What is our primary use case?
We are end-users and a customer working in a bank.
For Forcepoint [Private Offer Only], we are using three suites. One is DLP, and we are happy with that one. One is proxy, and we are not that happy with the proxy. Another one is email gateway.
We have a hybrid environment. We are in Azure also, and we are on-premises.
For internal threat detection, we are not doing it 100%. For external threats, we are doing it from Check Point perimeter level with IPS. All of these things are in place.
What is most valuable?
DLP is the reason we are sticking to this solution.
It is important for the current scenario. Nowadays, a lot of things are coming with AI, and encryption also matters. Encryption is getting deprecated.
We are happy with the reporting functionality. We can have granular reporting of end-users and what URLs they are accessing.
What needs improvement?
Forcepoint [Private Offer Only] is running the proxy through Docker images. The proxy engine gets stuck sometimes.
From an improvement perspective, many cloud-based applications are coming, such as M365. We are particularly seeing some issues in Teams with audio and video. At that time, sometimes it gets stuck and sometimes it gets disturbed through the proxy.
For these cloud-native applications, granularity is very important. Suppose someone is in-house doing something from my tenant, only that should be allowed. We are not able to achieve this properly.
For how long have I used the solution?
We have been using this solution for around four or five years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
It is stable. The proxy sometimes gets stuck, and the WSG engine has issues.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
It is very much scalable. Even though I have six proxies now, the licensing model is the same. There is no additional cost for licensing, and we can scale it up because of the load.
How are customer service and support?
Support is okay and good. I would rate it nine points.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
Earlier we were using Blue Coat proxy. That solution's DLP and reporting capabilities are not as comprehensive. It has one kind of reporting, but the licensing model is different.
If I am deploying in a virtual machine, that licensing model is different than Forcepoint [Private Offer Only]. They have different licensing for antivirus, DLP, and sandboxing.
How was the initial setup?
Proxy installation is straightforward, but management server building is a little complex.
It has different levels of databases, and maintaining the database and understanding which database is for what has been confusing for us.
What was our ROI?
Since we are using the full suite, it is value for money and is saving us money. That is why we are not going for any other solution, even though we have some pain in the proxy.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
Forcepoint [Private Offer Only] is reasonable.
It is a user-based license based on the number of users. Even though we deploy ten proxies and ten hardware instances, the licensing cost is the same.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
Forcepoint [Private Offer Only] is okay. If you compare it with other products, maybe other products are not having this much functionality in one solution. DLP, email gateway, proxying, and all of those things are included.
What other advice do I have?
Maybe next year, we are looking for a user behavior analytics setup.
We have budgeted for a user behavior analytics tool. We are looking for that.
We are working with Azure mainly. AWS is in our roadmap. Forcepoint [Private Offer Only] cloud, we are using it. We have an agent that will connect. If I am connecting inside, it will connect to our in-house proxy, and if we are connecting outside, it will connect to the outside proxy, which is the cloud proxy.
Our proxy appliance is in AWS, though I'm not entirely sure.
I would rate my overall experience an 8.5.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
Hybrid Cloud
If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?
Microsoft Azure
