The major use case for SUSE Linux Enterprise Server for SAP Applications 15 SP6 is to host the application.
What is our primary use case?
What is most valuable?
One advantage I appreciate in the product is its stability.
Regarding features, I have used the SAP Installation Wizard.
The benefit I have seen for deployment time and complexity is the easiness of deploying the specific app, essentially following next, next, next, finished, which you would not expect from something that is ultimately that complex as a service.
I have used Page Cache Management.
Using Page Cache Management did impact my system performance with SAP, and it was not that much of a setup from my side; it was from the partner that we had on the project, but I am aware of using that.
As for interoperability with SAP NetWeaver and other SAP components, I am not aware of that capability.
Regarding Intelligent Package Management and Automated Tuning capabilities, I am not aware of that either.
Overall, I am not really working with Intelligent Package Management or Automated Tuning.
What needs improvement?
At the moment, I do not see anything that needs improving in this regard.
Hypothetically, in the future, they could add some more integrations, such as integration with Microsoft Active Directory in regards to enabling Single Sign-On via SUSE Linux Enterprise Server for SAP Applications 15 SP6, because at the moment, you need to have SAP via Windows application and Windows Server for the application layer to enable Single Sign-On.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have eight years of experience with the solution.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
Regarding predictive maintenance features, we did not have any outages with it until now, and we actually did not need to use it from that point of view.
As for stability in the product, I would rate SUSE Linux Enterprise Server for SAP Applications 15 SP6 as nine out of ten.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
For scalability, I can rate it as eight or nine.
How was the initial setup?
The installation is quite complex and is not really straightforward to install.
The biggest challenge I faced was handling the partitions, for example, because it was quite specific that you needed to set up for SAP.
What was our ROI?
Regarding the value for money that I notice, I would not say that it represents good value for money when we look at the pricing of SAP.
Perhaps it is because I do not track it or because it is not really there; there is no value for money.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
As for the price, it is not that expensive when we are talking about SAP.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
In comparison, I would say that it is much easier to manage Microsoft solutions, mostly because of common knowledge that is in the IT community, and also, we can say that it is more intuitive, so people can learn it much faster than it is with Linux.
What other advice do I have?
For SUSE Linux Enterprise Server for SAP Applications 15 SP6, I would rate the general rating as eight. My overall review rating for this product is eight out of ten.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
