We use the solution for primarily reporting and dashboarding in the organization.

The solution has definitely improved our decision-making process.

When I was working in the corporate world, I didn't know why my company retired my position when I had hit my peak in terms of software. They wouldn't get the contract to continue working. I then had to resort to some means to use some products in my new position. What I did was I found the free software, which I then downloaded onto my PC and, you know, kind of registered. It all went very well. I still use SAS Visual Analytics and write some programs in SAS for the firm I work at present.

There are certain shortcomings in the tool's support services, making it an area where improvements are required.

I used the product for a very long time. I was very happy using it because I always achieved the objective and got the kind of analysis that was requested. I used it to budget for the entire country. The tool's big plus is that it runs on different platforms. In order for me to do the budgeting, I had to post this to every little branch in the country here, which I could do via local information on a PC. Once I get back the budget figures, I post them on the mainframe. The tool runs on all platforms, and it is one big advantage.

The tool integrates very easily with Microsoft Excel. Google has got its own version of the software. The tool should offer integration features with Google.

We use SAS Visual Analytics for an operation monitoring process to detect operations that do not feed into the required patterns.  Visual Analytics explores the results.

Previously, the analyst had to move the data from one solution to another because the previous solution lacked a visual interface for data exploration. 

With SAS Visual Analytics, they can now complete the entire process within the same environment, eliminating the need to spend time moving data from one solution to another.

I'm an implementation partner of SAS Institute. I implement SAS solutions for the customers. I implement planning and business intelligence suites based on the SAS Institute's software range. SAS Financial Management, SAS Corporate Performance Management, and SAS Visual Analytics are some of the products that I implement. Currently, I am implementing a SAS product for two of my customers with my people.

SAS Visual Analytics is used for visual BI or analytics. It is currently available on-premises and on the cloud. SAS Institute plans to have it preferably on the cloud in the future, but they have a very large existing customer base that is used to working with the on-prem version. SAS provides their own cloud space, and they also support some well-known cloud platforms.

What I really love about the software is that I have never struggled in implementing it for complex business requirements. It is good for highly sophisticated and specialized statistics in the areas that some people tend to call artificial intelligence. It is used for everything that involves visual presentation and analysis of highly sophisticated statistics for forecasting and other purposes.

I like SAS Visual Analytics for its ability to provide an initial understanding of data through exploration, even before deep analytics. It is adaptable and can handle large amounts of data. There are many good features, and similar features are available in other tools. For me, its strength is in providing a first view of the data.

SAS Visual Analytics could improve by making it more accessible for users outside the organization. Open-source tools have excelled in this area due to lower costs and better adaptability, especially for projects outside a work environment.

I use Visual Analytics for all the typical use cases except text mining. I used it to analyze data and monitor statistics, not text mining. I also use it for data visualization as well as creating interactive dashboards and infographics.

Visual Analytics is very easy to use. 

We are a non-profit educational organization and the primary use case is for building dashboards and reports to display basic post-secondary data that we either collect for ourselves or that is publicly available. In-house data is in a database and the publicly available data is on spreadsheets with dashboards based on those spreadsheets. We are customers of SAS and I'm the director of data services. 

It's an easy to use solution, it's relatively simple to create basic dashboards and reports. It's also a very powerful solution, although I haven't accessed all the features. With regard to dashboards, it's pretty easy to pick up and use the basic functioning. We built a database and we wanted to be able to use the dashboards for that, and it worked very smoothly. This solution looks like other visual analytics software and from what I've seen, it looks and feels very similar to Power BI or Tableau. If you're transferring from one software application to another, it should be fairly easy.
