Security monitoring has improved and protects mission-level mac segments for critical users
Currently, I am not using this because it is mandated on Office 365, which we are not currently maintaining. We are just using the manage feature, so it is not something we control. We are using Cisco SecureClient for VPN. Symantec Endpoint Encryption is only used at the MAC level segment for the B Mission levels for security purposes, and it is only from the ten user perspective. It is straightforward and not complex. I would rate the complexity as a seven, but I would rate the product itself as a nine. We have approximately fifty thousand in budget. Better security methods are valuable features that we can suggest, as everything is under liability. My overall review rating for this solution is nine out of ten.

Greta for remote control and management with good performance
I'm not on the most current version, however, I know one area that I didn't get into that I kind of wanted to is to have a mobile device management tool. My understanding is it's improved a lot from the version I have. It may be a feature that is already available. Other than that, it really does everything I need it to do, and don't have any complaints.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The solution is easy to use."
"The best feature of Symantec Endpoint Encryption is the encryption itself, and none of our customers have complained about this solution at all, so I take it that everything is still working fine."
"This automated solution puts us at the base level where we can get better."
"It is fairly stable."
"One notable aspect is the ability to customize alerts and other settings."
"The solution has helped to increase staff productivity."
"The systems are quite integrated."
"The stability seems to be okay, it works as it was designed to, there are no bugs or glitches, it doesn't crash or freeze, and it's reliable."
"The stability is good."
"The setup is pretty straightforward."
"It's allowed us to manage a couple of hundred PCs with just one person - me."

Cons

"One feature that is lacking is integration with Symantec Information Centric (ICT). As it is now, I don't see how to integrate the encryption with ICT, and in my opinion this is an area that certainly requires encryption, even though it's no longer supported by Broadcom."
"If for example, a user forgets the endpoint key, they cannot access their data."
"The only improvement would be if the prices of Symantec Endpoint Encryption could be lower to compete better in the market."
"We'd like to switch from Symantec due to the fact that the switching part is a pain."
"I would like them to have integration with a wider range of non-Symantec products."
"Technical support needs to be better. They need more skilled techs and they need to be faster at responding."
"The initial setup is a bit complex."
"The solution does not have endpoint control."
"They used to be really good, however, lately, not so much. The quality of support has dropped."
"If they could introduce it on the cloud, it would be ideal."
"I'm not on the most current version, however, I know one area that I didn't get into that I kind of wanted to is to have a mobile device management tool. My understanding is it's improved a lot from the version I have. It may be a feature that is already available."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The licensing costs yearly are $5000."
"Considering the fluctuation in exchange rates in our part of the world, we find it generally affordable."
"We hold an annual license, and their pricing is competitive, falling into the affordable range."
"It can be expensive. However, if you plan to scale or are at a large enterprise company, this product could be what you need."
"They have two solutions for encryption including Symantec Endpoint Encryption and PGP Endpoint Encryption. With one PGP license, you can deploy the two solutions. The PGP license gives you two options."
"Although the performance and stability of this solution are good, our challenge is the price tag. You buy the solution once, but you also have to keep on buying the licenses yearly."
"There is a license required for this solution."
"The license is not very expensive."
