Its direct integration with all the other products that we have from Microsoft is valuable. We're using the E5 license, and we have a whole wealth of different products available. It just makes it easier to have everything from one provider.

The one feature we find most useful is the Mobile Application Manager. There are two types, we have the complete MDM and the Mobile Application Manager(MAM). We don't give our users phones, it is their own personal phone, and we need to allow them to have access to the company detail on their phone. We need to create a balance between their own personal data and the company data. We deploy the Mobile Application Manager for them so that we won't be able to interfere with their own personal data.

Its security is most valuable. It gives us a way to secure devices, not only those that are steady. We do have a few tablets and other devices, and it is a way for us to secure these devices and manage them. We know they're out there and what's their status. We can manage their life cycle and verify that they're updated properly.

I like that it's very good and very simple. I found that we just needed to have a proper subscription for an Intune tenant, and from the subscription, if we have the right role assigned, like the global admin role or the owner role, we can use Microsoft cloud resources. With the help of that, we can do many things like setting up Microsoft Intune in the cloud to create our virtual machines. All these can be done, and the steps are very simple. I really liked it.

I like features like Windows Auto-Enrollment. I like it very much because whenever you supply it to the end-user, it will be ready to use immediately. The end-user only needs to provide the user credentials, and then they are good to go. I also really like Cloud PC, which was recently launched on Azure.

...Intune itself integrates with that entire Microsoft ecosystem. As an individual product itself, it's okay. It holds up. But when you start saying "I've bought this as part of a wider solution, as a company we are going Microsoft throughout," then it makes more sense to have Microsoft Intune... so you have that single dashboard.

Hi community,  I work at a computer and network security company. I am currently debating if to migrate from WS1 to Intune. Is it worth migrating from WS1 to Intune if we have Microsoft 365 E3 available?  What are the pros and cons of each solution? Which solution is easier to manage? Thank you for your help.

First of all, what is WS1? I think you should have Intune now as part of your E3 subscription (not sure of it, so please check your billing menu). Intune gives you a lot of flexibility to set rules to deploy to systems.

For Mobile Apps, it isn't the developer that causes the issue, it's the operating environment in which those apps operate in. That's where the security blind spot is. So if a company has a good MDM/EMM solution but also have consumer-facing or public-facing mobile apps, how can they control what happens to their app on the unmanaged devices of their customers? They don't know if that customer has a very old version smartphone, is a few software updates behind, or leaves it alone for periods of time in public places. Those are what hackers look for. We are seeing a lot of breaches happening because of this lack of control. Using a layered security solution approach will help alleviate some of these concerns.
