Security monitoring has improved and protects mission-level mac segments for critical users
Currently, I am not using this because it is mandated on Office 365, which we are not currently maintaining. We are just using the manage feature, so it is not something we control. We are using Cisco SecureClient for VPN. Symantec Endpoint Encryption is only used at the MAC level segment for the B Mission levels for security purposes, and it is only from the ten user perspective. It is straightforward and not complex. I would rate the complexity as a seven, but I would rate the product itself as a nine. We have approximately fifty thousand in budget. Better security methods are valuable features that we can suggest, as everything is under liability. My overall review rating for this solution is nine out of ten.

Centralized encryption management has strengthened compliance and protects sensitive data daily
When deploying Trend Micro Endpoint Encryption, we faced some issues where scanning was not happening properly, and the policies may not have been created properly, which is the reason it was not working. There could be improvements specifically about the scanning part and policy part where we have to deploy what we actually require. I would like to see features that include collaboration of all alerts and applied analytics so we can immediately identify issues. Analytics can provide immediate reporting before issues spread, as sometimes one issue captured at the site level can spread to high-level operations. If identified and communicated to the team immediately, it could prevent issues. Usually, downloading and reviewing the report takes too much time, and many engineers skip it due to the volume of tasks. However, analytics could generate alerts and ticketing if integrated with the EMS application.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The solution is great for large-scale deployments."
"The most valuable feature is that it works in the background so that the end-users are not aware of what is happening on the laptop."
"The stability of the product is very good; there are no bugs or glitches, it does not crash or freeze, and it is reliable."
"The most effective features of Symantec are those related to data protection."
"In general terms, it is working properly and according to our expectations. The comfort of feeling secure is the most valuable. Some customers had certain fears about changing the product because no one wants to lose any kind of information or to have some problems or inconsistencies while migrating from one product to another."
"Antivirus, URL filtering, and firewall protection are the most effective features for data protection."
"The most valuable feature is the ease of use."
"Overall Symantec Endpoint Encryption is a reasonable solution."
"Logging and reporting capabilities of Trend Micro Endpoint Encryption help with compliance verification, and there are no issues."
"The most valuable feature is the support for email."
"One valuable feature is full disk encryption."
"Overall, I think that it's very interesting."
"The solution enables all the development and technical team members to work from home while, at the same time, ensuring the security of the work environment."
"We're very satisfied with Trend Micro support."
"Very good interface."
"It passes your data as encrypted in all of your endpoints so that data is more secure so any threat of theft is minimized."

Cons

"We had approximately 600 users but we migrated to a different solution because of some issues. I can't recommend this product."
"Its decryption time needs to be improved. Currently, its decryption time is very long, and it takes double time than encryption. They need to work on that. Its encryption time is fine."
"We'd like the solution to be lighter. Symantec used quite a lot of memory."
"Upgrades from one version to another may only sometimes be straightforward, especially if one needs a clearer understanding of the process."
"If for example, a user forgets the endpoint key, they cannot access their data."
"The program's disk encryption is not very friendly with Microsoft OS updates. We have a problem with updates failing unless we use a time-consuming work-around."
"The security could be improved."
"They have too high of a price tag. That's why they're losing the market share."
"I have been infected with ransomware that Trend Micro Endpoint Encryption should catch, and if we get infected it must be learning for it to know it is malware."
"I would not recommend this solution."
"In the next release, it would be better if it was more user-friendly."
"We would like to see a wider, better dashboard for the purposes of monitoring the users of the Trend Micro software."
"We had to use an integrator for the implementation of Trend Micro Endpoint Encryption. We have two people who work on this solution."
"There are scalability limitations. I'd rate scalability five out of ten."
"There are a couple of bugs in this solution and these are creating a very large transaction log in the database, sometimes reaching 300GB, which is very annoying."
"When deploying Trend Micro Endpoint Encryption, we faced some issues where scanning was not happening properly, and the policies may not have been created properly, which is the reason it was not working."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Considering the fluctuation in exchange rates in our part of the world, we find it generally affordable."
"There is a license required for this solution."
"They have two solutions for encryption including Symantec Endpoint Encryption and PGP Endpoint Encryption. With one PGP license, you can deploy the two solutions. The PGP license gives you two options."
"Depending on how many modules you will use (up to five) the licensing will be more expensive."
"The licensing costs yearly are $5000."
"The pricing is fair but there is variability in our area that needs to be addressed."
"Although the performance and stability of this solution are good, our challenge is the price tag. You buy the solution once, but you also have to keep on buying the licenses yearly."
"It can be expensive. However, if you plan to scale or are at a large enterprise company, this product could be what you need."
"We pay for Trend Micro Endpoint Encryption every six months. The price of the solution is reasonable."
"I rate the product price a seven on a scale of one to ten, where one is cheap, and ten is expensive."
"One of the reasons we decided to go with Trend Micro Endpoint Security is because of its cost effectiveness."
"You have to pay for the license annually."
"The drive encryption of Trend Micro Endpoint Encryption could improve. Some of my customers have some problems."
"I rate the product price a six on a scale of one to ten, where one is high price, and ten is low price."
"The solution's licensing costs are yearly."
