I'd definitely recommend it. It's a really good tool, and it's also very cost-effective compared to other MFT products. For managed file transfers, it's a really good tool. Companies in the healthcare domain usually prefer such products for reliability and processing the file within one minute. For example, I upload the file to some folder and as the file is available on the source path, a job gets triggered and it's immediately sent to the destination. The reason why it's so fast is that it doesn't basically store the file on the server or in the cloud environment. MOVEit immediately sends the file to the destination and the speed of the execution is very fast. However, if you have multiple files and if the file size is too big, then it takes more time. Overall, I'd rate MOVEit an eight of ten.

I would recommend this solution over others that I would use. We had a coworker to who I recommended it. It's quite simple. It's pretty self-explanatory once you have logged in. Simply navigate to the files and folders and proceed from there. There was a little tutorial they gave us that I shared with them. It was pretty simple. It was just a little training. I am not sure where it came from or who created it, but it was the basics. Nobody here has said that it is overly complicated or that they can't figure it out on their own. I've never had anyone who couldn't find their way or asked me to help them use it. It's easy to navigate through. Try it out; it's pretty self-explanatory. Now, C3, we had to have some training on because it was a little complicated, but this one, it's kind of self-explanatory because it looks like a file or a Windows Explorer. If you are an administrator, things are a little different. I would rate MOVEit an eight out of ten. It's user-friendly, self-explanatory, and does exactly what we need it to. I like the upload speed, which is exactly what I require, and everyone else does as well. And then there's the download speed. According to what I've heard, the clients are much happier than they were with the previous solution.

There is nothing complex with MOVEit Transfer or MOVEit Automation. If you are looking at MOVEit Transfer, just request the users to not use it as permanent storage. They should use MOVEit SFTP only for transient storage. That means that if somebody drops a file, somebody else has to take it. Otherwise, the storage can add up because you are dealing with files. When it comes to MOVEit Automation, you should build some patterns. If it is an external-to-internal transfer, then build a pattern. As part of the pattern, you can put alerts or whatever you want to code in generic logic. This way, when you have to build another process, you can just clone it and build it without doing it step by step. The problem with creating tasks from scratch is that you have too many things or configurations to do. MOVEit also gives you a capability where you can just take an existing one with all the logic, clone it, and then edit only the necessary information. That's what we do here. So, before you put your first automation job into MOVEit, make sure you do the upfront design or plan the generic template. It helps later on. I would rate it a nine out of ten.
I would rate it a six out of ten. In the next release, I would like to see more control over the documents when you send them out. I would also like to see increased file size and file extensions. They are very restricted file types that we can transfer using this solution.
Ipswitch Managed File Transfer is an automated file transfer system to manage, view, and control all file transfer services. You will always know where your files are with predictable and secure delivery, extensive reporting, and easy integration with existing systems.
