It does save time, but I do not believe saving time would be the motivator to implement it. Not having to save as many passwords in a separate solution for each platform/website reduces the security risks dramatically and improves the experience for the users.

Answered a question: What is the best tool for SQL monitoring in a large enterprise?
I personally believe in SCOM (Operations Manager) since it contains all the required tools to monitor and manage SQL operationally. Majority of enterprises already have the Microsoft EA in place so the System Center licensing is already available along with SQL.
