McAfee might be a good suggestion.

Whether it's McAfee, running on-premises, or Azure Defender for your Azure VMs, it will impact resource utilization. The impact depends on the specific security measurements you're looking for. 

For example, in Azure, Azure Defender is already available and very user-friendly. You just enable it, and it takes care of everything. If McAfee has a similar service available in the marketplace, then I could recommend McAfee as well.

We use McAfee MOVE AntiVirus for protection from viruses.

McAfee MOVE AntiVirus was both stable and scalable.

McAfee MOVE AntiVirus’s initial setup was complex.

I have been using McAfee MOVE AntiVirus for approximately two years.

McAfee MOVE AntiVirus is a scalable solution.

I do use the solution's technical support sometimes.

At that time, there were only two programs, Symantec and McAfee. I feel McAfee was the better one.

We can deploy the solution within five to ten minutes when we have the EXE.

You need to pay for a yearly license for McAfee MOVE AntiVirus. The solution was expensive earlier, but now the rates are cheaper.

I would recommend McAfee MOVE AntiVirus to other users.

Overall, I rate McAfee MOVE AntiVirus an eight out of ten.

We use the solution to prevent getting the infected links.

The interface is good. McAfee MOVE AntiVirus has protected my devices from malware in the past year, even when accessing vulnerable software.

The pricing and renewal process for McAfee MOVE AntiVirus could be more smoother. When I use multiple accounts, often from my Postgres PC, the licensing is capped to one specific account, preventing me from utilizing it with other accounts under the same installation. This necessitates constant switching between accounts, which can be unreliable even when I've paid for the subscription. 

Additionally, the lack of multi-year subscription options makes it inconvenient, as renewing annually might be forgettable. Overall, automation and simplifying renewals and technical support could be done.

I have been using McAfee MOVE AntiVirus for around a year.

The product is stable.

One person is using this solution.

The technical support is not good. I tried logging in from a different account with my laptop and re-changed the ID. It still shows me that the subscription was not renewed even after I continued. I emailed them a couple of times, but they never followed up.

The product is not expensive, but they should make it easier for long-term renewal pricing. It comes with a yearly subscription.

I rate the product’s pricing a seven out of ten, where one is cheap and ten is expensive.

The solution doesn't require any maintenance.

Overall, I rate the solution an eight out of ten.

The solution protects the PC from malware attacks. It scans for viruses. It also warns me if a link appears to be fraudulent.

The core product is good.

The vendor is very pushy on some of the partner products. If we have McAfee installed, the search engine in my browser automatically becomes Yahoo, which I do not want. Every time, I need to change it back. The moment McAfee starts, it resets to Yahoo. It’s really a pain. I never asked for Yahoo to be my default search engine.

The product must stop pushing the wrong sort of upgrades all the time. They keep doing commercial upsells and partner promotions. The tool slows down the computer a little bit sometimes.

I have been using the solution for the last four to five years.

I rate the tool’s stability a nine out of ten.

In the past, I've used Norton. It is good. There isn't much difference between McAfee and Norton.

The setup is straightforward.

I can do the deployment myself. I just need to install it on my PC.

The solution is affordable. The license fee can be paid yearly.

I might recommend the product to others. Overall, I rate the product a six out of ten.

We primarily use the solution for security as an antivirus. 

The security is adequate.

The performance is not very good. 

I've used the solution for a year or so. I haven't used it for that long. 

The solution is stable. It is reliable. There are no bugs or glitches.

We have very good support from McAfee. We are satisfied with the level of service.

I'm also using Bitdefender. I'm using the home edition. 

The setup process is pretty straightforward. If it's a corporation, it can be a bit more complex. 

I'm not sure how long it takes to deploy. 

Two people are enough to handle the setup process. They typically are admins. 

Typically, the licensing is handled yearly. I'm not sure of the exact pricing. 

I'm a consultant. 

I'd recommend the solution to others.
