| Chief Technology Officer for E&V Group at NISKO TECH | 5.0 | I find the Fujitsu Primergy BX400 Series most valuable for its stability, primarily supporting our company's IT activities, especially in telecommunications. However, the initial setup could be simplified. No other solutions were considered, and no ROI is provided. |
| Key Customer Manager at a tech vendor with 11-50 employees | 4.0 | I use the Fujitsu Primergy BX400 for HPC. It’s stable, offers two processors, and is easy to set up. However, I want more automation and a broader Fujitsu portfolio, as scalability requires new boxes. I recommend it (8/10). |

My company's IT activities are carried out with the help of the solution. My company's customers use the solution in their telecom department or for telecommunication purposes.
The most valuable feature of the solution is its stability.
I have been using Fujitsu Primergy BX400 Series for a few years. I don't use the latest version of the solution. My company sells the product.
Stability-wise, I rate the solution a ten out of ten.
The product's scalability is good. Scalability-wise, I rate the solution a seven to eight out of ten.
My company caters to the needs of around five customers who use the solution.
I have contacted the solution's technical support in the past, and my experience with them was good since they were mostly available.
The initial setup of Fujitsu Primergy BX400 Series was complex.
The solution's deployment process took around two hours.
The solution is deployed on-premises.
Only one person is required for the deployment and maintenance of the solution.
No license is required to operate the product. Licenses are meant for products like VMware.
I recommend the product to those planning to use it.
Before planning to use the product, I suggest that its potential users make up their minds to follow the instructions provided by Fujitsu.
I rate the overall product a ten out of ten.
We use it for High Performance Computing (HPC).
Fujitsu Primergy BX400 Series has two processors.
It can have more automation. In addition, Fujitsu should have a broader portfolio, not specifically in terms of the service solutions, but more in terms of the big picture. A broader portfolio would be nice for providing different solutions for the customers.
We have been selling Fujitsu Primergy BX400 Series for three to four years. We have been selling Fujitsu products for ten years.
It is stable.
If you need more services, you have to buy another box. We have three different installations of Fujitsu Primergy BX400 Series. One of them is quite a big one with a lot of services. The other two are much smaller. One of the installations is a special center. They have ten users who are using this solution. They do a lot of calculations and make simulations.
We are a specialist in Fujitsu products. We are the first line of support and maybe also the second line of support. We contact Fujitsu only for a few cases. It happens quite rarely.
It was quite easy. You just need two people to deploy it.
There are special licenses that are connected to the usage. We installed Fujitsu Primergy BX400 Series for a high PC solution, and for this reason, some Microsoft licenses and other special licenses were embedded or bundled to the Fujitsu solution.
I would recommend this solution to others. I would rate Fujitsu Primergy BX400 Series an eight out of ten.
It is a very practical solution because you have all the servers in a minimal space.
We had two sets of 22U racks full of servers. We virtualized all of them at the blade, thus saving space and money.
It is very complex when you need to add storage functions in the FC. It is not only necessary to add the FC switch, you must add the FC Pass Thru 8Gb 18/1, the FC Switch 16Gb Brocade (or other) XX Port. And the FC card to the servers, of course.
I have used this solution for around one year.
I have not encountered any stability issues.
We did experience some scalability issues. After some months, we decided to increase the memory and hard drives. It is “mandatory” to buy the components at the server's manufacturer which can be very expensive. However, if you buy the components at another manufacturer, you lose the guarantee.
On a scale from 1-10 (1=worst, 10=best), I would give the technical support a 5.
Before this job, I have deployed Intel Servers and have used Intel Blade Servers. At the new enterprise, they had bought the Fujitsu Blade Server before I joined.
The server was bought with all the blades, along with the CPU, RAM and hard drive. I built the RAID volumes and installed the OS myself . It was a very simple process.
It is important to evaluate other open-source software in order to save money with the operating systems.
I began to work with the machine because it “came first”. I had not chosen a blade server because all the future hardware updates, must be done with the same manufacturer.
It is much better to use “normal” servers. The initial investment for a blade server is very high and creates dependency.
