Backup has protected our office data and now restores individual emails while admins configure settings
Although Veeam Data Cloud for Microsoft 365 is a Backup as a Service, it should give slight leverage to the admins to do more of their own configurations. When it comes to Software as a Service, we do need to agree on certain things, as we do not have much control over the software. If Veeam Data Cloud for Microsoft 365 can improve, it would be better. It could be slightly better, but it is acceptable. As long as support is provided in a timely manner, it is good. I cannot tell it is fully bad or fully good. If I were to give a rating of one to five, I might give 3.5 to four. Rather than giving a help database, which is an ocean of information to search through ourselves, we should be able to open a ticket and have them guide us on how to do it. As an end-user, different levels of admins exist—a fresh admin and a more experienced admin. They need to encourage us to open a ticket quickly, and from there they should guide us straightforwardly with the steps to follow to achieve the desired outcome.

Seamless integration supports small teams with existing skills
The most valuable feature we've found with Veritas CloudPoint so far is the lack of a learning curve because the team was already familiar with all of the consoles and how to build policies. As they started to use it in Azure, they were able to continue doing things as they were used to doing them rather than having to learn a new tool. The efficiency gain we've experienced is that we were able to start deploying backup policies to Azure without having to learn a new tool, even though there are arguments about overhead and granularity if one uses native Azure backup tools compared to Veritas CloudPoint.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"I believe the solution is very scalable. We can continuously add mailboxes and sites."
"It has got all the features. You can restore a mailbox based on an email or a calendar or based on all the emails. A user can also get access to restore the mailbox."
"The product is very stable and performs exceptionally well."
"The most valuable features of the solution are the scalability and the free license of up to ten VMs."
"The solution provides good backup services for Microsoft 365."
"Backup and replication are the most valuable features."
"The solution is stable."
"The pricing is reasonable."
"The most valuable features are the indexing, the file-level restore, and the replications between regions."
"The initial setup is very easy and quite straightforward."
"The product is good for volume-level backups."
"I would rate Veritas CloudPoint a ten because it's done everything it says it'll do, and we've really not had many problems with it."

Cons

"Pricing is an area for improvement, and I would rate it at five out of ten."
"Veeam Backup for Office 365 can improve by adding more features with Microsoft teams. We have many files that we are working on with Microsoft teams and there should be more integration and features."
"I find that technical support can be improved because for people who are knowledgeable, it is good, whereas for people who are not, the support is too technical."
"The solution needs to introduce more features."
"Veaam Backup can be confusing for customers when they start trying to understand how to use the product in multiple environments."
"The product cannot back up Active Directory objects while its competitors can. Self-service power enables us to deal with service providers. We provide services for our clients, so having a multi-tenant service portal would be good."
"They need to enable the encryption of backups so that nobody can gain access unless they have encryption details."
"The solution announced many features two years ago, and they still have not happened, so I would hope that the next release has these ready to go."
"The product needs to improve its file-level or granular-level backups."
"I don't care for the pricing or capacity license model from Veritas CloudPoint because there are cases where we back up the same data multiple times, yet we still owe from a capacity standpoint based on how much data is managed in our backups."
"They are niche with the work that they do, but they should have more integration with NetBackup and the reporting is something they should be working towards improving."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"I think it's a fair price. It's around $36 per user, so I think it's a fair price for our customers."
"Veeam Backup for Office 365 is a low-priced solution, so it is scalable and is priced for the market, comparable to other solutions."
