A stable solution that provides data protection and employee monitoring features in a single console
Summary
I found Teramind valuable for its combined data protection and employee monitoring features in one console. However, the user interface needs improvement for easier navigation. Despite this, Teramind is simpler than some alternatives, though lacking some macOS support.
Pros
"The product provides data protection and employee monitoring features in a single console."
Cons
"The user experience should be improved."
What is our primary use case?
It is a DLP product. If a company needs a DLP solution with employee monitoring features, they can choose Teramind.
What is most valuable?
The product provides data protection and employee monitoring features in a single console.
What needs improvement?
The solution must improve the UI. Searching for things on the UI is difficult. The user experience should be improved. I can understand it as a technical person, but our customers’ administrators have to handle the solution. It is not easy for them to navigate the UI.
For how long have I used the solution?
We provide the solution to our customers.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
The tool is stable. We have not seen any outages or any critical vulnerabilities.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
The tool is scalable. It is a SaaS-based tool. We do not have to maintain the console or servers. We have two customers.
How was the initial setup?
The solution is cloud-based. The installation is straightforward. The deployment can be done within one minute.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
The license is based on the systems we use. We can also get a license based on the user base. It is an advantage.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
Teramind is a simple tool compared to other products. Some aspects related to macOS are not supported in Trellix.
What other advice do I have?
If a person wants to use a DLP product, they must know what data they want to protect and how to block, allow, and monitor data. We will not have any issues if the policies are correct and the user is authorized to perform the actions. Uninstalling is also pretty quick. Overall, I rate the solution an eight out of ten.
