Dell Data Protection - Endpoint Security Suite [EOL] provides a good return on investment because it protects our data and includes rollback capabilities, which have been very helpful for us.

I have used multiple cloud providers, including AWS and Azure, with Dell Data Protection - Endpoint Security Suite [EOL].

Dell Data Protection - Endpoint Security Suite [EOL] is very good to use at an enterprise level where we manage many servers.

In our company, we use Dell Data Protection with Dell Data Domain for the backup of our infrastructure.

It is a very cool system, and we chose it for our company solely for this reason. I personally chose the product because it was from Dell. The product works fine for our company.

I consider the product pretty expensive, so from an improvement perspective, I would like the pricing to be better.

I have been using Dell Data Protection - Endpoint Security Suite for two years. Also, I don't remember the version of the solution I am using.

It is a stable solution. Our company faces no problems with the backup system.

The tool is scalable and is currently being used on over 2,000 nodes. So, our company doesn't count the number of clients we have, but we do count the number of nodes, specifically referring to file system nodes, backup nodes, database nodes, virtual machine nodes, and blockchain nodes, which we use for file-based applications. According to the traffic, a backup of five petabytes of data can be done for a month.

Our company contacted the technical support team of Dell. We only ask the tech support for hardware and software-related queries to the technical support team.

Our company previously worked on IBM Tivoli Storage Manager and IBM Spectrum Protect. Also, there is a vast difference between Dell and IBM. We switched to Dell IBM Tivoli Storage Manager because it is not a fully developed tool.

The initial setup wasn't complex.

The solution had initially got deployed on-premise, but now we use the solution on a hybrid cloud since our company's infrastructure needs to work on the cloud. Now, we use DD Cloud Tier.

For deployment and maintenance, we need two engineers.

The implementation process was carried out with the help of Dell's engineer from Ukraine. So, we did not seek Dell's support or support from Dell's partner.

It is an expensive solution.

I recommend the product to other people who want to use the solution. Overall, I rate the product a ten out of ten.

It's very easy to monitor and configure alerts. So, it's a pretty good product, actually. Therefore, the most valuable feature for me is the alert and what it catches, the security engine on it.

There is room for improvement in terms of customer support and service. Just getting a hold of support and the time it takes for assistance is sometimes challenging.

Other than that, the complexity of the GUI can also be improved. 

We installed it 18 months ago, and it updates itself. Therefore, the stability of the solution works fine. 

The scalability of the solution is great. It is self-explanatory. 

It's a pretty straightforward installation. It takes a little learning on the GUI interface, but once you get a feel for it, it's a simple installation. 

Deployment is easy. You just get the MAC address or the computer name and send them an email, or you put a file on the execute the file, and the stuff comes right down. It's a very simple deployment.

Pricing-wise, they're in the middle of the scale, so I would give them a seven and a half. The solution has a reasonable price point.

I install high-end wireless networks, low-voltage cabling, and computer services for high-net-worth people and businesses. From dealing with networking products, I typically deal with different vendors. 

It's best to implement the solution in a beta site first with a small group of people so you understand the logic behind the installation process. Once that's done and you have an understanding of it, it's seamless to install and use the solution. 

You can't just pull it out of the box and roll it out to people. It just doesn't work that easily. So, definitely install it in a test environment or beta environment and then roll it out to the larger community.

Overall, I would rate the solution a nine out of ten. 

One use case was with a public sector company with a lot of Dell infrastructure and choosing to use Dell Data Protection. They also used other data services for analytics. They could connect and integrate both systems, but it was not easy, especially when extracting data from SAP. Integrating data extracted from SAP with Dell Protection was complicated, but it was possible. 

Dell Data Protection integrates with active directories and has a zero-trust kind of policy for data access, but they don't have a multi-layer kind of protection. 

Dell Data Protection is reasonable. They have a decent service and integrate well with users' active directories. Moreover, we had some processes where we evaluated all data protection services, and it seemed interesting.

Dell's virtual tape libraries are not really good— their data protection is based on replication and backup. However, it can be expensive for clients, especially when we are talking about their enterprise plans. They don't do any virtualization of the data, and their recovery point for virtual machines is not the best. Although they pair well with VMware for that, if you're relying solely on Dell protection, it could be an issue.

We do have good monitoring and reporting for that. However, I think that the granularity of the product could be improved. Because you pretty much have a few super expensive plans, even the more basic ones. Even when it comes to app data security, it's not good. They have a few options, like monitoring backups for all tier-one applications.

We do have good visibility control, but there's one thing. Whenever we talk about the reporting, I had a chance to look at their reporting, and in my opinion, it's not user-friendly. That can be a problem.

I had some experience with Dell Data Protection and Endpoint Security Suite while working at Microsoft

In Latin America, the customer service and support team is quite good. Dell has good support in Latin America, especially in Brazil.

The initial setup is not complicated. The integration with other platforms is complex.

Dell Data Protection is not a direct competitor of Denodo but rather competes more with Purva. I also believe Inerva provides the best data protection service among these companies, as its security processes are enhanced with machine learning technology, which is quite impressive.

Overall, I would rate the solution a five out of ten. It's operational and helps, but it's not top-notch. If you're looking for a more basic and less mature platform, it could be a good fit.

We use Dell Data Protection for full backup restore.

The most valuable features of the solution are its overall speed, backup speed, and restore speed.

The solution’s user interface should be made more user-friendly. The initial setup of the solution should also be made easier.

I have been using Dell Data Protection for ten years.

It is a stable solution, but you have to contact support when it's not stable. If something goes wrong with the solution, I cannot fix it myself.

I rate Dell Data Protection an eight out of ten for stability.

The scalability of the solution is really good. Since it is a backup solution, only three users use it in our company.

The technical support for Dell Data Protection is excellent and expensive. Their technical support has a fast response time and qualified people at a premium price.

The initial setup was very difficult. The deployment took about a day, but the policies took around a week. This solution is for my virtual clients, and the setup process involves a lot of steps.

The implementation of the solution needs an expert or someone from Dell.

You pay for the initial purchase of the solution along with the support. I recommend getting five-year support or for as long as you need it because the renewal of Dell support is extremely expensive. You'll need to pay more than the product's original price for the support.

One engineer is required for the deployment and maintenance of the solution. Users should use Dell Data Protection combined with data domain storage to get the full value.

Overall, I rate Dell Data Protection an eight out of ten.

The solution could be more user-friendly compared to one of its competitors. Also, they should provide more information about data protection.
